“I don’t need your help!” After Emmett spat those words, he turned to leave. Taylor was quick to follow.

“Emmett! Did you hear what I just said? Do you really doubt Clara?”

Emmett turned his head, shooting him a glance. “Stop fussing over Clara. She’s my wife, not yours.”

His patience with Taylor had reached its boiling point.

With Clara missing and all this news, Emmett had a lot on his plate, so he was not in the mood to deal with Elio. But that didn’t mean he’d let other men openly express their love.

“She’s your wife, and you couldn’t protect her! If you had, why would we have all this news?”

Emmett gave him a scorching look, his eyes filled with anger.

“Do you know Clara values her reputation? She cares how people perceive her, and now with all this happening, she must be devastated!”

Emmett didn’t want to waste any more time on him. He picked up the pace to leave.

But Taylor wasn’t ready to let him go. He quickened his steps, blocking Emmett’s path. “Don’t you walk away! You haven’t told me how you plan to handle this!”

Emmett shot him an annoyed look. His patience was nearing its end.

“Disappear from my sight now!”

Taylor was taken aback by his attitude. After all, even when he’d openly declared his intention to take Clara, Emmett had never lost his cool like this.

Today he really seemed pissed off.

But Taylor clenched his fist and stayed put.

“If you don’t tell me, I won’t go! It’s clear now that you can’t protect Clara or give her a stable life. So hand her over to me!”

Emmett squinted at Taylor.

“I know this situation is bothering you. If it leads to a fight, a lack of trust, then let her go.”

Emmett had tried his best to suppress his anger, not wanting to get entangled with Taylor.

But Taylor always pushed his buttons, and Emmett couldn’t hold back his rage any longer. He grabbed Taylor’s collar.

“I’m telling you, get out of here now!”

Taylor was too frightened to say a word.

Emmett flung him aside, then strode out of the hotel..

Taylor stood there, taken aback. Then something occurred to him. He quickly pulled out his phone and dialed a number. It was picked up swiftly.

“Mr. Atwood, what can I do for you?”

“Did you plant that news?” Taylor cut to the chase. He didn’t have time for small talk!

“Yes, that was my doing. Didn’t I say? If none of you can make Clara willingly leave Emmett, then don’t blame me for taking action!”

“Do you realize the impact of what you’ve done on Clara?” Taylor shouted anxiously. “Her reputation means a lot to her! She values it highly!”

“What does that have to do with me? If you guys know Clara so well, why couldn’t you prevent this from happening?”

“You…”

Leah’s laughter echoed over the line. “Mr. Atwood, you didn’t think I was joking in our conversation, did you? I told you, I have to have Emmett.”

“What did you do to Clara?”

“Clara is my only obstacle. I have to remove her! If you guys can’t help me convince her, then I have to take action myself!”
