(Him)

I left the party just after Asher. I'm following Logan and Mari's smells to find them. They went into the wood to be able to speak privately far from their parents.

"I'm going to kill him! He rejected you, didn't he?" I hear Logan screams.

"No, he didn't. I'm the one who doesn't want him." Mari reply.

"What?!" He is surprised.

"Did you reject him?" He asks after a minute of silence.

"No, I didn't."

"Then why?" He says.

"I... What do you want me to say?"

"What do you want Mari? You need to decide what you gonna do, either accept him or reject him because going like this will only getting you hurt. Both of you." I tell her, joining them.

"Since how long do you know?" Logan asks her.

"Look Logan, this is n-" She starts.

"How long Mariana?" He cuts her.

"Since my 16th birthday party."

"So you are not marked but not rejected either for more than a year en half!" He comments, surprised.

"What did he do for you to not want him? Is it because of Lana? He does want you because of her. You don't have to protect him." I ask her.

"Yes, no. hmm... He wants us to be together, he really does. But I can't. Not until he stays friends with that bitch. He swears to me that they are only friends but I’m his mate. I need to be his priority. I’m his mate, I have to pass first. I demand to pass first. He should have taken his distance with her as soon as he knew I was his mate but no he tried to compromise! With me, his own mate! I asked him to keep his distance with her not only he refused but I shouldn’t even have to ask! I’m not asking for too much and I just want to feel like the only one he is thinking about.”

“Mari... He is the future Gamma. Asking him to choose between the both of you. It’s like you asked him to give up his position. This is how his wolf is, like-“ Logan begins.

She cuts him:” I don’t care! I come first even if he has to give up his position. I want him to realize that I’m the best for him and the only one!”

“Okay, okay! Calm down, we are on your side.” I say.

“So what’s your plan? To make out with any guys you meet? Because knowing Asher, there is more chances that he rejects you that he keeps his distance with Lana.” Logan says.

“I don’t know. I just want him to suffer as much as I do.” She replies vindictive.

“Until what? One of you die of sadness or go crazy?” He says pushing again.

“Fuck you, Logan!” She says before turning into her wolf and running.

“Well... Now we know the problem.” Logan comments.

I sigh: “Indeed, we do!”

Almost a month passed since we learned Mari and Asher are mates. And nothing changed. She is still making out with multiple guys and he is close to Lana. I don’t think her way to manage the problem is the best but she doesn’t want to hear anything about it.

We are at the bibliotheca with Logan and Asher and Lana are working 5 tables away from us. I can’t help myself but look at them. Lana... she is totally ignoring me. She doesn't even say hello to me anymore when I’m speaking with Asher.

“.We kind of deserved it” My wolf comments.

“Thank you Captian obvious!” I reply my voice dripping with sarcasm.

“You know she will not forgive you. So if you want her to speak to you again, you should apologize. But looking at her and longing at her like that will not help your case.” Logan says though the mindlink not looking up and faking he’s reading.

“I was thinking about the situation between Mari and Asher.”

“Really??? Because you are looking at her more than at him.” He replies, skeptical.

“I will not apologize. I’m the Alpha and Alphas don’t apologize. She needs to pass that.”

“This is Bullshit! You told her she was a slut she will not pass that!” He is really annoying even more when he is right. I throw him a look and he smirks knowing he’s right.

“Do I have to remind you that we are here to study. So focus on your book and not on me.” What I like to have the last word?!

Half an hour passed and I’m trying to stay focus on my book but my thoughts are always coming back to Asher and Lana. Suddenly, they both get up and leave rapidly.

“Something is happening, follow them!” My wolf orders me.

We don’t like ordering each other but I’m too curious to reprimand him. When I got up, Logan got up too and we follow them.

“Calm down and focus.” We hear Lana says.

When we see them she has both of her hands in his chest while he’s taking deep breaths. His eyes are closed.

“Talk to me. What’s wrong?” She adds.

“We are feeling that someone is in trouble.” He replies his eyes still closes.

“Let me help you.” She closes her eyes and keeps going: “Focus on your wolf, on your instinct. We are all connected to each other by threads forming a web around you. Now follow the thread that will guide you to the person in trouble. Who is it?”

“Mate!” He says opening his eyes, well, his wolf’s eyes. He shifts into his wolf and runs and Lana follows him.

“Fuck!”Logan screams before shifting too.

Yeah fuck, Mariana is in trouble we need to find her. It’s my turn to shift and I catch up with Logan in a few seconds.

“Help me, please! I’m outside the pack’s territory on the east side. Please someone help me!” We hear Mari begs through the pack link.

“We are in our way Mari, we will be here in a few minutes so hold up!” I reply as Logan is too worried to reply.

“Do you need back up?” Dad asks through our private link.

“Don’t think so. I will keep you updated.”

“Okay, be careful.”

5 miles after we passed the pack’s border, we see Mari held by the throw by a rogue while another one is fighting with Asher. The one who is holding Mari, let out his claws ready to cut her.

“One more move and I kill her.” He says, shrinking his claws in her throw. As soon as Asher smells her blood he stops fighting.

“Everyone calms down. I’m sure we can find a peaceful solution.” Lana says her hands up.

“We aren’t in your territory, here it’s our laws. That slut wants to play with us. She is arousing us for days now. It’s time for her to satisfy us.” He replies. Making Asher, Logan and I growl.

He smirks and adds looking at Lana and licking his lips: "Actually, you are going to come as retribution for your friend's bad behavior. Two girls will not be enough to satisfy all of us."

That makes us growl even more.

Lana and Asher exchange a look. She shakes her head and replies with confidence: " That's not going to happen. Now you have 2 choices: Let her go and leave alive or die. We are four against two, you can't win so let her go."

"In your dream. If we are dying that bitch will too." He answers and he tries to cut Mari's throw but it's not working. Thank Goddess but how???

"What the fuck!?" He says surprised.

Lana nods slightly and Asher lunches at the other rogue killing him right away. The one holding Mari is now flying away and Asher kills him too going right for the jugular. I'm just dumbfounded. He killed both of them with no hesitation and precision. I know his mate was in danger but it looks like it's not his first kill. And that man, he flew away as if by magic... Magic!

"Witch!" My wolf whispers in awe, while we are looking at Lana.
