“You just don’t get it!”

“Alright, I don’t,” Leah dropped her purse and sat down next to him. “Actually, I saw this coming even before you talked to her. Emmett is such a catch; no sane woman would ever let him slip away. Clara has Emmett’s baby; how could she just easily go with you? She was in contact with you before because she didn’t know the child was Emmett’s. And she thought you could help her, you were of value to her.”

Upon hearing this, Elio refused to accept it and immediately glared at Leah.

Leah shrugged and said, “I know I shouldn’t have said that. It pisses you off. But isn’t that the truth?

You have to accept it.”

“Just mind your own business and do whatever you need to do,” Elio said, standing up to leave..

Raising an eyebrow, Leah asked, “Where are you going? To see Clara again?”

“Why are you so damn stubborn! I’ve made it very clear, why do you still think Clara would agree to leave with you? Let me tell you, the only way for you to be with Clara is to follow my plan!”

“You will only hurt her; you won’t consider her feelings,”

Elio understood that when it came to these tactics, he was no match for Leah. Even he and Clara combined were no match for Leah! So, he wanted to get Clara away from both Emmett and Leah’s schemes as soon as possible. No one could predict what the future would be like.

“Listen to you!” Leah frowned, pulling Elio back onto the couch. “We’re family. After you marry Clara in the future, she will be my sister-in-law. Even if I marry Emmett, she is Emmett’s ex-wife, and that won’t change our relationship as siblings. As long as you want to marry Clara, I won’t hurt her.”

“What you’re doing now is hurting her!”

“So, you’re sure Clara and Emmett can live happily ever after until they grow old?”

ri Leah fiddled with her newly manicured nails, “Maybe after a few years, Emmett will lose interest in Clara and dump her. Then Clara will be crying all day and can do nothing about it. If such a day really comes, she should thank me now.”

Elio sneered, “Aren’t you afraid that Emmett will go after other women one day?”

“I’m not Clara. I can accept it, I can be ruthless, but can she?”

“Any other woman that comes near Emmett, whether innocent or not, I won’t show mercy. I’d rather kill ten thousand by mistake than let one go,” Leah had clearly envisioned her life after marrying Emmett.

“Huh, you’re the cruelest!” Elio felt a chill just hearing this. He thought he should take Clara and her child and run away as soon as possible, that would be the wisest choice.

Taylor had been lying in bed all day and finally couldn’t bear it anymore. He had originally planned to follow his mother’s advice, to recover his memory through ample rest, but being in the bedroom made him feel suffocated.

“Mom, I’m going to the office.”

After getting dressed and grooming himself, he went downstairs after washing up, only to find his mother watching TV in the living room.

“Didn’t I tell you to get some rest?” Teresa immediately stood up and said, “Don’t worry about the company! I’ve already asked your secretary to handle it!”
