Chapter 91
Unfinished Business with You
Chapter 91
Jessica pouted. âNothing now. I was going to treat you to a meal as thanks, but I donât want to get in
the way of your date.â
Jessica pouted. âNothing now. I was going to treat you to a meal as thanks, but I donât want to get in
the way of your date.â
âWhat date?â Olivia frowned. âThatâs nonsense. Heâs just my patientâs family, nothing else.â
Jessica chuckled. âOh, how incriminating. If thereâs really nothing else, why are you so nervous?â
âBecause you guys keep coming up with stupid rumors,â Olivia replied. âSomeone thought weâre a
couple, and I almost got into trouble for that. Now youâre doing the same thing. Isnât that a bit
ungrateful?â
âThat just means Iâm not the only one who thinks you two are a couple.â
Olivia glared at her, then said, âAnything else? Iâll be leaving if you have nothing else to say.â
A tad startled, Jessica quickly held her hand. âOkay, okay. Itâs just a joke. If you say itâs nothing, then
itâs nothing. I really want to thank you, so call me when you have time. Iâll treat you to a meal.â
âItâs fine. This is nothing,â Olivia replied.
âI still have to thank you,â Jessica insisted. âIf itâs not for you, I couldnât have gone on with the decision
to break up with him. I liked him, you know.â
Olivia glanced at her. âNow you make me feel guilty. I sound like someone who separated a loving
couple. Heâs a jerk, so throwing him out ASAP is a good idea.â
Jessica chuckled. âI like talking to you, Olivia. What Iâm trying to say is that you helped me see through
him. Iâll maybe be down for a bit after the breakup, but I wonât regret it.â
Olivia patted her shoulder. âDonât be down for too long. Remember, you can fish a lot of fish now.â
Jessica nodded. âYeah. Iâll change a ton of boyfriends. Give me your number. We can meet up when
we have time.â
After they exchanged numbers, someone called Jessica. She frowned before swiping on her phone to
answer the call. âDaââ
The caller said angrily, âWhere are you? What happened between you and Ben?â
Jessica was exhausted from this. âIâm outside, and I canât explain this easily. All you have to know is
that we broke up.â
âThis is a marriage of convenience. You canât just break up. Do you know how much the company
stands to lose from this?â the man bellowed furiously.
Jessica didnât back down either. âAm I really your child, Dad? Is your company more important than my
happiness? We havenât even gotten married yet, and heâs already cheating on me! How do you expect
me to stay together with him?!â
The man then tried to advise, âPlease understand his circumstances. Ben told us sheâs just a client.
Men always have to socialize, so take a step back. They were just sharing a room. That isnât proof
anything happened. Ben told me you hit him in public. Is that true? Thatâs unacceptable! Come back
right now! Benâs father will come not long from now!â Then the call was cut.
Jessicaâs hand was trembling, and her face was ashen from fury.
âWhat happened?â Olivia asked.
Tears almost fell down Jessicaâs cheeks as she complained, âThat b*stard shamelessly smeared me!
He told my parents I humiliated him for nothing! I caught them red-handed! But still he tries to justify it!â
That didnât surprise Olivia at all. âAnd your father believed him?â
âHe can twist the facts like nobody else. Of course, my stupid old man believed him.â Jessica wiped her
tears. âIâll be leaving now, Olivia. Letâs meet up sometime.â
Before she left, Olivia called her, âHold up.â
âWhat is it?â Jessica looked back.
