MY DADDYS BEST FRIEND||18+
ARABELLA ARMANI
I stirred, blinking against the soft morning light filtering through her curtains. As i stretched, momentarily disoriented by the emptiness beside her.
The warmth that had been there when I fell asleep was gone. Sitting up, I rubbed her eyes and looked around. Alessio was nowhere to be seen.
A pang of disappointment flickered through me, but it was quickly replaced by curiosity. Swinging my legs over the side of the bed, i walked out of my room and down the stairs
The comforting smell of coffee and something cooking wafted through the house, guiding me toward the
kitchen.
As I rounded the corner, I found Alessio standing by the stove, making waffles with practiced ease. A pot of coffee brewed on the counter, and a small assortment of fruit and toppings were spread out on the table.
Alessio glanced over his shoulder, flashing me a warm smile. "Good morning, sleepyhead."
I smiled back, feeling a sense of warmth and gratitude wash over me . "Good morning you didn't have to do all this."
"I figured you could use a little pick-me-up," he said, setting a plate of waffles on the table. "Besides, I like cooking and you need to eat."
I sat down, reaching for the cup of ice coffee he made for me "Thank you, Tom. This means a lot."
We ate breakfast together with easy conversation and laughter helping to lift my spirits. For the first time in days, i felt a sense of normalcy returning After we finished Alessio leaned back in his chair grinning.
"So, what's the plan for today?" he asked. "How about we make it a lazy day? Movies, snacks, and maybe some more cooking?"
My eyes lit up. "That sounds perfect."
The rest of the day was exactly what i needed we lounged on the couch, watching a mix of classic movies and guilty-pleasure comedies. Alessio made popcorn, and we snacked on chips and candy, laughing at the cheesy dialogue and ridiculous plot twists.
Later on in the afternoon we went out to the store to grab more snacks and ingredients for dinner.
I felt lighter and more like myself , with alessio by my side. we had joked and teased each other in the aisles, the heaviness of the past few days slowly dissipating.
Back at the house, we cooked dinner together the kitchen filled with the comforting sounds of sizzling pans and soft music.
Alessio showed me how to make one of his favorite recipes, and we worked as a team laughing and sneaking bites of food as we cooked.
We found ourselves back on the couch, plates of food balanced on our laps the cozy atmosphere, the shared laughter, and the sense of togetherness made me realize just how much i appreciated having alessio in my life.
"Thank you for today," i said softly, glancing over at him.
Alessio smiled, his eyes warm. "Anytime Angel you're not alone, remember that."
I nodded, feeling a sense of peace settle over me with him by my side, i knew could face whatever challenges came my way and for now, that was enough.
i was getting kind of tired my head resting against his shoulder and then i fell asleep
switch the narrator's pov
He carried her up the stairs with ease, the quiet of the house amplifying the soft sounds of her breathing. Instead of taking her to her own room, he carried her to his. He knew she might sleep more soundly there, away from the memories and heaviness that had weighed her down. Gently, he laid her down on the bed, pulling the covers up around her to keep her warm.
Alessio lingered for a moment, watching her sleep. The soft rise and fall of her chest was soothing, and he felt a protective instinct surge within him. She had been through a lot, and he was determined to help her through it.
With a final glance, he quietly left the room, leaving the door slightly cracked
He would be nearby if she needed anything
But for now, he wanted to give her the peace and rest she deserved after everything and the long day that they had together
Alessio made his was the quiet hum of the house surrounding him.
He tidied up the remnants of their evening empty plates, snack wrappers, and the throw blankets they had cozied up in.
The warmth of the day lingered, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment knowing that Arabella was finally getting some proper rest.
After turning off the television and dimming the lights, Alessio poured himself a glass of water and stood by the kitchen window, gazing out at the calm night.
The stars dotted the sky, and the gentle breeze rustled the leaves outside. It was a peaceful moment, one he hoped Arabella could feel as she slept.
With a soft sigh, he made his way back upstairs, checking in on her one last time. She was still fast asleep, her face serene, the weight of her worries momentarily lifted. Tom quietly pulled the door almost closed, leaving just a sliver open in case she needed him during the night.
As he settled into the guest room down the hall, he couldn't shake the sense of responsibility and care he felt for her. No matter what challenges lay ahead, he was committed to being there for her, offering whatever support she needed.
And with that comforting thought, Tom drifted off to sleep, the house enveloped in a calm stillness, knowing that for now, everything was as it should be.
