Chapter 469 - 469 THE OUTCOME
Tangled By Fate
469 THE OUTCOME
âYour Majesty, the person who allowed this slave trade isâ¦.â
The nobleman who opened his mouth couldnât speak anymore. His words were stuck.
Other noble prisoners looked at him, curious about why he didnât talk anymore.
That nobleman who was talking grabbed his neck. His eyes turned bloodshot. His mouth was wide open.
Only then did others realize that he had a hard time speaking.
Before they could say something, the noble coughed blood.
Along with the red blood, dark liquid came out.
The nobleman looked at the dark liquid in horror.
âAhh⦠Ah⦠Ahâ¦â
.....
He screamed in horror but peopleâs screams covered his.
The prisoners and the commoners stared at him in shock. They were terrified beyond the limit.
Why did he cough? What was that black liquid mixed with the blood?
Why did he cough something like that?
They didnât know. That made them horrified beyond the limit.
King Williamâs expression darkened. âArthurâ¦â
Arthurâs expression wasnât good. He said, âDonât move, Your Majesty. We donât know what we are dealing with.â
The nobleman vomited more blood. He kept vomiting until he collapsed in his own blood.
The soldier stepped forward cautiously after being signaled by Arthur.
When he approached the noble, he first kicked his leg. The nobleman didnât move.
The soldier crouched beside him and touched his nose.
Then, he stood up and said, âThis man is dead, My Lord.â
The audience gasped. They didnât believe it.
No one touched him. He wasnât supposed to die.
But why did that happen?
âCould it be poison?â King William asked.
Arthur pondered. âWe canât be sure until we examine his body.â
âI wish Merlin was here. He is knowledgeable when it comes to medicine and the human body,â King William commented.
âHe is still in Louses, Your Majesty. I havenât heard from him ever since he left,â Arthur said.
Afterward, he used teleportation magic to teleport the dead body to the Magic Tower.
He looked at other prisoners and ordered, âFinish what he was going to say.â
The nobles gulped. They were already pale and scared to the point that they could wet their pants.
Looking at how calm Arthur was, they concluded that Arthur was behind the nobleâs death.
Arthur could use magic to kill anyone and those who never studied magic would never understand.
âI know who did it! Itâsâ¦â
âItâs the Imperial Majestyâ¦â
âHer Maâ¦â
The noblemen who were prisoners were quick to speak.
However, none of them could finish their words.
Eighteen prisoners struggled to talk. In the end, they all had painful seizures just like the previous nobleman.
After that, they puked blood with the black liquid and died.
Duke De la Pole stared at them in shock. He was too scared to move.
The commoners shouted and ran away. They were frightened to the point they didnât know where they were going.
They just ran away, away from the horrifying place.
Arthur noticed the scene and immediately teleported the dead bodies to the Magic Tower.
âI want a thorough investigation,â King William ordered.
âMost certainly.â Arthurâs golden pupils flickered. He clenched his fists. He was barely controlling his anger.
âWe were this close to unmasking the damned queen! I canât believe we lost evidence when everything was about to be revealed.â
He was frustrated but didnât reveal it in front of King William.
He looked at Duke De la Pole. The dukeâs face had ashen. He didnât move as if he was paralyzed.
âIâll just lock him in the dungeon. It doesnât look like he can talk at this moment,â Arthur stated.
King Williamâs eyes landed on the duke. âDuke De la Pole, why not you say who is behind the slave trade?â
Duke De la Pole trembled. He looked at King William with tears in his eyes.
âWhat should I do? I donât think I should open my mouth. The other nobles⦠all died. Isnât it because they wanted to speak of Her Majesty? I canât speak. Absolutely canât!â
However, the next second he remembered something. His stomach was still hurting.
âThat girl didnât heal me yet. She told me to reveal Her Majesty. What should I do? If I speak, I will die. If I donât speak up, I wonât be healed and eventually die.â
Being in a position he hated the most but still fearing he was going to die soon, he felt powerless.
He opened his mouth but couldnât speak.
Fear was eating him slowly, paralyzing his nerves.
King William noticed his situation and sighed. âIt looks like we canât do anything. Send him to the dungeon. Iâll go back to the palace.â
âAll right, Your Majesty,â Arthur replied.
The trial had ended. Most of the criminals were dead. Even the slave traders were wiped out.
All the dead bodies ended up in the Magic Tower.
When Arthur went to his office, he met Ovior, Darius, Ironin and Felix.
âYou are all here. Good.â Arthur sat on his chair and put his legs on the table. âHave you found anything?â
Ovior took off his glasses and cleaned them with a white handkerchief.
âIâm pretty sure you have figured it by now,â he said. âItâs witchcraft.â
âIt can be the Queenâs doing,â Felix shared his opinion.
âNot âcould beâ. She IS behind it,â Arthur said.
âWorking with the witches now, eh? This Queen is one step ahead of us.â Darius grinned.
âBut if he is using the witches, isnât she as powerful as you guys? Both of you have armies who know magic,â Felix stated while leaning against the chair.
Ovior frowned. âIf that damn Queen is thinking the same thing, we might have trouble.â
Arthur squinted his eyes. âWe have to warn His Majesty,â he muttered.
âBut the duke has no army. We subdued them last night,â Darius told them.
He added, âYou should have seen your wife. Right after taking down the slave traders, she fought with the dukeâs soldiers. Man, his soldiers are all puny. It didnât take us all night to deal with them.â
âSo, you are so incompetent that you made her fight all night.â Arthurâs gaze sharpened. âYou should be lucky that she doesnât have a scratch on her body.â
Darius gulped. Chills ran down his spine.
âAhahaha⦠What are you saying? You do realize that only five of us fought with two thousand soldiers, right? You shouldnât count the villagers who donât even know how to fight.â
Arthur glared at him. He didnât say anything else.
âShould we prepare for a battle with the witch?â
.....
