Chapter 115
Unfinished Business with You
Chapter 115
âUncle...â
Nathanâs mouth was temporarily sealed by Eugeneâs hand before he was hurriedly pushed outside.
Eugene followed and came outside soon after.
âUncle...â
Nathanâs mouth was temporarily sealed by Eugeneâs hand before he was hurriedly pushed outside.
Eugene followed and came outside soon after.
âWhat do you want?â
Nathan peered suspiciously through the front door. âWhoâs inside?â
Eugene slammed it shut. âMind your own business, will you? Is there anything that you need from me?â
Nathan was glad to see him flustered. âArenât I clever? I saw your car and made a guess that youâve
moved here. Isnât that Olivia in your house?â
Eugene glared. âItâs none of your business.â
Nathan teased, realizing that he discovered something. âWhy did you invite Olivia to lunch and not
me?â
Eugene shoved him aside. âWhat do you mean? Olivia isnât here!â
Nathan was persistent and wore a wronged expression. âAlright, Iâll give her a call then!â
Eugeneâs glare turned cold. âDo you want me to throw you abroad again?â
Nathan laughed awkwardly as he argued, âPlease, donât do that. Iâm just messing with you, okay? Iâm
here because Iâm launching a new game and I havenât found any investors. Are you interested in
investing, Uncle?â
Eugene exhaled deeply. This is none other than plain blackmail!
âBring your proposal and come to Nolan Group tomorrow!â
âYes! Thatâs great!â Nathan immediately exclaimed. âUncle, then Iâll take my leave. I hope everything
goes smoothly for you!â
Eugene watched as Nathanâs figure grew smaller as he left. Eugene felt frustrated and amused at the
same timeâit wasnât easy to have Olivia over for a meal yet he had been interrupted by Nathan.
He headed inside and both mother and son looked up at him.
âMr. Nolan, if youâre busy, just go ahead,â Olivia said.
Eugene walked over to the dining table and sat down. âItâs nothing. Letâs eat.â
North wasnât eating; he was typing away on the computer that he had brought over. It started to beep in
warning all of a sudden, causing his little eyebrows to lock tight togetherâsomeone was tracking down
information regarding him and his mommy yet again.
He had already noticed the same act a month ago, so he had installed a layer of firewall and alarms.
Now that it happened again, who was it?
He traced the hackerâs history according to the electronic tracks that were left behind and realized that
the hacker wasnât very skilled in his craft. The corner of his lips curled slyly into a slight smile with his
face bearing the confidence far from an ordinary little boyâs. His tiny fingers flew across the keyboard;
he was well-versed while 0âs and 1âs constantly flashed on the display screen at lightning speed. Then,
he hit âEnterâ. Done!
At the same time, someone elseâs computer screen turned a bright shade of blue and the man in front
of the screen was unable to have it return to normal, no matter how hard he tried.
In hopelessness, he could only dial a number on his phone. âHey, Miss Lara!â
âHowâs your investigation going?â The other end of the line was Lara.
âIâm sorry, Miss Lara. I could only get my hands on some basic information. The target has someone of
a high skill level secretly obstructing my work. Not only was I not able to retrieve any information, but
the target has even infected my computer with a virus.â
âAre they even more skillful than you?â
âYeah, and not just by a little bit! Miss Lara, you should find someone better to investigate them!â
Lara hung up and looked over at Edward. âSo, if weâre unable to track their information, Old Man Nolan
probably canât do it too, right?â
âTechnically, thatâs the case. However, Lila called earlier and informed that Eugene has moved to Muse
Peninsula.â
âMuse Peninsula? Why?â
âIâm not sure!â
Lara asked as she frowned, âHe couldnât have moved there because of Nathan, right?â
Edward replied, âOr, maybe he discovered the hacker that we hired to keep an eye on him and he
didnât want to be monitored!â
âIâll look into it tomorrow. The mother and son are starting to be more and more suspicious!â
On the other side, North had sent the hacker running within a few minutes and was back to eating his
meal.
Olivia was almost unsurprised when she asked, âWhat happened?â
âSomeoneâs tracking our information!â he replied, as he picked up another piece of chicken wings. His
oily little lips smacked together in enjoyment.
