As we start to walk back into the pack land and stop Liv to speak with her.

“Are you okay?” I ask her as both my wolf and I are worried about her. She nods.

“Do you trust them?” I ask her again.

“I don’t know... Knox and I were closed, inseparable even. But it was a long time ago... But they are family so I hope I can trust them.”

I nod.

“Thank you for coming to my rescue. You heard me?” She asks.

“Yes, I did... So could you please next time give me your position? You almost gave me a heart attack! I was so scared to not find you or not on time.” I tell her.

“Sorry, I panicked and I didn’t think about that.” She replies looking guilty.

I hug her: “I know. I felt your terror. It was awful! My wolf was ready to go on a rampage to find you and kill whoever made you feel that way.”

“How was he able to recognize you?” I ask her.

“The twins bond is a special bond. I can block it so he doesn’t feel me but he’s seeing my soul not my look. No spell can block that, except if you break your twin bond. Our souls recognize each other; this is why I felt him before to see him.”

My wolf growls. ”Mine!" He doesn’t like the idea of her having a connexion with someone else.

“You know he’s my brother? You don’t need to be jealous. He’s not competition for you.” She tells me.

“Tell that to my wolf. He doesn’t like the idea of you sharing a bond with another male.” He replies but I have to say I’m jealous too.

"Easy to put the fault on me!" My wolf comments.

"Hey, I’m not the one who just screamed Mine. You should have been quieter." I defend myself.

"Something is bothering mate." He tells me. He is right she looks almost scared.

“What are you worrying about?” I ask her.

“What if he felt my wolf too?”

He... That’s a monster. He can come. I’m ready for him!

“I don’t think he felt it. It was very faint and I felt it because I’ve casted a spell for it. hypothetically, if he had felt it, he doesn’t kn0w where to find you. I was able to find you because I’m a wizard.” Knox replies before I can. Was he spying on us?

“Let’s go home.” I tell her annoyed with her brother.

When we are at the packhouse, Asher is here with Logan and Angie. They are waiting for us and when he sees Liv he runs toward her. He checks on her to see if she has any injuries and after he hugs her. I know he wanted to come too but my father asked him to wait. Dad is not comfortable yet with him as a Lycan. He was scared that Asher would kill before asking questions. Even if Logan and he are Lycans now they are obeying my father.

“Who are you? You can’t be her mate too.“Knox asks him.

“Who are you?” Asher asks him defensively.

“I asked first!”

Liv sighs: “Knox this Asher my Gamma. Ash this is my twin brother Knox. And over there is my other brother Jonas.”

"She said her Gamma!" I comment to my wolf.

"I know! She is taking her place on our side!" He replies proudly. Yes!

“Let’s speak in my office.” Dad says to everyone.

We are in my father’s office for almost two hours now and I can see Liv is getting tired and worried. I think she needs a break but we are far from finishing. Asher is also looking at her too. He looks at me and I nod lightly to him.

“Lana, when was the last time you ate?” He asked her. He has a lot of difficulty calling her Olivia. He’s the one who spent the most time to call Lana so maybe this is the reason.

“Breakfast.” She replies.

Mom gets up and says: ” I think you can keep going without us. Olivia let’s take a break and eat something. It’s almost 3:00 you should be starving.” Before Liv can reply she takes her hand and they leave the room.

“Good! There are a few things we need to speak about without her here. Knox?” Jonas says. The tension between him and Noah is palpable.

“I did a lot of research about the Alpha mark and your mark will not cancel his mark effects but if any of his orders can arm you she can refuse to do it. The good news is your mark will prevent her death when we will kill him. She will be in pain but her wolf will survive.” Knox says looking at me.

“My mother knows a spell to block a bond temporarily. I will check if it can work to prevent her pain.” Noah says.

“Does she know?” Jonas asks him.

“No. My instincts told me to let her out and I was right because she helps your mother to hide Olivia. If she remembers, your mother will too.”

“What makes you a valuable Mate for my sister?” Jonas asks me.

“Annoying asshole! Who is he to ask that?” My wolf says.

“He’s our mate’s brother. So we know to play it cool.” I reply and he puffs.

“I don’t deserve her. She’s way too good for me but she’s mine. I love her and I will give up everything for her.” I reply looking directly at his eyes.

“I’m not sure that’s enough!” He replies.

“You might be her brother and I would like to have your blessing but even if I don’t have it, it will not change anything.We belong together!” I tell him ready to fight.

“I like you!” Knox says.

“You have my blessing but if you hurt her I will destroy you!” He adds.

“Noted.” I tell him.

“One last thing, you can’t mark her until we’re ready.” He says.

“What?! I will mark her when I want and she will be ready!” I protest.

“When you mark her, you will break the spell blocking her wolf. Alpha Will will feel her.” Noah says.

“But he doesn’t know where she is and where to look?” I say.

“No, but he can call for her and order to come back. She will be able to resist at times but it will become more and more painful until she will not be able to resist.” Knox explains.

“What if we block her wolf right after they marked each other?” Lina asks.

“We will have to be here with them, sunshine. I don’t think they will like that.”

“I sure don’t!” My wolf comments.

“Me neither!” I tell him.

“And we don’t know if it will work. There is a high risk she will have her first shift right after the mark. Her wolf wanted to meet her mate.” Jonas says.

“Yesterday, her eyes changed and we felt her wolf because she was jealous. A girl hit on Ezra and didn’t accept no as an answer.” Angie says.

“Yeah... My wolf is longing to meet hers.” I add.

“Then, no doubt she will shift right after you mark her.” Knox says.

Great...

“So if you want to mate her at the same time, have sex with her before to mark her...” Logan jokes.

He’s joking, right? If not I’m going to kill him.

“You really don’t know when you have to shut your mouth! I can’t see you make this kind of a joke in front of my parents.“Lina tells him.

Noah laughs. “Can’t wait to see your father’s face.”

“I’m just trying to cheer Ezra up. Mom always says humor is the best way to cheer up someone.” He defends himself.

“Yes, but her sense of humor is better than yours.” Leo comments.

“Maybe but it worked as he’s not thinking about it anymore.”

“Yeah, now he wants to kill you. Not sure it’s the best plan...” Angie tells him.

“Do you have another plan?” He asks and when nobody replies he adds: “I thought so.”

He looks serious and says looking at me: “ I know it’s not good news and I wish your mating would be more simple and spontaneous but we will have your back whatever happens whenever it’s happening. We will follow your pace, not the other way.”

“Thank you!” I reply.

Sure he doesn’t know when to stop teasing me but he also knows what I want to hear and this is why he’s my Beta.

“No hugs?! No, I love you, bro!? I’m disappointed.” He teases me.

That jerk! He can’t be serious for more than 5 minutes,I think smiling.
