Chapter 23

Lina invites us - me and Logan - to her house today and when we arrived there, Asher was here too. My parents, Leo and Sage decided to escort us. They took as an excuse that the house is outside the pack land but warriors could have escort us and who will be crazy enough to attack a Lycan’s house? No, they are coming because they are curious about something. I don’t know if they just want to see the Lycan’s house or if it’s something else. I mean why come only to see a house.

The house or should I rather say the mansion is huge and impressive. Very modern but hidden in the middle of nature. I didn’t even know there was such a nice house so close to our land. After Lina proposed something to drink, we are following her to a gym/ training room. She gives us sports clothes and asks us to go to change. When we come back, she and Asher had changed too.

“I asked you to come because I’m going to train you. Well, I will be training you in your wolf form. Asher will be the one training you in human form.” Lina explains.

“Why Asher will be training us in human form? We’re the futures Alpha and Beta, we are stronger than him.” I reply.

“Do you want to test that theory?” Asher asks, smirking.

“Sure!” I reply sure of myself.

Now I know why they all come, they knew why Lina wanted to see us and they wanted to see our first training.

"Game on! His smirk will fall once we’re done with him." My wolf comments exciting by the challenge. If it’s really a challenge.

Bad idea... My ego took a huge blow! Asher has kicked my ass and Logan’s ass too. How is it even possible?!

“Now you can see why I want them to be trained by Asher in human form. In their wolf forms, they are stronger than him but as he is training with me and Tom for years, they are no matched in human form.”

“Wow, you’re impressive son!” Sage comments in awe.

“Do you trust me to train them now?” Lina asks my parents.

Dad nods and bows: “I do. Sorry for not trusting you.”

Mom adds: “We just want the best for our son.”

Lina nods: “Do you want to see the first training?”

I’m looking at them. Nope! The show is over now! Mom looks at me and nods in understanding.

“No, we have work to do. Thank you.” She replies before dad can say something and I can see his disappointment.

"Thanks, mom!" I mindlink her.

"You’re welcome Punkin. Love you!"

We trained for 2 hours and a half, mostly in human forms and Asher is a formidable fighter! And a good teacher. No wonder why his dance classes are so successful at the packhouse. I still can believe that he kicked my ass so easily! Right now, we are taking a break. We are sitting in the kitchen eating some cookies. Asher is really comfortable with Lina and they are teasing each other for the last 20 minutes.

“Why are you still here again?” Asher asks her.

“Enjoying the show. I have nothing else to do right now. I mean you saw all my drama, it’s my time to see your. I mean yours and Lana’s love lives are as chaotic as mine was. ” She replies nonchalantly.

Logan laughs: “True. It’s so funny to see Ezra gets flustered every time he sees Lana. Fortunately, his wolf has some balls!”

“Fuck you!” I reply and I shut my wolf out when I feel that he wants to tease me too.

Asher laughs too before to add: “Yeah, that’s funny to see but seriously why are you still here? I mean, Noah could come only for training Lana every day you don’t really have to stay here.”

Lina sighs: “I’m evaluating them.” She’s pointing us. “Lana and you are part of my private circle and you will become ones of us soon and this is implying that they might become lycans too.”

“I thought only the Queen and the King could turn someone into a Lycan. Or your mate.” Logan asks surprise.

“Or the future queen...” Lina mutters looking down.

Asher laughs:” You really don’t know who she is? There is not a lot of Lycans mates with a witch who was able to keep his magic. And Lina? Don’t it remind you something?”

“What?” I say.

“Lina is a short name for Selina.”

Logan and I choke.

“You mean as Selina Keystone, as our future queen!” I say.

She sighs:” Yeah, that’s me... but I’m trusted you to not say a word about my real identity.”

“Fuck...” Logan whispers in awe.

“But I saw a picture you’re not looking like our future queen!” I comment.

“I’m using a charm to protect my identity. Witch mate and witches friends are helping.”

“So Lana will become a Lycan!” I mutter more for myself.

“Shoot! I didn’t see what time it is. I need to go! My students are waiting for me! See you later!” Asher says running away. Today is dance classes.

Lina looks at me intensively: “Why are you so bothering by the fact Lana might become a Lycan?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about?”

“Do I have to order you to know the truth?” She asks me raising her right eyebrow.

I sigh: “I don’t want her to have another mate.”

“And why she would have another mate?”

“Because all Lycans have.” I shrug.

“You didn’t listen well to your history classes, don’t you?”

“Nope, he hated it.” Logan answers for me.

Lina shakes her head: “Moon Goddess blessed werewolves with mates to avoid her children to live without being complete but she doesn’t have the power to know if the mates she pairs together are the real soulmates. She doesn’t have that knowledge. Us, Lycans, as our instincts are stronger we can feel our true soulmate. So if the Moon Goddess found your true match you don’t have another mate when you become a Lycan.”

“Still there is a risk Lana might have another mate.“I comment.

“Then let me ask you: Did you feel drawn by her before you knew she was your mate? Do you remember the first time you see her? Did she occupy your thoughts even before you turned 16?"

"Yes but-" I start but she cuts me.

"Then there is no reason she is not your true mate."

"How can you be so sure? How do you know I was already attracted to her even before I knew she was my mate? Are you sure?" I ask her.

"Trust me." She says with a warm smile.

"Or you can also tell him that you are able to feel when people are true mate or not. And gave him the peace he deserves." Noah says at the kitchen's door.

She scowls: "You're not funny, love. You are killing all my fun! And It's not true. I feel it sometimes but not all the time."

"But when you feel it, you're always right." Noah replies.

"So Am I her true mate?" I ask with hope.

"Yes, you're." She confirms and I let go the breath that I didn't know I was keeping.

"What about Asher?" Logan asks.

"Asher will not like my answer..." Lina mutters.

"What does that mean? Mariana is his true mate or not?" He asks again.

"She is but don't get your hope too high. As Lycan, he will be able to mark whoever he wants, true mate or not but instead of werewolves, there is no turning back. If he marks another mate, there is nothing she could do to change that."

"Okay." He says already lost in his thoughts.

"How was training with Lana?" I ask Noah to change the subject.

"She's doing well. She is strong." He replies with pride.

"But she was not focused today. I think she was missing you, your wolf, I mean." He adds.

"I should go then! They love speaking to each other!" I say jumping for my chair and eager to see her.

"Wait! She is hearing your wolf when she can't mindlink anyone?!" Noah asks surprised.

"Yes, she can. I don't know how but she can hear his thoughts but I don't know if she only realized it."

"This is good! It's the mate bond! The more time you spend with her the more it will grow and get stronger. I think it the way to breaking the alpha mark. Nothing is stronger the mark of your mate." Lina says.

"Good! I will work on getting our mate bond stronger then!" I reply in hope.
