He had no idea what happened on his end but he couldn’t be reached! His phone was off.

“What are you doing?” The teacher noticed Aiden’s unusual behavior. He rarely was so engrossed in his phone.

“I’m waiting for a friend’s call.”

“Oh, I see! Do you need my help with anything?”

“No.” Aiden thought for a moment and said, “Teacher, can I take the afternoon off? Don’t tell my dad or grandma.”

The teacher was stunned, she couldn’t take that responsibility “That’s not possible With your special status, if you go missing… the teacher would be in big trouble.”
