Chapter 348

Leah was about to send someone to check things out when Newell buzzed her phone. She raised an eyebrow and picked up.

“What’s up? Have you made up your mind yet?”

Newell stammered, “Are you sure about the 10% shares? How can I trust you?”

“Don’t sweat it. As long as you can whip up the drug from the formula, we can talk turkey. What do you want me to do so you can trust me?”

“Well, you could write me a share transfer agreement first. I promise you’ll have the drug within a week.”

“A week is too long; I need it in three days!”

Three days is impossible! No matter how hard you push, I can’t make it happen.”

“So, what’s the fastest you can do?”

“At least five days.”

“All right, five days it is! I’ll have my secretary, Ryan, draw up the share transfer agreement and let him give it to you. That’ll put your mind at ease, right?”

Hearing Leah’s assurance, Newell hesitated, “Looks like you’re really desperate for this drug! You’re certain I’ll agree? You’re just missing this drug for your plan, right? But I want to remind you one last time, never use this drug on anyone from the Melendez family, or we’ll both end up in the soup!”

Leah laughed smugly and said, “Don’t worry, didn’t I tell you before? My end game is to marry into the Melendez family; I wouldn’t harm them. Just hand me the drug and enjoy your life with the shares!”

“I still want to say…”

Leah cut him off, “Chill, I won’t stab you in the back. After all, we’re in the same boat now! Just deny you ever had the formula if anyone asks!”

Newell seemed to want to say more but eventually said nothing and hung up.

Everything seemed to be going according to Leah’s plan, and soon she’ll be Mrs. Emmett.

Clara will be completely under Leah’s thumb and erased from Emmett’s world.

Everything was set. She just need to eliminate Clara!

Thinking of this, Leah’s smile faded. The real thorn in her side wasn’t Clara, but Elio!

He was so protective of Clara, and he was smart, even knowing about the formula.

Leah was contemplating whether she should take care of Elio as well! She thought Elio would play ball since she had his parents, but Elio was risking his parents’ safety to protect Clara!

These two were major roadblocks in Leah’s plan!

But she wouldn’t let anything mess with her plan. Clara had to go!

And maybe Elio, who was protecting Clara, had to go too.

She immediately got up and made a call.

The other end picked up quickly.

“What do you want this time? I almost got into hot water because of you last time!”

“What do you think? I need your help, obviously.”

“Can you stop dragging me into this? You’re all over Emmett now. I know I can’t compete with him, so I’ll back off willingly.”

Leah bit her lip and said, “This is the last time you have to help me!”

“Can’t you consider my feelings for once? Do you want to marry Emmett but still need my help? But you should know I’ve always liked you. I never forgot you all these years. Isn’t that why I agreed to help you last time?”
