Chapter 41
Unfinished Business with You
Chapter 41
Kate vented her resentment. âThat entire family is abnormal!â
Scowling, Nathan said coldly, âWhy do you still go easy on people like them? You should teach them a
lesson that theyâll never forget.â
Olivia snickered. âDid you know you just said exactly what North said? He said that I should only
reason with human beings and not animals.â
âHahahaâ¦â
The three of them burst out laughing. Then, Kate continued, âNorthâs right. You shouldnât waste your
effort talking to her.â
Meanwhile, Nathan also smirked. âThat kid will seek revenge for even the pettiest grievances. Iâm kind
of worried about that fat kid.â
Olivia responded, âAbout that kid, I donât think he went to class today. When I left, I saw him leave with
his grandma.â
Nathan answered, âGood that he has the foresight.â
Olivia continued, âLetâs not talk about him anymore. Please help me with this studio. I need it to be at a
prime location, and moneyâs not a problem. The closer it is to Annaâs studio, the better. I canât wait to
see the look on her face when she finds out.â
âNo problem. Iâm on it,â replied Nathan.
While they were discussing, Oliviaâs phone rang. When she looked at it, it was an unknown caller ID.
Though slightly baffled, she proceeded to answer it. âHello.â
A familiar male voice sounded out from the other end of the phone. âIs this Miss Maxwell? This is Brian.
Do you have some time this afternoon?â
It took Olivia a while to process that. âOh. Hello, Mr. Mccarthy. Is there anything?â
Kate quietly nudged Nathan to look at Olivia. âIt looks like sheâs going out for lunch. Did I hear it right?
Is she being targeted by that trashy man again?â
Nathan gave Kate a look. âYou go and listen in."
âNo, you go!â Kate pushed him.
âWhy me?â
âThatâs your job.â
While they two were still trying to work out who should go, Olivia had already returned from the phone
call. âWhat are you two talking about?â
They looked at each other before simultaneously turning to Olivia, remaining silent. Olivia became
skeptical and puckered her lips. âWhy are you looking at me like that? Do you wanna join me?â
Kate purposely put up an unfriendly look. âWhoâs bringing you out for lunch? Is it a guy or a lady? Do
you like that person?â
Olivia was rendered speechless. âCome on, Kate; donât stare at me as if Iâve just betrayed you. People
might think weâre a couple!â
Kate pouted and sent Olivia a flying kiss. âThe whole world knows that. Spill itâwhoâs had their eyes on
my woman? Are you going now? Are you still going to love me when you get back?â
Olivia glared at her. âI donât think you belong in the fashion magazine industryâyouâre a born actress!â
âDonât divert the topic. Spill it.â
Olivia was annoyed. âThat was the man that I saved on the street the other day. He said he wants to
take me out for a meal as a token of his appreciation.â
Kate asked, âThe guy at the restaurant?â
Upon seeing Olivia nodding, Kate was full of anticipation. âAh, that man is good-looking! Heâs taking
you out for a mealâdoes that mean he likes you?â
The moment Kate finished her sentence, someone slapped her on her head. Then, she heard a familiar
male voice. âHas anyone ever told you that youâre a moron? How does taking her out for a meal mean
he likes her? I go over to your place for meals every day; does that mean I like you too?â
âNathan, are you tired of living?â Kate had a fierce look on her face as she pounced on him.
