After the meeting, he stood up immediately, and as soon as he walked out of the meeting room, he saw a worried-looking Ricardo, “What are you up to?”

After seeing Emmett, Ricardo looked even more worried, “Mr. Melendez, is your meeting over?”

“Yeah.” Emmett said, “Go find Clara; we’re going house hunting today.”

“Okay… but Ms. Calloway said she hadn’t finished her work today.” Ricardo stuttered.

Emmett noticed his odd behavior. He looked at Ricardo and said, “Spit it out; don’t beat around the bush! I hate being lied to!”

Ricardo was now caught between a rock and a hard place, “Um…””

He wiped the sweat off his forehead, looking a bit terrified.

“Mr. Melendez, I don’t know where Clara went… she said she was meeting a friend today.”

Emmett frowned, “You mean she left?”

“Uh…” Ricardo lowered his head, “I’m sorry, Mr. Melendez, I couldn’t stop her.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Clara told me not to tell you; she was afraid you’d be mad.”

Emmett frowned and walked to the window, immediately pulling out his phone to call Clara, but he couldn’t get through no matter how many times he tried. Just as he was about to check Clara’s car location, his phone rang.

Emmett immediately looked at it, thinking it was Clara, but it turned out to be his mother. Emmett frowned and answered the call anyway.

“Son, when are you coming home today? I have a special guest for you.”

“Who’s the guest? I’m busy now; handle it yourself!”

“What do you mean by that? I told you it’s a special guest, so you must come meet them.” Sophia Melendez said mysteriously, “You won’t regret meeting them.” “I don’t have time! I’m busy; I’ve gotta hang up.”

Emmett hung up the phone and glanced at the secretary, whose hands were shaking, “You’re coming with me to find Clara. If we don’t find her today, you’re in trouble!”

“I’m sorry, Mr. Melendez…”.

“What are you still standing there for? Go find her now!”

“Yes! I’m on it!” Ricardo quickly went to check the surveillance cameras.

Emmett sent a message to Matt, and within a few seconds, Matt replied, “I’m on it.”

Emmett clenched his fist. For some reason, he couldn’t shake off the unease that something big was about to happen.

“What’s your plan?” In the car in front of the airport, Leah Calloway looked back at Clara, who was passed out in the back seat. Just as Elio was about to speak, Leah’s interrupted him, “Since you just took her away like that, aren’t you afraid Emmett will find her soon? I told you to create a misunderstanding, not take her away!”

“Isn’t taking her away more in line with what you want?”

“This is really risky! Emmett has eyes all over the world, so it shouldn’t be hard for him to find you.”

“Don’t worry, I have my own secret hideouts; he won’t find me.”

“But in this case, he’ll be looking for Clara, right? I think you should just get involved with her, then I’ll take some pictures.” Elio immediately cut her off, “I have to listen to you even on this?
