The Alpha’s Obsession with his Ex-Contract Luna
Chapter 81
âWe shouldnât have done that,â Sheridan said seriously after breaking from the kiss, guilt growing in her heart. The man before her was so different, but she still could not get over the one from her past.
In those days, he would not even come close or touch her, but now he was kissing her without any intention of stopping. It was too much for her, and sometimes she felt like the substitute bride she was to him.
Alpha Nick would have never been interested in her if he had not seen what Charlotte did. âYou are the one who asked for the divorce, remember? You canât eat your cake and have it back, Alpha Nick. You reap what you sow.â
Sheridan could not take it anymore. It hurt badly that when she tried to put everything behind her, all she remembered was the pain he caused her. Alpha Nick was slightly upset being addressed by his title.
He knew that she was drawing boundaries if she used it. âStop calling me Alpha. I am not your Alpha.â There was a slight irritation in his tone, but Sheridan refrained from trying to comfort him.
Perhaps she had been too lenient. It wasnât the same when she stayed by his side like an obedient wife.
âAnd you are equally not my man,â she stated casually. Alpha Nick was hurt but still could not be upset with her. If he had not found out about Charlotteâs betrayal, he would have never understood what Sheila went through.
Still, there was a spark in her eyes even when she refused him. âI know that love me. I can see it in your eyes.â
you still
The certainty in her voice annoyed her greatly as she realized that no matter how hard she tried, she could not hate it. âThen you arenât seeing well. Please check. I am Sheridan, not Sheila.â
The stars were so bright, and everything was beautiful, with the exception of Sheridanâs mood.
âYou are still the same person no matter how many names you use,â Alpha Nick stared into her eyes as he spoke. He did not want to look away, as every moment he spent with her mattered a lot to him. âPlease, I know that I hurt you so much, but how can I make it up to you?â

Sheridan lowered her gaze. When she decided to leave, she felt in her heart that he would regret it, but she never thought it would be so soon, âI warned you, I donât g back to eat what I already vomited. I already moved on? There was no warmth in her voice, as she seemed upset.
It was true that Alpha Nickâs good intentions were always showcased differently every time he spoke.
âPlease give me just one more chance. I promise not to mess it upâ He knew he would not dare to mess it up. Her status did not matter to him. All he wanted was a chance to amend his ways.
Sheridanâs eyes stung with unshed tears. All she asked for was a few daysâ extension and for Alpha Nick to be her partner at the gala awards, but he mocked her instead,
Ah, she was trying so hard to forget the bitter past, but the more he begged her, the greater she felt the pain multiply.
âIâve loved you for so long that it hurts. I just canât do it anymoreâ
Alpha Nick felt pained, and yet he accepted that he deserved it. âThen donât love me. Donât do anything. Just be with me. I wonât stop you from running your businesses or anything. Just give me the chance to show you how much I love you,â he pleaded desperately.
Sheridan saw him show love and affection to Charlotte. She knew he was capable. She also saw how Charlotte changed from one man to the other, finally settling on Tom. Then what happened? The man Sheridan had eyes on for a long time, loving him in secret, turned out to be Charlotteâs destined mate.
Even when she mistakenly crashed the wedding because of those assassins Charlotte sent after her, he was so cold and distant, even when she tried to save him from shame. These were bitter memories, but why wonât they just go away?
âI already know what you are capable of. I saw how you treated Charlotte. Every time I imagine a better you, sheâs always there by your side.â
Alpha Nick was nodding his head. It was the same with him. After witnessing what she did at the gala awards night with Tom, that was all he could see when faced with her. All their happy moments blurred.
âI knew that would happen, and itâs the reason sheâs still in my house. I want you to see what has become of the woman who destroyed usâ

Sheridan shook her head. If not for the baby in her womb, she would have been happy for this revenge, but not anymore.
âShe didnât destroy us. You did. I was your wife, but you never even looked at me. You didnât care if I lived or died. Even if it was just a contract, you should have treated me like a pack member, and that would have given me hope, but you treated me like an enemy. Nick, your presence only reminds me of the bad memories,â she said bitterly, adding.
âYou said that you tried but still could not love me. Did you? How was that possible when all you ever thought about was Charlotte?â
Alpha Nick was smart, making her eat to her fill before bringing it all up. If not, the date would have been ruined. âI messed up. I should have listened to Mom.â
There was still a chance between them because the divorce was not finalized by then, but he was too bent on giving Charlotte a comfort zone, letting Sheila go.
âYou did the right thing. Only a fool like me would go against the mate bond,â Sheridan said seriously, regretting her previous actions.
Alpha Nick smiled bitterly. âNo. Iâm the fool. My wolf was distant ever since Charlotte returned and warned me to let you go, but I couldnât understand why. When I think about it, I could not tell the reason why I felt comfortable around you and so repulsed when with her. They were all signs I overlooked.â
Sheridan felt her heart softening but knew it wasnât right. It was unlike her to go back to something she already got over with. âItâs better that we end things.â
Alpha Nickâs gaze darkened at her stubbornness. The fact that he was wrong did not mean he was ready to let her go. If he could give her odd conditions, perhaps it might tickle something in her.
Knowing that she was fighting whatever she was feeling for him, he went on to say, âIf you donât want to come back to me, then give me a memory. I donât remember a thing about what happened that night, but I know that I had you.â
Sheridan shook her head when the understanding sank in. âYou want to have sex with me?â She didnât know how to feel about it, but the way she said it made Alpha Nick uncomfortable
