29. Engagement of Prisha and Vedant

A few days later, today was the engagement of Prisha and Vedant. They had come to the Pratap palace because Dada Hukum wanted to give them some gifts. He and Anita had ordered some most famous jewellers from the state to get jewelries to the palace.

Akshita, Kashi, Naina, Prisha and Ritika were looking at the jewelry pieces. Kashi picked a pearl necklace and then looked at Shivansh who was talking to Bhairav. She acted as if she cleaned her throat.

Shivansh looked at her. " How is this?" she asked by raising her eyebrows. Shivansh understood what Kashi meant even when she didn't say a word. He nodded his head slowly.

Akshita looked at Bhairav and acted to clear her throat. Bhairav looked at her. Akshita rose her eyebrows for a second. Bhairav nodded. Akshita smiled. Prisha, Naina and Ritika also looked at Vedant, Yuhan and Jai witht he same question in their eyes.

Vedant, Yuhan and Jai also responded in the same manner. Dada Hukum and Anita who were sitting on the sofa looked at each other. " If our daughters and daughter-in-laws have done their romance with their husbands and to-be husbands. Then have you all decided what you all have to take?" asked Dada Hukum.

Everyone flinched while Dada Hukum and Anita laughed. Dada Hukum looked at his daughter. " Anu, if I would have found the perfect match for you then." said Dada Hukum. He remembered the time when his wife got the alliance for Anita and he was forced to accept the alliance.

But later on, they got to know that Anita's husband was having many affairs. Anita divorced him even when her mother stopped her because the Pratap's never had divorce in their family ever. But Anita didn't listen to anyone.

Dada Hukum just wanted his children to live happily. Anita held the hand of Dada Hukum. " Papa, don't think about the past. Think about the future." said Anita. Dada Hukum smiled. Akshita got up.

" Let's go and start getting ready." said Akshita, " Yeah, you are right Bhabhi sa." said Anita. After that everyone went to their rooms to get ready. After some time, Kashi was ready in a grey colored lehenga with her jewelry and her red churra.

Kashi sat there while looking at her churra that showed that Kashi is still a new bride.

When Shivansh came inside. He was dressed in black suit.

" Ready Kashi?" he asked while coming inside. He looked at her and was mesmerized to see her. " Kashi, you look amazing. " said Shivansh. Kashi looked at him and blushed. " I know Shivansh ji." said Kashi.

After that they both walked down to the hall. In the hall, Prisha was standing with Vedant. They both looked very beautiful in the grey attire that they were wearing. Akshita looked at her son and daughter-in-law.

" You both look so beautiful." she said and then rolled her palms around them. " Thu Thu Thu." she said while waving off any evil eye from them. They both smiled. After that they all headed towards the hotel where the engagement was about to take place.

The hotel was of Vikram ji only. All the family members and then friends were there. Kashi saw Mr and Mrs Sharma. " Aunty, uncle. " said Kashi and then ran towards Mr and Mrs Sharma. " Kashi, how are you my child?" Mrs Sharma asked while hugging Kashi.

" I am fine Kaki. I missed you both so much." said Kashi, " Then why didn't you invite us for the wedding?" asked Mr Sharma. Kashi looked at him. " I told Prisha but then she told that you are busy with some case so you both can't come." said Kashi.

" Where is your husband?" asked Mrs Sharma. Shivansh came there while his hands were folded behind his back. Kashi looked at her husband. " Kaka, Kaki, this is Shivansh ji, my husband." said Kashi.

" Namaste." said Mr and Mrs Sharma together, " Namaste. " said Shivansh. Mrs Sharma took out an envelope that had some money in it. " Kashi take this. " said Mrs Sharma, " But Kaki." said Kashi, " Take it. These are our blessings." said Mrs Sharma.

Kashi then took that envelope. Shivansh took the envelope. " I will take care of this. " said Shivansh. Kashi nodded. Soon after the engagement, everyone was very tired. Mr and Mrs Sharma were living in Madhavgarh with Vikram ji only.

The next morning, Akshita came to the kitchen and was shocked as the whole kitchen was full of a lot of dishes. " Kashi, when did you make all this?" asked Akshita. Kashi looked at her. " Actually Maa sa, I woke up early today. So I made all this." said Kashi, " That's great. " said Akshita.

Naina came there while sniffing her nose. " What all is made? Why do I smell chole bhature?" asked Naina. Kashi smiled. " Yes Naina. I am making the bhaturas. Till everyone comes down for breakfast, they would be ready." said Kashi, " Okay." said Naina.

After that Akshita and Naina went out of the kitchen. After some time, everyone came down and sat down on the breakfast table. " Wow so many things. " said Dada Hukum and picked the chole but Kashi stopped him.

" What happened, Bitiya?" asked Dada Hukum, " Sorry Dada Hukum but I saw your reports. You will have poha today. " said Kashi while serving him. " Kashi, just a little bit. " said Dada Hukum, " Okay but only a little." said Kashi.

Everyone smiled when they saw Kashi scolding Dada Hukum. After that Kashi served everyone. After that she sat down with Shivansh.

Dada Hukum, still holding the poha Kashi had served him, took a tentative bite. His eyes lit up in surprise and delight. "Kashi, this poha is simply out of this world! I've never tasted anything like it. How did you manage to make something so healthy taste so wonderful?" he said

Kashi smiled, a soft blush coloring her cheeks. "I'm happy you like it, Dada Hukum. It's all about finding the right balance of spices." said Kashi.

Anita, savoring a bite of the aloo paratha, chimed in. "Kashi, these parathas are just perfect—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I don't know how you do it, but you've outdone yourself today." she said.

Akshita, who was enjoying a piece of the bhature, nodded in agreement. " Anu is right, Kashi. The bhature are so light and fluffy, and the chole... they're seasoned perfectly. You've really put your heart into this breakfast." said Akshira.

Shivansh, who had been quietly eating, looked up at Kashi with pride in his eyes. "Kashi, you've not just made breakfast—you've made a memory for all of us. Every bite is filled with love. I'm truly lucky to have you in my life." he said.

Kashi's smile widened, and she glanced around the table, feeling a deep sense of contentment.

Naina, who was seated next to Yuhan, couldn't hold back her admiration either. "Bhabhi Sa, this chole bhature is heavenly. I'm not usually a morning eater, but I can't stop myself today." she said.

Yuhan, who had been playfully nudging Naina, smirked. "Anyone can make food like this, Naina. It's not that hard." said Yuhan.

Naina shot him an incredulous look. "Excuse me? You think you can cook like Bhabhi Sa? I'd like to see you try!" said Naina.

The rest of the table erupted in laughter, with Anita shaking her head fondly. "Yuhan, you're in over your head. Cooking like Kashi is an art, one that takes skill and patience." said Anita.

Prisha, always ready to stir the pot, leaned forward with a mischievous grin. "Why don't we test that confidence, Yuhan? Let's have a little challenge. Tomorrow's Sunday, so why don't all the men of the family try to act like their wives, partners, or daughters for a day? We'll see how well you manage in our shoes." said Prisha

The men exchanged wary glances, and Yuhan, now caught in the momentum of his own bravado, shrugged. "Fine by me. We'll show you how it's done." said Yuhan

The room fell silent as Prisha proposed the challenge. All the men exchanged uncertain glances, while the women looked on with barely contained amusement. Bhairav was the first to break the silence.

"A challenge, you say?" Bhairav asked, raising an eyebrow at Prisha.

"Yes, Bade Hukum. Tomorrow, all of you will have to take on the roles of your wives, partners, or daughters. Let's see how well you handle our responsibilities for a day." Prisha replied, her tone sweet but her mischievous.

Vedant let out a chuckle, nudging Yuhan. "Sounds easy enough, right?" said Vedant. Yuhan shrugged nonchalantly. "How hard could it be? After all, we've seen you all do it every day." said Yuhan.

Naina folded her arms and leaned back in her chair, a sly smile playing on her lips. "You have no idea, Yuhan. But I suppose tomorrow, you'll find out just how much we manage." said Naina.

Jai, who had been quiet up until now, cleared his throat. "I'm game. But just to clarify, does this mean we also have to cook?" said Jai.

Ritika's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Absolutely! And take care of the household, manage the kids if any, and do everything we usually do without any help." said Ritika.

Dada Hukum chuckled, shaking his head. "You youngsters think you're up for this? It's not as simple as it looks, mind you." said Dada Hukum.

Shivansh, who had been quietly observing the exchange, finally spoke up. "Alright then, it's settled. Tomorrow, we'll all take on the challenge. But remember, we won't back down easily." said Shivansh.

Kashi looked at Shivansh with a soft smile, admiring his willingness to participate. She could already imagine the chaos that would ensue.
