(Her)

We are walking toward the cafeteria with Ash who just told me that Friday, in 3 days, he will become a Lycan and he wants me to be here. I knew he wanted to become one but I didn’t expect it so soon. That would explain why he’s acting weird since this morning... Like right now when he’s pushing me to walk faster. Or maybe he’s just super hungry... I don’t know he is just not acting like his normal self. Anyway, we will speak about it when we will be sitting with our food.

We are in the line when the music Bad Roman by Lady Gaga comes through all the speakers. Oh, I love Lady Gaga! Ash taps my shoulders and with a nod, he tells me to look on my back. When I turn back, I see Ezra at the entrance of the cafeteria and then he does something that I have never expected: he starts to dance looking at me. I can see that he had learned choreography. For sure, Ash helped him. I have to say he has a lack of flexibility but I know how it’s costing him to dance like that in front of all the students. Goddess! He is so hot and sexy right now, that I’m biting my lips looking at him.

When the song is over, a lot of people applaud him and I’m applauding with them too. He walks towards me and I can feel that I’m blushing, hard.

“I can’t see my life without you. I can’t be an Alpha with you by my side as my Luna. Please, give me a chance.” He tells me.

He rolls his eyes and adds:” I mean me and my wolf can’t see our life without you.”

I bit my lips to hide my smile.

" You really need to work on your flexibility but that was so sexy!” I tell him, low almost whispering as I don’t want everyone to hear what I’m telling.

I can see him worried about my answer but I can even say No to that. I mean he danced for me! Not the best dance I have seen but he did it for me! In front of everyone! That’s so adorable!

“I don’t know how long I have here and I will do anything to protect you and the pack but I want to enjoy my time left with you. So, yes! I want to try.”

“Really?” He asks his eyes full of hope.

I nod and people cheer. I’m blushing even more if it’s possible.

“Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!” He says taking me in his arms.

Even if I’m surprised, I hug him back.

“Go on a date with me on Saturday, please?” He whispers in my ear.

“With pleasure!” I whisper back.

“Can we go eat now? I’m starving!” Logan asks in Ezra’s back.

Ash shakes his head: ” Way to break the moon, bro!”

Ezra looks at me and says: “Can we eat together?”

“Yes.” I reply and it’s only now that I look around us and see that Selina, Noah, and Angelina are here too.”

“Dude, you’re not flexible at all!” Logan teases Ezra.

“Shut up!” He replies annoyed.

“The good thing is Lana is flexible for both of you! If you see what I mean.” Logan keeps going smirking.

I punch him in his left arm. Making the others laugh.

We are eating altogether when Mariana approaches our table. She looks sad. I really need to find out what’s going on with her!

“Hey!” She tells us

We all say hello back except Ash who is ignoring her.

She clears her throat and says: “ Can I speak to you Asher, privately, please?”

“I have nothing to say to you!” He replies with venom.

“Please, I will not be long.” She begs.

“You have something to tell me you can say it in front of them.” He says.

“As you wish...” She whispers before clearing her throat again and adds: “ I, Marian Wester, accept your rejection of Asher Stone.” And before one of us can react she has already left.

“What?!” Ash says.

“You have what you wanted! You’re happy now?” Logan says before running after his sister.

I’m waiting outside Mariana’s room. I need to make sure she is fine. She rolls her eyes when she sees me and sighs.

“What are you doing here?” She asks me.

“I’m checking on you.”

“I don’t need your pity!” She replies coldly.

“It’s not because I don’t pity you. I’m your friend and I know how mates are important to you, so you took me by surprise.”

She sighs and opens her door. I follow her inside.

“I need to move on, it’s time. There is nothing I can do to fix my mistakes anymore?”

“There is always a way!”

“Not this time...”

She looks tired and pale.

“You would tell me if something happened, right?” I ask, worried.

“Don’t worry Lana. I just don’t know who I am and what I really want.”

“You’re sure?”

“I swear.”

I nod. There is no point trying, she doesn’t want to tell me. Still, something is not right. I don’t know why but I have the feeling that she will be leaving soon.

“I heard that Ezra danced in the cafeteria?” She asks me to change the subject.

“Yeah... That was so hot. Though he needs to work on his flexibility. He is as stiff as a post but still, he was damn sexy!” I reply smiling.

“Good thing you’re flexible enough for the both of you! So sex will be great!” She teases me. I facepalm myself. She is like her brother. She laughs seeing my reaction.

“He asked me for a date on Saturday. Will you help me to get ready?” I tell her.

“Yeah... Sure...” She says in a small voice not looking at me. She just confirmed to me that she will not be here anymore on Saturday.

“Thank you!” I say hugging her and she’s surprised by my action. I just need a drop of her blood. And I will be able to create a sisterhood spell. With that, I will be able to feel if she is in danger.

“Ouch!” She jumps.

“Sorry! I broke one of my nails today. And I’m so excited!” I reply looking apologetic.

“You’re strong, be careful when you hug people and fix your nail before hurting someone else.”

“I will, sorry again. I have to go. I have to meet Noah. See you later?”

“Yeah, Lana. See you later. And thank you for giving me a chance and being my friend.”

That sounds like a goodbye for me...

We hear a noise in my back and when I look I can see a little boy hidden in the bush.

“Come sweety. We will not hurt you.” Mel says.

“He will have to forget what he saw.” I tell her.

“I know but it will not harm him so stop scaring him!” Mel replies annoyed.

“What is your name, sweety?” She adds kneeling in front of the boy.

“Asher, Madam!”

“Asher, what a nice name! Can I ask you a favor?” I ask, kneeling too.

Asher nods.

“I need to befriend my little angel. She will need a friend, after all, she has been through and she will have trust issues.” I explain to him.

“I will, Madam!” Asher promises.

“Swear it in your blood.” I ask him.

“No! Are you crazy? He’s 5, 6 max. He will not swear on his blood.” My dear sister protests.

“I don’t mind.” Asher shrugs.

“See! Where is the problem?” I say looking at her.

“The problem is he’s too young!” She rolls her eyes. Always judging me, miss perfection!

“His wolf is already bonding with her. So it’s not needed.” Jane says.

“What’s her name?” Asher asks.

Mel and I look at Jane.

“Lana.” She replies smiling at the sleeping girl in her arms.

I’m wide awake!

“Oh, Goddess! This is all my fault! He would have been happy with his mate without me.” I whisper.

“No, it’s not!” Ezra replies back.

“What?! How do you know what I’m thinking about.” I ask him.

“Because I saw your dream.”

“Again! I really need to stop sharing my dreams with him!” I whisper for myself, hiding my face in my hands.

“I heard that.”

I sigh and turn my back to him. I’m still feeling that he’s sleeping on the sofa. After 5 minutes, when I realize I can’t sleep anymore, I speak again: “Are you sleeping?”

“No...”

“Can you give me a hug, please?”

“Sure!” He replies. He moves so fast that He’s already in bed before he finishes his word.

I’m half asleep when I tell him:” hmmm... You smell so good.”

“I heard that too.” I know he’s smirking! That annoys me and I’m awake again.

“Whatever!” I reply.

“You smell good too... Can you stop hiding your scent, please?” He whispers.

“Okay...” I whisper back and let down my barrier. He inhales deeply.

“Goddess! I miss it!”
