Chapter 3

(Him)

I know even if I don’t see her that she is rolling her eyes to me. My wolf and I can feel it! How dares she! I never did anything to her. I have never bullied anyone and I’m nice to everybody. I know she despairs me because of my status but this is so unfair! She makes me feel like I’m the Big bad Alpha.

“We are the Big bad Alpha!” My wolf jokes.

“I know but this is so annoying!” I tell him and I can feel him agreeing.

“Maybe her previous Alpha was evil and now she is scared of Alpha.” He says

“Maybe but I proofed thousands of times that I will be a fair Alpha like our father.”

“Hi.” She just says and my heart starts to beat wildly. Why does she have this effect on me? I don’t understand.

“Hey!” I reply acknowledging her with a nod.

“Where is your sister? She was just on my side a few seconds ago?” I ask Logan surprise to no see Mari anymore.

“No idea, she just disappears.” He shrugs.

"She is acting weird. We need to find what is up with her." I tell him through our mindlink.

"I know. We will find what’s going on with her." He replies.

“So... We were thinking that we can eat together and spending the evening together. Like that, we could catch up.” Logan says to Asher.

“It’s a good idea!” Lana replies smiling and touching Asher’s arm.

“We were not speaking to you!” I say defensively.

“I know that! You don’t have to be an ass!” She replies sighing.

She looks at Asher and tells him: ” I’m going to wait for you at the car.”

“Welcome back and bye.” she says only looking at Logan and she leaves us.

“What’s your problem?” Ashers asks me clearly annoyed.

“I didn’t do anything wrong. She is the one ignoring me.”

“Maybe if you’re nicer she wouldn’t!”

“I’m her future Alpha, she needs to respect me!” I reply.

“Calm down! If we want to get closer to him you need to calm. And you were really rude dude!” I heard Logan’s voice in my head.

He is right. I sigh: ” Sorry, it’s my first day back and between our first days and everybody looking at us, I’m tensed.”

He smiles and says:” Dude, you’re the future Alpha. All your life, people will be looking at you. So better to get used to it.”

I smile at his joke, it’s nice to see our Asher is still the same.

“I should go, Lana is waiting for me. At what time do you want me to come tonight?” He adds.

“Around 7:00. We will order pizzas.” Logan replies.

“Good! This should be fun. See you later.” He says before leaving.

Asher arrived at 7:00 sharp and even if it was weird at the beginning as we didn’t know what to say to each other. The more the evening is going the more, the discussion is flowing easily. It’s nice to spend time together. I missed it. Even before Logan and I went for our training camp, we were spending less and less time together, Asher was always away with his dance’s competitions.

“So, second years in law. Why did you choose that?” Logan asks Asher.

“Well, I like laws and as I knew you will never study it, it was the best choice. I mean as the future leads of the pack, if one of us knows the laws, it’s an asset. And it’s really interesting. ”

“I don’t know how you could like it. Laws are so complicating and changing all the time.” I comment.

If you may ask Logan and I are studying for a degree in Business development and marketing. We will take control of the companies owned by the pack at the same time we will become Alpha and Beta. The future Gamma is freer to chose what he will study as he will spend a lot of time with his Luna but until I find her we don’t know what role she would like to take. One of our allies, the luna is also a doctor and the Gamma is working in the hospital with her.

My mom loves kids and she used to work in the daycare when she met my father. Sage, Asher’s father, and my mother’s Gamma, had studied business with my dad and Leo, Logan’s father. They were really close and he was scared to have to work in the daycare as he didn’t imagine himself working with kids. He was so relieved when my mom realized she loved leading and became the co-leader of the pack with my father. They are joking a lot about that. They are all still close and I hope I will have that too. I don’t know what my Luna will be. I want her to be happy and to follow what she wants to do, leading with me, becoming a doctor, or a ...

“Professional dancer...” my wolf comments.

“What?!” I ask him but he just ignores me.

Anyway, what I like about Asher is chose to study law to be an asset for the pack. He is always thinking about what’s best for the people he loves. The only thing I still don’t understand is why he gave up football for dance.

“That cool to think for the pack, bro. I just have a question why dance? I mean you were good a football. Was it just to impress that chick, Lana?” Logan asks him as if he is reading my mind.

“No. I just wanted to try something else.” He shrugs.

“Well that kind of kill your sex appeal, bro.” I tease him.

He laughs:” You would be surprised by how many things dance have taught me about my “sex appeal”. Trust me on that.”

“I don’t see how?” Logan comments skeptical.

He just laughs and shakes his head.

“So... You and Lana? Are you a thing?” Logan asks him to change the subject.

“She is my best friend, I mean my girl best friend as you are my guys best friends.” He replies.

“So he is not your mate? Because from the outside you’re acting like a couple, like mates even.” Logan says and I’m rolling my eyes. This is so annoying!

“Do you have a problem with Lana?” Asher asks me.

“No!” I puff.

“Are you sure because every time we say her name you’re rolling your eyes and every time you see her you are acting like an ass.” He adds.

“She is the one who has a problem with me. She doesn’t like me, while I did nothing wrong!” I defend myself.

“She is scared of Alphas it’s true but the way you act is not helping.”

“And what about your mate? Will she be okay with you be that close with another female?” I ask him. I can see him flinch at the word mate. Looks like it a touchy subject for him too.

“A mate is made for you so she will accept that.” He replies clenching his jaws.

“Don’t be so sure.” He says and he looks away.

“What about your mates?” He asks us.

“I can wait to meet her!” Logan says smiling.

I sigh: “Mine doesn’t want me to find her.”

“How so?” He asks.

“I’ve smelt her twice when we came back for holidays but I lost her tracks each time. Her smell just disappeared. I think she is hiding from me. I would like to know why.”

“Mates are such bullshit. I would dream for you to be my mate, while I’m pitying your.” Mari says from the door. She looks at me in the first part of the sentence then Asher. I can see hurt passes thought his eyes.

“I should go, it’s late. It was nice guys. See you soon.” He says. Longing for her to look at him before leaving.

“What’s wrong with you?” Logan asks her.

“What it’s only the truth. I would not like to always be the second before Lana then before my luna.”

“You know what Ezra? We should be a couple. Maybe like that, your mate will know you have been through with her ignoring her. It’s just payback.” She adds.

“Are you drunk or something?” I ask her.

“Just think about it. Night” She says before she leaves the room.

“Something is really wrong with her.” Logan comments.

“I know!” I agree.
