Chapter 1613
The Protector levi garrison
Leviâs words rubbed Sonny and company the wrong way.
âFine then. Have it your way! But remember, Iâm here only by their invitation, and not because Iâve nothing better to do. Come, letâs go. This rascal can come begging should he ever change his mind!â
The group then left in a huff.
As the Dragonites were desperate to restore Leviâs martial vein, Sonnyâs group knew they had them on the hook and would not be let go of so easily.
Indeed, they were proven right almost immediately when someone from the Dragonites came out after them.
âPlease calm down, Mr. Washington! He means no harm as thatâs just the way he is!â
âPlease help mend his martial vein, Mr. Washington!â the few Dragonites implored obsequiously.
âNo. Never before had anyone spoken so disrespectfully to Master!â
âIf you want to have the little bastardâs martial vein restored, heâll have to get on his knees and beg for it himself!â the disciples sneered.
âRight. Have him go on his knees, then Iâll consider it!â
Sonny left it at that before he departed with his disciples, as he understood the Dragonitesâ urgency.
What may seem a simple request to Sonny and his followers would be an impossible ask for Levi who, indomitable prowess or otherwise, would never assent to doing anything he considered demeaning to himself.
Back at the manor.
âWhatâs wrong with you, Levi? Weâre all trying to do whatâs best for you, so why did you have to blow your top and tick off Mr. Washington?â the council members of the Dragonites lamented.
âI appreciate all of your well intentions, but those guys are a bunch of frauds who couldnât even read my martial vein. Theyâre only claiming to be able to heal it just so they could con yâall!â
Obviously, nobody was sold on Leviâs explanation, especially after he told them about the exchange he overheard within Sonnyâs group.
âYouâve got to sort out this temper of yours, Levi!â
âJust look at how youâve upset Mr. Washington. Now they want you to kneel and beg before theyâll agree to mending your martial vein, which we all know you wonât ever do!â
The quietly exasperated Dragonites exhaled before they walked out.
Knowing that Levi would never bow before anyone, they would have to find some other way to persuade Sonny.
The Dragonitesâ ingratiating toward that manâs demands came as a surprise to Levi, who was certain that his own martial vein did not require healing and figured that that huckster did not have what it took to get the job done either.
Elsewhere, Sonnyâs mind was whirling the moment he knew that Levi was not going to beg and that the Dragonites were going to use other means by which to secure his services.
He thus looked to drag out the process as the more protracted it became, the more they stood to gain.
A month passed quickly and it was time for Levi to go visit Forlevia.
Thus, he promptly started for Wildefield in the company of Zoey and Mia who were themselves informal students of Tresta and knew the route well.
Wildefield was an ancient city nestled in the heart of the bamboo forest within Westford which cannot be reached without a guide.
This was because the city was surrounded by traps and formations which would cause one to stray from it should any manage to come close.
Wildefield was absolutely bustling when they arrived, and many started to flock around upon sighting Zoey and Mia.
The exceptional beauty and talent of the duo made them exceedingly popular with the men here, and if not for the knowledge that Zoey was married, she might have found herself hounded by more than a few potential suitors.
âWhat is someone as stunning and capable as yourself doing with an ordinary guy like him, Zoey?â
The crowd went quiet as their gaze collectively fell upon Levi after those disparaging utterances.
âShut up, or Iâll tear the lips off the next person who runs his mouth!â Levi suddenly bellowed.
