“Good kid, Mama knew you’d get what I’m saying!”

Clara got everyone sorted out, and only sat down to have some milk after everyone had gotten on the bus and left, waiting for Emmett.

Before long, Emmett came downstairs.

The moment Clara caught sight of him, her eyes were glued to him…..

He was wearing a deep blue suit that fit him just right, perfectly showing off his tall frame! Plus his handsome, deep–set face, he was just dashing.

Suddenly, Clara remembered what Elio had said to her yesterday, it really made sense!

The world has plenty of ambitious women! There’s a whole line of people wanting to get a perfect man like Emmett! And somehow, for no reason at all, she had ended up with this honor! Even if she was dumb, she knew that envy could easily turn into jealousy!

Jealousy is a scary emotion, capable of driving people to do crazy things.

“Clara, you’ve been lost in your own thoughts a lot lately” Emmett came over to her without her noticing.

“Er, Emmett.” Clara suddenly spoke up. “Can you never make our relationship public?”

Emmett frowned, “What are you thinking about?”

I’m just thinking about protecting myself!” Clara started to worry after Elio’s reminder, “You know I’m not the cunning type, I never plot against anyone, so I wouldn’t know what tricks people might use against me! This kind of thing requires talent, I can’t learn it overnight, so…. staying in the low is safest.”

“Can you think about normal things for once?”

“I think this is quite normal.”

Emmett was almost laughing at her.

He reached out and held Clara’s hand, gently stroking it, “Why would you need protection when you’re with me? As long as you tell me everything and let me know if anyone is threatening to you, no one can harm you!”

“Not at all! Your stuff is easy to handle. Emmett said confidently. Those who want to plot against you, I’ll either send them to some place far away and never let them come back, or I’ll make them disappear forever.”

Clara was taken aback.

“You…you would kill them?!”

“There are many ways to make people disappear, it doesn’t necessarily involve killing.” Emmett straightened his tie, “It depends on how they plot against you and how much harm you’ve suffered! All I can say is, I wouldn’t rule out sending them to meet the grim reaper.”

Clara got goosebumps all over and unconsciously stepped back.

Emmett laughed. “Why are you looking scared? I won’t lay a finger on you.”

Clara gave a stiff smile, her heart full of anxiety.

She hoped that he would still say this after he knows the truth!

“So, if…I mean if, I really upset you? Even got you super angry! How would you…deal with me?”

Emmett smiled slightly, leaned close to her ear and whispered, “Then I would…have you stuck in my bed forever.”
