Chapter 36
Sharing Beatrice A Luna to her Stepbrothers
36-Cannot Escape Me âHow,â Helel pulled away from me and jumped out of the bed once it was certain that my wolf had fallen asleep.
âMaybe she was angry and said it just to piss me off?â I got up in bed, making up explanations for how it was possible.
âItâs not how it works. Besides, my wolf felt it too,â he said, as he walked around the room, running a hand through his silky hair, and mumbling all the possibilities to himself.
âBut you just rejected me. How could it be possible?â I whispered. Even I was at a loss for words.
âWhat ifâ,â he paused, stopping in his tracks too, âWe need to see if you can still feel the mate bond with the others too,â Helel announced it but didnât wait around. He hadnât even looked my way after feeling the mate bond with me. It was probably the reality setting close to him.
The reality is that he cannot escape me.
Obviously, I was a bit lost too, but nothing too crazy. I needed the Alpha Kings to be my mates.
I sat down and waited for him to bring the others inside. Akin wasnât around, so Iâm assuming he was upset with me for raising my voice at him and doubting his intentions.
âBut how is it possible?â Zane walked in first, and the others followed him.
âIs your wolf awake?â Zane stopped in front of me and asked me. All I had to do was just shake my head at him.
âBut why?â Maddox had the same expression of exhaustion. on his face as before when he found out we were mates.
âI donât know. Iâm calling Akin because this ainât it,â Helel mumbled, dialing Akinâs phone.
âDo you know what it means?â Maddox looked at Zane and asked him.
âThat we are stuck with her,â he added until his eyes landed on my face, âIâm not blaming you, but itâs a fucked up situation since you areâ,â he was about to ramble the same thing when I said it.
âItâs okay. Of all you brothers, you are the last one I want to be mated to.â The instant I said that, I saw Zane bite his tongue and step away from Maddox.
âExcuse me?â The look on Maddoxâs face comforted me.
âEverybody has a certain type. You are not my type, and Iâm not yours.â I added it just so that he doesnât think Iâm instigating him when, in reality, I was.
Maddox lowered his face and sighed with his hands on his face. It was almost like a sigh of disbelief.
âLetâs not argue,â Zane mumbled, gently patting his brotherâs back.
âAs for you, why did you lie to me when you said Maddox told you about us?â I wasnât going to spare Zane for lying to everyone and making me look bad. His face turned dark when he heard me questioning him.
âI never told you anything,â Maddox slightly turned to Zane, who rolled his eyes and turned his face to the side. It was then that Maddox shook his head at his own stupidity for believing his brother and walked out of the room. I bet he was feeling like a fool after hearing he wasnât my type, either. I knew for a fact that their egos were big. So he was definitely going to come around to speak to me again, just to check if I really didnât find him attractive.
As for Zane, I lowered my gaze in anger because I didnât want to hide the truth that the entire argument from the night was caused by him.
âFine! Give me that look. But I only did it because I wasâ,â he paused for a moment and then added, âJealous!â
The instant I heard that word, my heartbeat rose in my chest.
âJealous of what?â I asked, my eyes watching him frown in anger.
âOf thinking about you and my brothers,â his statement left me appalled. He waited for not even a second before sprinting out of the room after his brothers.
I felt a little different than before about him.
âHe was jealous,â I said, and a smile appeared on my lips at the thought of him being jealous. This would be the first time any of my mates were jealous about the idea of seeing me with someone else.
My entire mood changed. I badly wanted my wolf to wake up and tell me if I was still mates with him or not.
Since Helel never walked back again, I decided to go outside and see what was going on.
I went out and found them in the living room. I thought Helel would bring Akin to my room, but from the looks of Akinâs frown, I could tell he didnât want to see me.
My entry into the living room turned the mood darker. Akin raised his brow but kept his face toward his brother.
âDoes that mean we cannot reject her?â Helel asked, probably after telling him the whole story.
âThatâs impossible. It has not happened before,â Akin told Helel, making sure he didnât even pass me a single glance when I came and sat down with them.
âBut then explain the mate bond I felt with her again,â Helel added, and Akin went silent.
âMaybe we need to do some experimenting,â Akin suggested after thinking for a few minutes.
âWhat sort of experimenting?â It was I who interrupted him this time.
I saw his jaw clench as he gave me his side profile and finally turned to look at me.
âWhen the wolfbane runs out of your system, we will need to see if your wolf feels the mate bond with Maddox and Zane,â he informed with a pissed-off look on his face.
âAnd you too!â It was at this moment that Maddoxâs words silenced him.
âWhat? She is not my mate,â Akin didnât waste a single minute before saying that.
âBut it makes sense. She is mated to the three of us. What makes you think you are not her mate?â
Maddox shrugged while Akin looked lost or maybe petrified.
âLeâ,â Akin was probably ready to reject the idea when the door opened and a familiar voice stopped him from talking.
âBeatrice! My daughter,â mom called for me while rushing around in search of me.
