Chapter 359
Two Times The Charm Novel (Clara and Emmett)
âAlways talking about property. I swear youâre paranoid or something?â Patrick shook his head and walked away, any previous pity already forgotten. Sometimes, he just didnât get it. Why did his wife have to act like this?
People always said that you got wiser with age, right?
So why was she becoming more stubborn?
Now Aiden and Alex were missing, and she still didnât get it!
After her husband left, Sophia pulled out her phone and dialed Leah, âAny news on your end?â
âStill canât find the kids! Iâm looking/near the Melendez familyâs place.â
âLet me meet up with you then. Send me the address.â
âAlright!â
Sophia quickly changed her clothes, grabbed her bag, and headed out. She thought it wouldnât take long, but it was quite a while before she finally caught sight of Leah.
Leah was a mess, her clothes dirty and her appearance disheveled.
Seeing Leah in this state, Sophia was even more certain she was right. This was how a mother should look!
If Clara knew the kids were missing now, she would probably be thrilled! Even if she did join the search, sheâd probably be half-hearted about it.
Leahâs eyes were red from crying, her worried and scared expression mirroring Sophiaâs.
âWhat do we do if we canât find Aiden and Alex? What do I do?â Leah didnât care about appearances.
She just sat down on the ground, âIs it all my fault? If I hadnât come back to the country, if I didnât want to see them so badly if I couldâve just stayed abroadâ¦
Sophia cut her off and said, âNo ifs. Besides, you came back for Aiden and Alex; it was the best choice for them! They might not understand now, but they will when they grow up.
Leah nodded, still sobbing uncontrollably.
Sophia patted Leahâs shoulder, âEverything weâre doing is for Aiden and Alexâs good. Donât doubt yourself! I know youâre kind-hearted; Iâm a mother, too. get your pain!
âUh huh⦠Iâll do anything to find them!â
âThatâs why I need to get you into the Melendez family. Replacing Clara isnât just for you. Itâs also for my grandchildren. They need their real mom to feel the warmth. Even if Clara doesnât mean to harm them, she canât give them complete loveâ
Leah nodded, âIf I can be with the kids, Iâll do as you say.â
Sophia nodded satisfactorily, âEver since I first met you, I felt a connection. To think youâre actually Aiden and Alexâs birth mom, itâs like fate!â
âUh-huhâ¦â Leah pursed her lips.
âWe need to find the kids as soon as possible. I have a plan. If all goes well, my son will change his attitude towards you soon.â
Leah paused, then nodded, âYou look tired too. You should rest. Iâll go check ahead.â
With that, she ran off. The sight of her desperate figure was just like a mother searching for her children.
Unbelievable!
