Chapter 21

19 Daddy's Home

A Little too Late... or Is It?

Yoko’s POV:

While on our way out towards the reserved parking lot at the back of the restaurant, several or should I say almost all the employees greeted Miss Aashna and thanked her for the generous tip that she gave them.

Faye/ Aashna: “No worries guys, but next time when Anntonia comes here to dine in please don’t hesitate to put poison on her food alright! But if it's food on the go, you can put markers on it” Everybody just laughed at her statement and even gave her a funny thumbs up sign.

I was in deep thoughts while we were heading to where her car was parked. What did Miss Aashna actually say to the eagerly awaiting fans outside of her restaurant, I asked myself.

Perhaps I was overthinking way too much that I forgot I had company when I heard Miss Aashna clicking her fingers just to get my attention.

Faye/Aashna: “Nong, Yo are you alright?” she asked me.

I gulped quietly and told her “Yeah, yeah of course.”

Faye/ Aashna: “Well here we are.”

Yoko: “Wooahh… is this your car? This is one of the sleekest looking rides that I have seen.”

Miss Aashna just shrugged at my comment while rubbing the back of her neck.

Yoko: “So how do we do this, hmmm, where do I sit?” Miss Aashna stared at me with a confused look.

Faye/ Aashna: “What do you mean? You do the shotgun position beside me. Why, are you uncomfortable sitting at the front sit? Do you have a carsickness syndrome?”, she bombarded me one question after the other.

Yoko: “No no no , of course not.”

Miss Aashna smiled at me then uttered “Ow kaay, If there’s none then off we go.” then she proceeded to open the passenger side of the door for me. Once I got inside the car, a familiar scent caught my nose, I will not be mistaken of that particular smell. The sweet but seductive fragrance of my P’Mali. I’ve never been to this proximity to Miss Aashna before but today the scent really radiates in the car, enhanced by the strong AC running in it. But then again I don’t want to overstep any boundaries so I didn’t bother asking her about it.

Before starting the car’s engine she asked me to type in the location to my place in her car’s GPS system. She started her car's engine and put on some music before we head our way to my home.

Surprisingly there was a calm atmosphere between the two of us while Miss Aashna was navigating the busy streets of Bangkok. We were just content with listening to the music playing in her car, which were mostly Spanish songs. I can’t help but smile as I listen to her choice of songs in her playlist.

Meanwhile Miss Aashna was silently humming some of the songs while tapping her long, slender fingers on the wheel. Wait, what, did I just describe her… never mind.

Miss Aashna is a skilled driver. She navigated through the busy streets with ease and must I say a very patient one. Once we arrived at our destination, she quickly got out of her seat and opened the door for me. I hesitantly got out of the car and thanked her again for going out of her way in bringing me home.

Faye/ Aashna: “Not a problem at all Nong Yo. It doesn’t bother me, don’t worry about it.”

So she bid her farewell to me and was already heading towards her car, when – of all the perfect timing, why does it have to be today – my mom spotted me on the side street and excitedly strutted towards my direction. She loudly spoke to me intentionally so that my “company” could hear her. (Oh, by the way I forgot to mention that I live near my parents’, no I actually live beside my parents’ house. They convinced me to stay near their place so that they could check on me and worry less about me specially those times when P’Faye ghosted us years ago and then apparently passed on.)

Yoko’s Mom: “Yoko is that you honey! And who is this beautiful woman who brought you home?”

As Miss Aashna turned around to face my mother, the latter was shocked when she saw the owner of the perfectly sculpted face standing right in front of her.

Yoko’s Mom: “My oh my, she looks like ….” I lightly pinched my mom’s side to stop her from making unnecessary comments. Miss Aashna just stepped forward and bowed down to my mother to show her respect.

Faye/ Aashna: “Sawadee Ka, Yoko’s Mae” she greeted my mom. Wait how does Miss Aashna know how my mother looks like? I was pre occupied again with my thoughts when my mom stepped forward and patted Miss Aashna on her shoulder while saying “Bless you my child. Forgive me for saying this but you really are a spitting image of…” I didn’t let my mom finish her sentence as I whispered to her ear “’Coz they’re twins mom.”

Miss Aashna just gave my mom a knowing smile and said “I just accompanied your daughter home Ma’am. The place where we held the meeting was swarmed by Yoko’s fans. I had to make sure that she gets home in one piece.” She smiled sheepishly.

Yoko’s Mom: “Thank You my dear and for that, please accept my invitation to have dinner with our family. I prepared a simple home cooked meal, just in time for your arrival. Had I known that my daughter will be having a suitor I mean visitor with her, I should have prepared a special dish.” my mom commented.

Faye/ Aashna: “It’s okay Ma’am really. Maybe next time perhaps. Your daughter could really be tired right now.”

Yoko’s Mom: “Oh non sense, don’t mind Yoko. Plus you don’t want to make an old lady sad, right.?”

“Here we go.” I mumbled to herself.

Miss Aashna was staring at me as if asking for help. At this point, I knew I couldn’t do anything about the situation. Once my mom has already decided on something, it’s either you do it or you do it with passion and more energy…  I just sighed at Miss Aashna and gave her a gritty smile.

She was turning her head around and looking from a distant as if searching for something or someone then she spoke again.

Faye/ Aashna: “I really apologize Ma’am but I have to respectfully decline your offer. Plus I don’t want to keep my company waiting.”

I also panned my head from left to right  scouting for any presence near the vicinity of our home.

Yoko: “Is someone with you?”

Faye/ Aashna: “Mario was tailing us on the way here.” She said while pointing at a heavily tinted black car just a few meters from our place. Just on que, Mario indeed got out of the car and waved at us.

Yoko’s Mom: “Non sense, invite him too. For as long as he’s not a treat to us, he’s welcome to have diner with us.” I quickly glanced at Miss Aashna and I saw her took a very deep breath and gave my mom a knowing smile.

Faye/ Aashna: “Okay Ma’am if you insist.” Then she gave a hand signal to Mario, similar to a hand language, and seconds later Mario was already parked in a parallel manner near Miss Aashna’s vehicle.

Looking at both cars, I could teal that the two units are not your ordinary looking cars. Both speak of luxury and pride.

Yoko’s Mom: “Aashna, please stop calling me Ma’am, I’m not your professor. You can call me Mama. Same as how your twin sister used to call me, come here.” mama suddenly stated and added, “Come here Aashna let me give you a proper welcome, let me hug you my child.”

Miss Aashna hesitantly stepped closer to Mama and accepted the hug that she offered. Seeing the two of them like that brought back memories of the first time Mama met my P’Mali. I remembered P’Faye being so nervous at that time. But knowing my mom, she made P’Faye feel at home and more than welcome to the family. I became a little bit teary eyed remembering those memories.

After what seemed to be a long overdue embrace between Miss Aashna and Mama, my mom led Miss Aashna to our house making me look like an outsider and Miss Aashna as her daughter.

One thing I've noticed is the identical black ring that both Mario and Miss Aashna were wearing. Similar to what I saw in P'Anne's finger in many of her uploaded photos .... I just shrugged it off and went to walk Mario to our house and buckled myself up for the scenes to come at our family dinner with Miss Aashna…

A/N:

Thank you very much for taking your time in reading my first FayeYoko story.

Always take good care of youselves especially with the cold weather that we have.

I really love the 2-day fan meet that was held in Taipei. The BabeBies gave them a very warm welcome and were very respectful  towards the personal space of FY.

The Taipei fans made both Faye and Yoko felt safe and comfortable. I could see that the two of them enjoyed their very short stay in the country. They were able to roam around some places without being harassed and bothered by the fans.

Even though there were some videos and sweet moments uploaded, it was taken at a safe distance.

Good job Taipei BabeBies. 💖👏
