“I didn’t…” Clara’s words were cut short as a swift slap landed on her cheek.

Five red fingerprints appeared on her pale face, standing out abruptly.

The force of Sophia’s slap made Clara stumble back a few steps before regaining her balance.

“I’m telling you, don’t think that because you’re still Mrs. Melendez, my son will always protect you!
