Hearing that, Leah’s hands clenched tight under the table. But she kept a cool facade. “Indeed, you’re so lucky! Marrying Emmett is a dream come true for many people!”

“I met a friend,” Clara answered casually, so Emmett didn’t suspect a thing.

“Sure thing! When she’s done with her busy schedule!” Clara smiled at him, “My friend is so envious of our relationship! Do you think I did a lot of good deeds in my past life to meet you in this one?”

Clara’s heart sank, “What question from last night? I can’t remember!”

“But I think you were serious.” Emmett nibbled on her ear, “Are you worried she’ll return? Worried I’ll fall in love with her again, worried my mother will like her more because she’s his real mother.”
