chapter 36
Sinful Mates 1-3
Looking at the time, it was nearly time to finish up. I was exhausted and for once actually
excited to go home to my prison. I needed sleep. I was mentally and physically exhausted, and my
brain felt like mush from constantly looking at screens all day. When it was nearly time to knock off,
I switched everything off and decided to go down to the foyer and see if I could find Tom.
I grabbed my bag and headed for the elevator. Once on the foyer floor, I walked over to the
counter at the front. Merida, the lady that brought us dinner the night we stayed back late, was at
the counter on the phone arguing with someone who wanted to organise a meeting. After a few
minutes of me waiting she become annoyed and slammed the phone down hanging up on the
person. She ran her fingers through her blonde hair and let out a breath.
âHi Imogen,â she said. Her voice sounded tired.
âWhat happened to the other lady that was working here? I thought you worked on the tech
floor?â
âI normally do, but the bitch quit and now I am stuck here till they find a replacementâ She
sighed clearly annoyed and tired.
âSo, what brings you down here Imogen? Where are Tobias and Theo?â She glances around
nervously looking for them
âWhy does everyone do that? Look around nervously at the mention of them?â I ask her
curious, was I the only one not terrified by them.
âYou for real, the vibes they give offâ She shakes her head. âI don't know how you work all day
up there with them. I do not envy you, having to work under them. I still remember last time when
Theo went postal and nearly strangled Max for interrupting him during a meeting, poor bloke quit,
and I transferred to the tech floor. I was originally one of their secretaries, I couldn't handle the
hours or tension of working up there. They are way too intense. I don't know how you do it, girl.â
âMax?â
âOh, he was here just before you started here, apparently he works for a rival company now,
they used to be friends but after that not so much.â
Jealousy coursed through me knowing she worked for them, although I could tell she feared
them I couldn't help but wonder, if they were attracted to her and treated her like they did me. I
shook the thought away wondering where my sudden jealousy surged from. I didn't want to think
of them with another woman, though she didn't seem like she was involved with them sexually.
âSo, what brought you down here. I know it wasn't for a friendly chatâ she asked looking up at
me from her seated position. I completely forgot my original intentions of coming down here.
âI was actually looking for Tom, have you seen him?"
âHe is probably in the back officeâ Back office I thought he was a cleaner. Do they have offices
now?
âThe cleaners office?â
âHuh what are talking about? Tom works in publicity, little OCD if you ask me, I sometimes see
him cleaning up around here, caught him mopping the floors the other day. I actually thought he
was demotedâ She chuckled. Now that was weird Tom told me he was a janitor. What the hell was
going on around here?
âJust follow that corridor down and you should see his office on the leftâ She told me pointing
to the corridor next to the stairs. I turned and started walking towards it when I was stopped.
âImogen wait up.â Oh for god's sake, I groaned. I liked Mark but was really hoping I didnât run
into him today, I really needed to speak to Tom. I stopped and turned around to face him. I watched
Mark jog over to me from wherever he just come from. I like Mark but sometimes he could be a flirt,
although I knew he was harmless and just overly friendly. I didnât want Theo and Tobias getting mad
if they see me speaking to him after this morning's incident.
Mark stopped in front me, his brown eyes lit up and he smiled before running a hand through
is black hair. He was a good-looking bloke with his strong build, but I didn't find him attractive like
Theo or Tobias. He embraced me in a hug, and I stepped back looking around nervously.
âI haven't seen you at the hospital in a while. How is your mum?â he asked. I swallowed. No one
other than a handful of people knew my mother was even in hospital and I hadn't really spoken to
Mark or seen him to let him know what happened.
âUm the hospital pulled the plug; she passed awayâ I looked away trying not to show how
much her death has hurt me.
âOh, Imogen I'm sorry to hear that, if you need someone to talk to you have my number,â he
said grabbing my hand. I pulled my hand away before speaking.
âAnd your sister how is she doing?â I asked changing the topic from my life.
âShe is doing better, still a long way to go but they have started her on a trial drug now, hoping
the results come back good.â
âThat's great Mark, well I have to go see someoneâ I said turning away when his hand grabbed
my elbow gently. I stopped and turned back to him.
âI have been wondering if you would, likeâ He suddenly stopped looking behind me. Just as I
was about to turn and see what he was looking at. Strong warm arms wrapped around my waist
tugging me toward them. I flinched I knew instantly it was Tobias, he swept my hair over my
shoulder, then lent his head down kissing my neck softly. Mark watched and took a step back. I
looked at him apologetically.
âI was wondering where you went,â Tobias said. I could hear the anger in his words and Mark
paled a little.
âWell, I will catch up with you next time Imogenâ Mark said eyeing Tobias before all but running
away. I sighed and turned in Tobias's arms.
âDid you have to do that? Seriously Tobias sometimes you can be a bit muchâ Tobias let go of
me and glared down at me.
âI don't want you talking to him again, is this why you left without letting us know? To come see
mark?â Really, he thinks I am trying to run off with Mark. I rolled my eyes and Tobias grabbed my
chin forcing me to look up at him. âYou are ours nobody else'sâ his words made my stomach tighten
from the dominance and control behind his words, I liked the sound of being theirs when I knew I
shouldn't.
âWhy were you down here without us?â Theo walked over to stand next to him clearly having
heard our conversation. My eyes glanced toward him and Tobias let go of chin.
âI was looking for Tom, geez. Nothing sordid going onâ I was well aware of Meridaâs eyes on us
and probably other workers watching me be questioned as well. I wanted to run just to avoid their
speculative gazes.
Tobias and Theo both watched me, seeing if I was telling the truth. I wouldn't lie they would
know instantly besides I am a terrible liar.
âCome on time to go home,â Tobias said grabbing my hand.
âI just want to see Tom really quick I will only be a secondâ I said moving away and toward
where Merida said his office is. Theo's hand caught my other hand and they pulled me back.
âYou aren't to go wandering without us Imogen, you can see Tom another time, when we are
present understoodâ Theo told me. Anger rose in me. I tried to pull away but gave up when they
started tugging me toward the exit. I knew if I caused a scene Tobias would lose it. So instead, I let
them pull me to the car that was waiting out the front.
Tobias opens the passenger door and waits for me to get in before shutting the door behind
me, he hopped in the driver's side and started the car. I waited until he pulled out and started
driving through the traffic. I turned to look at him, now deciding I would confront him over
humiliating me, since we were no longer at work and had no witnesses.
âWas that necessary, seriously Tobias why would you do that and why can't I see Tom?â He
ignored my question. âPut your seatbelt on Imogenâ Tobias growled out. I crossed my arms across
my chest.
âWhy did you have to go scare Mark off like that he is good bloke. You just humiliated him and
me" My voice getting higher.
âI don't want you talking to someone who is clearly interested in being more than friend
Imogen, you will do as I say. Now put your fucking belt onâ Like hell I will, they canât control me like
that. Tobias jerked the car to the side and Theo grabbed the back of my seat from the sudden
movement to steady himself. Tobias turned and glared at me, before reaching across me and
grabbing my seatbelt and plugging it in before taking off again.
âWhy you always have to get under his skin for Imogenâ I looked over at Theo who was picking
up documents, that fell in the footwell from Tobias's erratic driving. Great, just fucking great now
they were both ganging up on me.
âYou weren't there you didnât see what he did Theo so butt outâ I heard him growl behind me.
âI saw the entire thing Imogen and you may think Mark is being friendly, but he wants more
than just to hang out with you. Don't just assume because you can't see us that we aren't watchingâ
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms before closing my eyes and sitting back in my chair.
When we got back home, Theo opened my door, Tobias had stormed into the house.
âLook I'm sorry for snapping at you, Tobias is just on edge and so am I and seeing him with you
just became too muchâ I looked at him before taking his hand letting him pull me to my feet. He
pulled me into a hug and kissed my head.
âWe can make it up to you, Tobias has a surprise for you anyway, it should have been delivered
while we were at workâ
âIs it an Internet connection?â I asked hopeful. Theo chuckled pulling me towards the house.
âNo, but I will have someone come out and fix that, if it such an issue for you.â
I nodded excitedly. âOh my god yes this place is boringâ he pulled me into him when we
reached the door, leaning in his lips going to my neck sucking on it before breathing in my scent.
âI can think of a few ways to keep you entertained,â he said nipping at my neck. I leaned into
him and squeezed my legs together trying to stop the sudden ache. Tobias walked out wondering
what was taking so long.
âIf I can't have her neither can you,â he said leaning on the door frame watching us. I reached
out and grabbed his hand pulling him towards me. His warm body pressing into my back, as he
pulled my head to the side kissing me deeply. His tongue tasting every inch of my mouth, making
me moan and my panties to dampen.00000000
