Chapter 217

The secretary hurriedly followed, “Mr. Atwood, where are you off to? You look pale and can barely stand up straight. How about you rest a bit before you go? If something urgent comes up, you can leave it to me!”

“I’m going to see my mom” Taylor frowned, “You don’t need to worry about me. Can you handle the company affairs for me?”

With that, he left the office.

He had to resolve this issue immediately. He couldn’t wait any longer! His mom was trying to break him and Clara up by making him lose his memory! This was unbelievable and horrifying!

School was out.

Aiden and Alex came out, instinctively looking for the Melendez family’s nanny car.

But then Alex saw his mom right away.

“Mom! I’m over here!” He waved excitedly.

Aiden also looked over and was stunned, “Our parents are actually picking us up today.”

Clara walked up to them and smiled gently, “We wanted to surprise you. Are you happy?”

“Happy!”

Alex jumped straight into his mom’s arms, “I had a feeling you would pick me up from school today!”

Clara touched his nose, “Really?”

Alex stuck out his tongue, “I’m telling the truth!”

Emmett also picked up Aiden, but Aiden asked to be put down.

“Dad, I’m too old for you to carry me. My classmates will make fun of me.”

“Alright, then you can walk next to me.”

Aiden nodded, “Ok”

When they got home, they saw Sophia \waiting for them in the living room.

“Why did you pick up the kids today?”

“I had some free time, so I took Clara with me! It also gives the preschool teachers a chance to meet the boys” mother.” Emmett took Clara’s hand, deliberately showing Sophia Clara’s place in the family.

Sophia understood her son’s intention. Her face turned sour, and she blamed Clara for everything.

“Clara isn’t Aiden’s biological mother after all, I don’t see the need to introduce her to others.”

“I think it’s necessary.”

Sophia glanced at her son, frowning, “Emmett, is this how you talk to me now? Don’t forget, Clara is your wife, but I’m your mother!”

“If you weren’t infentionally making life difficult for Clara, why would I have to say such things?” Emmett chuckled, “I think some self-reflection is what you need.”

Sophia laughed, “If I didn’t like her, she wouldn’t have entered the Melendez family in the first place!

Since I’ve accepted her, why would I reject her? Either you find the issues within Clara, or… you have misunderstood me, and owe me an apology.”

“Grandma, you always say everything you do is for us, but you criticize our mother in front of us. Is this your idea of good parenting?”
