After dropping that bomb, Emmett just hopped into his car and drove off.

Sophia was so pissed off that she started cussing out loud, not giving a damn about her image.

“Clara! You’re such a pain in the ass, but I won’t back down! The Melendez family still has their elders around!”

After leaving the Melendez family’s mansion, Leah went straight back to the office.

Before long, she saw a call from Sophia coming in. She already knew that Sophia wouldn’t give up easily.

She took a moment to calm herself down before picking up the phone. She could hear the urgency in Sophia’s voice, like she was worried about pissing her off.

“Where are you now, sweetie? I’ll come find you right now.”

“Sophia, you don’t need to come. I don’t want to upset Emmett anymore. I’m at the hotel packing up, ready to leave the country.”

Leah managed to choke out these words and even shed a couple of tears, trying hard to hold back the rest.

“Leave the country? Honey, don’t make any rash decisions.”

“You had a fight with Emmett because of me. I’m so sorry!”

Sophia was desperate to keep her from leaving and blurted out, “Don’t worry. Everything I do is in the best interest of my grandson. I’ll only rest easy knowing his kids’ biological mother is by his side.”
