chapter 132 Thirty
Sinful Mates 1-3
Evelyn's POV
âWhat did you do?â I ask wondering if he destroyed another city. Or hurt someone I knew the
possibilities of what he could have done were endless and the suspense was worse than if he would
just spit it out.
âI am the reason you ended up in the foster care systemâ he says making me confused, how
could he possibly be the reason I ended up in the foster care system. He didn't abandon me there.
Oh, that would be so gross and nasty if he turned out to be my father, well technically he is old
enough to be my great grandfather, I think. I would have to remember to ask how old they are.
âWhat do you mean, you're not my father are you because that would be just plain nasty?â I
ask. Thaddeus chuckles âdefinitely not a relation, but I am the reason you ended up in the church.â
âHow so?"
âWell remember how my aunty said you smelt familiar?â I nod, remembering his aunty and
father stating the same thing.
âMy aunt and father were following me and stumbled across you just outside of Parse, your
parents were killed when I destroyed the town, they were living in. So, my father and aunty heard
you crying and dug you out of the rubble. They didn't know what to do with you, so they dropped
you to the old nun conventâ he says watching me carefully.
I sit up trying to make sense of his words.
âWhat were their names do you know?" Thaddeus nods his head running his hands up my
thighs making me look down at him. I didn't know how I felt, shocked if anything.
âYes, Michael and Sara Carter,â he tells me, so that means my parents were married. I nod.
âAnything else about them?â
âJust that by the autopsy reports your mother recently given birth and that they both had drug
charges and petty crime charges on their recordsâ Evelyn Carter I thought, hmm think I prefer my
made-up last name Harper.
âI like Harper better?â I tell him and he looks confused, and I can feel confusion through the
bond.
âYou're not mad?â I shake my head; how could I be mad at something he did before he met
me? Not only that, if my parents were drug addicts and criminals, chances are, I would have ended
up in foster care anyway.
âNo, chances are I still would have ended up in foster care anyway,â I tell him.
âYou're not mad at all?â he asks again shocked by my reaction.
âNo, I'm a little shocked but I didn't know them to miss them and besides, I have been on my
own all my life. I have no family, never had one so bit hard to miss something I never had right?â I
tell him.
âWe are your family, and you can share mine if you want themâ Thaddeus chuckles pulling me
back down on him. He kisses the top of my head.
âDinner is readyâ Orion sings out from downstairs. I sit up again.
âGood, I am starvingâ I tell Thaddeus before pecking his lips and hopping off him.
Thaddeus and I walk downstairs and discover Orion and Ryland made Tacos. Sitting at the table,
I help myself and Orion hands me a glass of coke. Biting into the Taco, my belly rumbling
embarrassingly loud.
âGood?â Ryland asks and I nod.
âYou need to remind us if you're hungry Evelyn, we don't eat as much Thaddeus and I. And
Ryland hunts when he shifts so forgets to eat real food.â I nod enjoying my food. Thaddeus still
watching me when I remember I wanted to ask how old they are.
Taking a sip of my drink, I ask.
âHow old are you?" Orion chuckles.
âI am surprised you haven't asked already honestly; I wonder if it would weird you outâ he says
biting into his Taco. I shake my head not really caring but also curious.
âI'am 101, but I stopped aging at 30,â Thaddeus answers, which wasn't as Old as I thought he
was going to say. Looking to Ryland he answers.
â172,â I snicker that was old considering he looked a little older than Thaddeus.
âWhat age did you stop aging?â
â35â he answers, and I nod. Looking to Orion he snickers shaking his head.
âWhat?â I ask.
âNothing I can't remember exactly I only know the century.â
âCentury?â I squeak. Exactly how old was he if he canât remember.
âTime wasn't as easy to mark back then. I was born in the fourteen hundred and changed when
I was, I think 27.â I choke on my taco at his answer.
âSo, you're like 700 years old?"
âI think so, maybe a little less,â he says, and I take a sip of my coke trying wash down the taco
that nearly choked me to death.
âWhat was that like?â Orion chuckles.
âDefinitely different than now, no electricity. Everything by horse and carriage. Kings and
queensâ I nod trying to imagine what it would have been like back then to live.
âDo our ages bother you?â
âNo but would have been handy to know you in school, I sucked at history and geography, you
would have been handy back then. Walking talking history bookâ I laugh and Orion nods.
âThat's one way to look at it" he states. I finish my Taco when Thaddeus passes me one of his.
âDoes food taste the same to you guys?â
âYes and no, some things taste the same but for me mostly everything tastes bland except
bloodâ Orion answers.
âTastes the same to me but I was born not changed and same for Ryland, so I can't really
compareâ Thaddeus answers.
When we finish eating, we end up watching TV, When Ryland suddenly gets up.
âWhere are you going?â I ask as he walks past the lounge I was laying on with Orion.
âTo go for a run?â he says bending over and kissing me. Hopping up, he raises an eyebrow at
me.
âWhat are you doing it's a little chilly outside?â
âI want to see you turn into a fluffy poodleâ Ryland huffs.
âI am no poodleâ he states but holds his hand out for me and I grab it, Thaddeus and Orion
following. We walk out back, and I sit on the step, when Ryland starts removing his clothes dumping
them on my lap.
âDoes it hurt?â I ask as he stretches in just his briefs. He shakes his head.
âNot anymore, used to but now I can shift fast it doesnât hurt just a strange sensation.â
âDo you have to worry about fleas?â I ask curious exactly how much like a dog, werewolves are.
Orion laughs and snorts at my question.
âWhat? I actually want to know,â I tell him.
âNo Evelyn I don't get fleas,â he states dryly.
âWhat about...â
âDo you want to watch me shift or ask a million questions?â he says.
âBoth,â I state before the breeze picks up making me shiver. Thaddeus grabs me pulling me
onto his lap and wrapping his arms around me, trying keep me warm from the breeze. It was very
chilling here tonight; it was usually warm even of a night.
I watch as Ryland crouches on the ground before I hear bones snapping and moving and can't
watch, instead clenching my eyes tight shut. The sound alone was horrendous. When I hear no more
snapping, I open my eyes and see a black wolf, his fur looking blue under the moonlight. Hopping
up, I walk over to him and run my fingers through his fur. He rubs himself against me like a cat,
making me laugh and nearly knocking me over. Even in this form he was nearly bigger than me.
âSo, the whole werewolves and the moon is a load of shit?â I ask, looking to Thaddeus. He
shakes his head.
âBut it's not a full moon?â I tell him before looking at the sky.
âNo, but full moons make werewolves stronger, they harness the energy of the moon, makes
them faster a little crazed if they're not careful.â
âWhat about you? You're part werewolf, right? Can you shift?â Ryland takes off heading for the
trees and I walk back sitting on the steps between Thaddeus's legs.
âI can, but a little differently to Ryland, for one I remain on two feet not four and I get fur, but
my face doesn't really change, and I also don't like shifting. Prefer this form.â
âWhy?â
âI don't know just never like shifting. I have more vampire DNA then Lycan, so it feels a little
unnatural if that makes sense.â After a few minutes Thaddeus got up walking back inside and Orion
and I followed.
âWhen will he be back?â I ask yawning. It was getting pretty late, and I wanted to go to bed
soon.
âProbably not till morning, come you should sleep,â Orion says following Thaddeus upstairs.
Sleep came easily, the driving had really taken a toll on me. I was exhausted.
Waking up the next morning, I raced to the bathroom needing to pee. Only when I do I freeze.
No, no. Why do woman have to be cursed with periods, and how awkward being in a house full of
men and vampires. Washing my hands, I duck out looking for my handbag only to find one measly
pad before ducking back into the bathroom. Now I needed to get more. What a topic to bring up in
this house, I thought horrified.
âEvelyn are you okay in thereâ Orion asks when I hadn't come out too embarrassed. Could they
tell?
âAh yeahâ
âThat doesnât sound like a good yeah,â Orion asks. My face flaming red.
âCould you umâ God I have never ever had to ask someone to go to a shop for me. This was
humiliating and I usually kept good track of these sorts of things but being here with them I forgot
about the monthlies.
Opening the door, I see Orion standing there a concerned look on his face.
âWhat wrong?â he asks and I know he can feel my embarrassment through the bond.
âI ah need feminine products,â I tell him looking anywhere but at him.
âAh, yeah we don't have those here.â
âWell duh I need to go to a shop,â I tell him. Orion scratches the back of his neck, and I could
tell he was a little uncomfortable with this topic.
âI might be best off going. It's over three hours by car, just tell me what you need, and I will go
get them.â
âPads and tampons?â I tell him wondering how he doesn't know, like he is as old as dirt surely,
he has been around woman but now he was making this more awkward than it needs to be.
âOkay, I will go get those. Need anything else?â I shake my head and Orion grabs a jacket
before walking downstairs and I follow after him.
Thaddeus walking out of the kitchen with a glass of juice in his hand. âWhere are you going?â
he asks looking toward Orion who was putting his shoes on.
âTo the shop for Evelyn,â he says.
âWhat's wrong?â Kill me now, how fucking awkward.
âShe has her period,â Orion says, and Thaddeus makes a face. âDonât pull faces, I am already
embarrassed enough besides, you have a sister and a mother.â
âI'm not,â he says with a shrug just as Ryland walks in naked only just getting home from his
run.
âWhere are you going?" he asks Orion. For fucks sake, I think to myself.
âWe got a bleederâ Thaddeus states.
âA what?" Ryland asks as I shake my head pinching the bridge of my nose. Men, fucking men
enough said.
âEvelynâ Thaddeus states. Ryland looks over at me raising an eyebrow before it suddenly clicks,
and he makes the same face Thaddeus did.
âHow long does that last for?â
âA couple of days now stop being bloody creeps, its natural bodily functionâ I tell him.
âTo you maybe, not to usâ Ryland states before going upstairs laughing at my red face.
âI will be back in about thirty minutesâ he says, and I nod.
While waiting, I make some toast and coffee before sitting down on the couch and watching
some morning show. Ryland has a shower and Thaddeus was hanging out washing which looked so
strange seeing them do normal things. When he was done, he vacuumed. Finishing my breakfast, I
wash my plate and tidy the kitchen when I hear the front door open. Orion walks in with a huge
duffle bag. Thaddeus turns the vacuum off before Orion walks over to the dining table. He empties
the bag on the table making me gasp.
âDid you buy the whole store?â
âThere were so many, I didn't know which ones to get,â he states.
âLeast you won't run out for a while,â Thaddeus states picking up a packet before dropping it.
âMore like a lifetime. These aren't even pads, these are Depends, for like old people who need
nappies,â I say picking it up.
âIt was in the isle. I thought they were period pants,â he states, and I feel my face heat up.
âWell, looks like I have enough here to last till I actually have incontinence issues when I am an
old ladyâ I state shaking my head. Thaddeus and Orion look at each other giving each other a
strange look.
âWhat?â I ask confused.
âNothing it doesnât matter right now,â Thaddeus says just as Ryland walks out.
âYou need that many for a couple of days, and what is that? Looks like a diaper,â he says picking
up the packet of depends.
âThat's because it is and no I don't need all these just this packetâ I state holding up a small
packet. Before chucking the rest back in the bag. Ryland opens a packet up. âlooks like a surfboardâ
he states, and I snatch it off him.
âWell, if you're done embarrassing me, you can go away,â I tell them taking the packet and
marching upstairs. I can hear them laughing amongst themselves. Man, the next couple days were
going to be long. I would need to remember to get the depo shot so I don't have this discomfort
happen again, bloody man babies.
The next week past by slowly but when Thaddeus went to the city to get supplies with Orion
and Ryland. I used that opportunity to finally reply back to Lana. She ended up ringing me.
âHey,â I answer my phone happy to hear her voice
âCan you come see me today?â she asks.
âNo, I am not in the city anymore. I can try to meet you in a couple days. Can you get to Leven,
it's halfway to where I am?â I tell her.
I hear her ask April before she answers.
âApril said she can drive me to meet you.â I didn't like the idea of having to see April but knew
it would be the only way to see Lana, so I agreed.
âOkay, how about the park near the train station at around lunchtime on Monday?â I ask and
she asks April. I hear April tell her that would be fine.
We chat for a while before hanging up, now I just had to try and convince one of them to take
me to either meet her or wait for a chance to sneak out and find a way to get there. Hopefully, they
agree, or I might have to take Thaddeus's mustang from the garage that he never uses. I knew how
to drive, but the whole problem would be getting the keys.00
