Nestor was a bit at a loss. He sighed helplessly, “Elio, I don’t know if your deep affection will touch others or just hurt yourself… Whatever, just go! I can’t stop you anyway.”

Elio gave Nestor an apologetic look, picked up his car keys, and walked out of the room.

Nestor frowned, took out his phone, and dialed a number. The phone rang for a long time before being answered.

“Why are you contacting me now?”

“Obviously, I got something. I accepted your proposal for cooperation that we talked about last time, but you need to fulfill your promise first.”

Nestor hung up the phone, took a deep breath, and looked at Elio’s retreating figure. His heart started to race.

He had no idea what would happen when Elio went to find Emmett. If Clara loved him, he could understand, but obviously Clara was not interested in Elio.

“Elio is such a fool.”

At the Hospital in Leah’s ward.

In the morning, the doctor told her she could get out of bed for some physical activity, which was good for her recovery.

Sophia went to the hospital to visit her after sending off Aiden and Alex. As soon as she entered, her face was full of smiles.

Leah was trying to walk on the ground. Seeing her coming in, she quickly said, “Sophia, why are you here so early?”

“Nothing special. I just came to see you. Oh my! You’re already out of bed? What if the wound breaks open?”

“It’s okay; the doctor told me that getting out of bed and moving around is good for recovery!”

Sophia then nodded in relief and said, “Well, if the doctor said so, I’m relieved. Don’t take matters into your own hands. I’m still waiting for you to recover soon and come home with me!”

Leah smiled and asked, “Is there any good news today? Mrs. Sophia seems very happy.”

“Of course! My son is home. Although I haven’t seen him yet, the servants at home told me his car is already in the yard! I’ll ask the doctor later to see if you can be discharged and come to our house for recuperation!”

Hearing Emmett’s name, Leah was stunned. A hint of shyness flashed across her face, “Mrs. Sophia, it’s a bit sudden for me to go home with you. Isn’t it inappropriate?”

“What’s inappropriate? I brought you in. What can they object to?”

“I’m not afraid of people gossiping, but would Emmett think I have other motives for coming back?”

Sophia laughed at her words, “What do you mean by other motives? You’re just worried about the two kids; any mother would do the same! If this is considered having other motives, then haven’t I had other motives all these years for looking after my son?”

Leah smiled faintly, “As long as he doesn’t look at me with suspicion! Mrs. Sophia, I don’t really care whether I can marry him or not. Being able to accompany the two kids often is what matters most to me! If he doesn’t want to accept me, please don’t push him, okay?”

Sophia held her hand and gently patted it, “You always understand others’ thoughts so well. Let’s do it your way then! I don’t want to force anything between you, young people. You two need to spend time together, and as a mother, I’m just here to guide you and help you build a relationship. But Clara is not suitable to be part of our family! Not to mention that she’s just a girl with no one to love. Even if she’s a noble lady, I don’t care!”
