Chapter 354
Unfinished Business with You
Chapter 354
Nicole defended herself, âAleena, we have been friends for so many years. How can you doubt me like
that? I didnât want to send you home because I was trying to help you hide from your parents and was
worried they would find out. I said that I would find you a man but you refused, saying that you wanted
to stay pure for Eugene. That was why I suggested you lock yourself in a room. As for Roberts
pouncing on you, isnât that normal? Heâs a playboy. He would pounce on any girl he sees, not to
mention he has been coveting you for such a long time. You canât just say that I planned all of this
based on this point. I was just trying to help you!â
Aleena nodded. âFine, youâve convinced me on this matter. Last night, you kept dropping hints for me
to get Olivia drunk. I suppose you also know that I drugged her drink, right? But she switched her glass
with mine. I was worried I would hurt myself so I lowered my head and didnât notice what she did, but I
canât believe that you didnât see it too. You let me drink that glass of wine without stopping me. Were
you hoping to see me make a fool of myself?â
Nicole said helplessly, âYou really are wrong about this. I really didnât see the switch. We were all
distracted by the plate when it smashed. Olivia kept asking you if you were hurt, and I was worried
about you so I was looking at you too. I didnât notice when she switched your glasses at all. If you donât
believe me, you can ask Alex and Hayden who were with us at the same table.â
Aleena had a feeling that Nicole secretly had a role in this matter, but her explanation seemed
legitimate.
But in the end, she could only blame herself for being dumb. Who else could she blame?
Even if Nicole had plotted for this to happen on her, it was her own fault for not knowing her true colors.
She wouldnât rely on her too much anymore in the future and she had to keep an eye on her.
She then walked slowly to her bed and sat down. Looking up at Nicole, she asked, âHave you always
been close with Aunt Lara?â
Seeing that Aleena had calmed down a little, Nicole walked over and sat on the sofa. âDonât you get
along with her? I canât say that I am very close to her either, but I will greet her if I see her. After all,
sheâs an elder and also Eugeneâs stepmother. Even if I donât like her, I need to show her due respect
for Eugeneâs sake, donât I?â She rolled her eyes.
Aleena pouted. âItâs exactly because she is Eugeneâs stepmother that I dislike her. Sheâs so
pretentious.â
Nicole smiled. âLast night, Aunt Lara seemed to be very satisfied with you. She even said she would
help you get Ben!â
âMe and him?â Aleena scoffed. âEven if he was the last man on Earth, I would not be with him!â
She had heard about what happened from her parentsâhe had actually connected the surveillance
video to the living room and wanted to force her to marry him. They could keep dreaming!
Nicole just smiled, not saying a word.
She stayed for a while and left after comforting her.
Aleena lay in bed until night time.
Suddenly, her phone vibrated, and she picked it up. It was a call from an unknown number so she
answered it curiously, thereafter she heard Curtisâs voice. âMiss Jones, itâs me, Curtis Wood. President
Nolan is looking for you.â
Hearing this, Aleena was filled with joy. It was a physiological reaction.
Even though she knew that Eugene wasnât looking for her for anything good, but hearing his name
made her happy. If he was looking for her, she would be even happier.
She tried to control herself and asked calmly, âWhy is he looking for me?â
Curtis said professionally, âIâm not sure about that. It would be better if you come over. Iâll send the
address to your phone.â
âFine,â Aleena answered.
A short while after she hung up the call, a location was sent to her phone.
She looked at the location carefully. Whereâs this place?
