Chapter 200
Two Times The Charm Novel (Clara and Emmett)
This is for the better development of our Atwood family! I donât want to be stepped on by others, and I believe nobody else wants to be either.â
âI am very pleased that you have this fighting spirit! Teresa chuckled, âBut this is a longâterm commitment, not something we can sort out overnight.â She then shifted gears. âYou know, you should start thinking about tying the knot Youâre at the age where itâs expectedâ
Taylor frowned at her words, âI think Iâm doing just fine flying solo. No need for a ball and chain! Iâve dated before, but never found the right fit âWell, keep your eyes peeled! Thereâs a lid for every pot! Teresa studied his face, treading lightly, âYouâre notâ¦. still hung up on Clara, are you?â
âNo, I havenât been in touch with her latelyâ
âThatâs good!â Teresa reassured him, taking his hand. âThatâs all water under the bridge now. Itâs time to move on! The world is full of knockouts, and thereâs more than one fish in the sea for you. You just need to let go and give other girls a chanceâ
Taylor nodded in agreement, âYeah, once I get a breather, Iâll consider it.â
âAs long as youâve got it figured out. I wonât push itâ Teresa sighed, Td love to see you settle down, but I wonât rush you. Marriage is about finding the right one! Keep that in mind! If youâre having trouble meeting girls or donât get the chance, I can play matchmaker. Iâve got a bunch of friends who can help find you a catchâ
Iâd rather find someone on my own. Blind dates arenât my cup of tea.â
âThat works too.
Taylor managed a smile, but his mind was filled with thoughts of Clara.
Let go?
That was easier said than done, especially when he still hadnât regained his memory.
Later that night, Clara finally submitted her latest design.
This time, Emmett didnât find any issues, âIâll submit it for review first thing tomorrowâ
âWhat? Already?â Clara grabbed the design, âLet me doubleâcheck if there are any edits needed!â
Emmett sighed, âThe designâs topânotch! You donât need to overthink it!â
âBut Iâm nervous,â Clara confessed. This is my first technical drawing, and I donât have any experience with construction. I want the design to be flawless!â âI understand.â Emmett stood up and checked his watch, âItâs late. We should be home with our kids. You canât let your work eat up all your time. What about the kids?â
Upon hearing this, Clara nodded, âYouâre right. Iâve been so caught up with work that Iâve barely spent time with them. Today, Iâll leave work at work and focus on our kids.â
âGood.â
As Emmett and Clara left the building and got in the car, Clara suddenly remembered, âYou mentioned before that your mom said the kids love a certain pastry. Iâd like to buy them some!*
âSure, Iâll call my mom and ask for the exact location of that bakeryâ
âOkay.â
