Could it be that Clara really went behind his back to meet Elio? This realization left Emmett a bit lost.

Emmett quickly dug up Elio’s number, but before he could dial, his mother’s call came in first.

Frowning, he answered, “What’s up?”

“Have you seen the news? That Clara is with Elio. Do you know about this?”

“Don’t worry about the news, but make sure the kids don’t see it!”

“Of course, I won’t let them see it. They are good-hearted kids, still too young to understand these things!”

Emmett rubbed his temples, about to respond, when the voice of Sophia Melendez came through the phone.

“Knowing that the woman they call mom did something like this will also affect them!”
