Chapter 396

Clara froze at first, then bolted towards him like a madwoman, shaking him vigorously, “Emmett, Emmett, wake up! Don’t scare me like this!”

Matt immediately squatted down, “Mr. Melendez, what’s happening?”

“Call an ambulance!” Clara’s heart felt like it was about to jump out of her chest, “Get him to the hospital. We can’t let anything bad happen to him!”

Matt nodded and whipped out his phone to call.

The ambulance arrived quickly, along with several doctors, Clara and Matt helped Emmett into the ambulance. At that point, Clara couldn’t care less about anything else, so she rushed to the hospital with them.

At the hospital.

Once the ambulance stopped, the doctors immediately wheeled Emmett into the emergency room!

A red light flickered on top of the doorway of the room.

It was very blinding.

Matt glanced at Clara and frowned. He had initially wanted to contact Mr. Melendez’s parents, but seeing Clara there, he decided against it.

Having been with Mr. Melendez for a while, he knew that Mr. Melendez held a special place for her in his heart. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have gone to find her. But if Mr. Melendez’s mother had shown up, she would have definitely given Clara a hard time.

He knew that was the first time Mr. Melendez had let down his pride for a woman!

“Has he… been fainting a lot recently?” Clara looked up at Matt, whispering her question.

“No, this is the first time. Mr. Melendez hasn’t been resting or eating well lately.”

Clara raised an eyebrow, looking worried, “So, he fainted because he’s malnourished?”

“Probably…” Matt hesitated for a few seconds before speaking, “Clara, I know as a bodyguard I shouldn’t be saying this and have no right to interfere with Mr. Melendez’s love life, but I have to say, Mr. Melendez truly loves you. Why are you hurting him like this? I’ve never seen Mr. Melendez so down and out before!”

“I’m sorry…”

That’s all Clara could say. She was unable to do anything else.

As soon as she finished speaking, the light in the emergency room suddenly turned off!

A doctor in scrubs came out, removing his mask, “Who’s the patient’s relative?”

Clara and Matt both rushed forward, “I am. How is he?”

“No big issues. He’s just overly tired, but it’s a bit strange. Does he have any genetic diseases?

Normally, even if he’s overworked, he shouldn’t faint like this, especially considering how fit he is. You guys need to be extra careful from now on!

The doctor then turned around and went back into the emergency room.

Matt was confused. He had never heard of Mr. Melendez having any genetic diseases. Plus, Mr.

Melendez was a fitness freak. That sudden fainting episode was definitely a first.

Clara staggered back, bumping into the hospital wall. It must have been the drug’s Leah gave her, which started to take effect.

“Has Leah seen Emmett recently?”

“Leah?” Matt was taken aback, “No.”

So that was it! It must have been because Emmett hadn’t taken the antidote.

The doors to the emergency room swung open again as two doctors wheeled Emmett out, and Matt immediately went over to assist him.
