Chapter 341
Two Times The Charm Novel (Clara and Emmett)
âWeâve got one Mom, yet Granny is always trying to throw us a new one. It ticks me off. Canât I vent a little? Bro, are you cool with Granny bringing us a new mom?â
Aiden walked over, grabbed Alexâs hand, and said, âNo way, dude. Iâve got a mom. I donât need another woman. But your tantrums arenât solving anything.â
âOhâ¦â
âI miss Mom too, man. Iâm not missing her any less than you are. But weâre too young to do anything about it.â
âYouâve got to think about not causing trouble for Mom and Dad. Granny never liked our mom. If we act up, sheâs going to dislike Mom even more!â
Alex pouted and nodded, not fully understanding, âAlright⦠As long as you can get me to see Mom, I wonât rat out to Granny.â
âJust do your homework like usual; donât let granny catch on.â
âDo we have a plan?â
âIâll go to Granny now and tell her I want some snacks to get her out of the way. Then Iâll go check out our route. If Iâm not around, you canât tell anyone about our plan or Momâs secret, got it? If you do, Iâm never talking to you again!â
Alex nodded, and while wiping his tears, he said, âOkay! Can we bring two pieces of candy when we run away from home?â
Aiden was exasperated, wondering what was going on in his little brotherâs head.
One moment, he was crying because he missed Mom. The next, he was thinking about candy when planning to run away.
âAlright, alright, Iâll give you my two pieces of candy; just donât cause any trouble!â
âI wonât cause trouble. If I get candy and Mom, Iâll be happy!â
Aiden looked at his little brother and chuckled, and his expression was just like Emmettâs.
Clara thought Elio would be back soon, but he didnât return even when it was nightâ¦
1 She got up and opened the door to ask Nestor, but as soon as she stepped out, she heard a car outside.
Clara rushed downstairs, and sure enough, she saw Nestor welcoming Elio at the door.
Elio walked in and saw Clara. His face finally lit up with a smile.
âI heard you started eating. Is the food good? If not, just let me know.â
âYou know me, Iâm not picky. As long as Iâm full, Iâm good.â Clara laughed and brought him his slippers.
Elio felt warmth in his heart. This scene had happened before abroad; it was this gesture that made him consider marriage.
âI heard from Nestor that you wanted to go out for a walk. Is that so?â
Clara put down the slippers and nodded, âYes, you can come with me wonât go out, just walk around the yard. Staying inside all the time makes me feel suffocated and a bit uncomfortable. Thatâs not too much to ask, right?â
âNo problem! As long as youâre willing to stay here, Iâm down to accompany you to explore this villa.â
Elio extended his hand.
Clara hesitated, didnât take his hand, but smiled and walked out first.
Elio stood behind her with a bittersweet smile on his face. He didnât say anything, just followed her out to the courtyard.
This was Claraâs first time here.
Whenever Elio returned home before, he stayed in the Milburn familyâs villa, She had never heard that Elio had a house like thisâ¦
