“That’s good, that’s so good. Oh, by the way, your design draft has been accepted. The director of the design department told me there were basically no big issues. He’s looking for you!”

Til go see him later,” Clara said, ready to head back to her office.

Instead of leaving, Ricardo followed her in. “Did you know? Taylor Atwood has run away from home.”

“Taylor?” Clara was taken aback, “Why would he run away? Do you know?”

“Apparently, he had a fight with his mom, and he even ditched an important company meeting. His mom’s out there looking for him, and no one knows where Taylor is.”

Clara was about to ask more questions but then remembered Ricardo worked for Emmett. She shrugged, “It’s none of my business. I was done with him ages ago. Don’t worry. I won’t let Emmett get mad over Taylor again.”

Ricardo came over and sighed, “Speaking of, Taylor’s really a hopeless romantic. I really have no idea what’s so charming about you that both Mr. Melendez and Taylor are so into you?”

Clara didn’t know how to respond to that.

She looked at him helplessly, “What kind of answer are you hoping to get from me? Maybe I’m just naturally charming.”

Ricardo stuck out his tongue, “I think your biggest charm is your approachability. I always thought Mr.

Melendez’s wife would be high and mighty, with Mr. Melendez’s backing. I thought she would stand tall and speak with authority. But now… I can joke around with you, and you won’t get mad.”

“Why would I get mad? Besides, I only married Emmett; I didn’t become him. If he divorces me one day, I’m still that ordinary secretary.”

“Mr. Melendez is smitten with you now. There’s no chance he’ll divorce you!” Ricardo waved his hand, “Don’t worry. If there’s any other woman around Emmett, I’ll let you know first. No one’s gonna mess with your relationship.”

Clara laughed at him, “When did you turn into my man? If Emmett finds out, he’ll fire you.”

“Then please keep it a secret, don’t tell Mr. Melendez. I’m afraid he’ll make me a mute.”-

Clara looked at him and took a deep breath, “You’re not here to chat, are you?”

“No, I’m just want to get close to my boss.”

‘I think you want to see my reaction to Taylor running away, don’t you?”

Ricardo was caught off guard and awkwardly laughed, “Why would you think that of me? It’s really not like that. I just wanted to chat with you!”

Clara suddenly thought of something and raised her eyebrows at him, “It isn’t Emmett who sent you here to ask, is it…”

“Absolutely not! I haven’t even seen Mr. Melendez yet! His meeting has been going on all the way till now, and he didn’t even have time for lunch. I heard it’s going to take another two hours to finish. I’ve already had lunch prepared, waiting for him to come out of the meeting room!”
