Just Having Fun

Mafia Entanglement

ZANE

Once we’d polished off our meal, I guided my sweetheart back to the car. As we pulled away from the restaurant, she turned to me.

“Zane,” she began, her voice gentle but laced with a hint of annoyance. “That woman back there, would you have killed her?”

I glanced at the guys. They just smirked, so I took a deep breath.

“I met her about eight months ago at the club. We went out a few times, but she was too much for me.

“She’d call me at least once an hour when I was at work, always wanting me to come see her or take her out.

“After about a week of that nonsense, I ended things with her and blocked her number.

“Thank God I never brought her to my house, or she’d have been camped out at the gates, whining and wanting in. I told the bartenders and bouncers at the club to tell her I wasn’t there when she came in.

“She still shows up about twice a week trying to find me, but I’ve completely cut her off.

“As for killing her—no, not in a crowd like that, but she was pushing her luck when she bad-mouthed you.

“No one will ever insult my love, or they’ll have to deal with me. And I can promise you it won’t be pleasant when I’m done with them.”

She had a small smile on her face, but I could tell it was bothering her a bit.

“I know you have work to do, and I really don’t have a say in how you do things. It just scared me a little, that’s all.

“My hormones have been all over the place, so that’s probably what’s causing this.”

I kissed her tenderly. “Don’t worry about it, love, it won’t happen again. She got the message this time, and if she tries that shit again, I’ll take more drastic action.

“But the only way I’d kill her is if she did something bad enough to warrant that as the only solution.”

We pulled up to a massive building. “Uh, this isn’t your house, and I can’t eat anything else right now. Where are we going now?” she asked as I helped her out.

“Boss, I thought you’d sold this place. We moved everything out to the house when you built it. I thought this place was history.” Noah said, getting out of the car and looking over at me.

“I considered it, but it’s still being used for other things in the organization.”

The driver handed me a small bag, and I took Shay’s hand and led her inside.

“You brought the card for this place, right?” Conner was pulling out his wallet to get his.

“Yes, I keep it tucked away, but I still have it. Yours should still work, too, unless you deactivated it for some reason.”

Conner swiped the card at the entrance, and it beeped with a green light. He opened the door, and we walked across the spotless, polished tan floors to the elevators.

A woman at the desk glanced up at us, smiled, and went back to her work. He swiped his card again, and within seconds the elevator doors opened and we stepped in.

Shay’s eyes roamed over the place, and I gently squeezed her hand.

“Relax, the night isn’t over yet. What I have planned next, we can’t do in these fancy clothes.”

After a swift ride to the top floor, the doors opened to my enormous penthouse. It hadn’t changed since we moved out over five years ago. Stepping out, the guys bolted toward their old rooms.

“Hey! Change into something comfortable that you can move in!” I called out, laughing as they acted like two kids seeing the place for the first time again.

I led her to my massive bedroom and she walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. I set the bag down on the bed, wrapped my arms around her waist, and planted a kiss on her neck.

She moaned, and I tightened my arms around her. “Don’t do that, love. We’re on a tight schedule, and as much as I’d love to make love to you right now, it’ll have to wait until later.”

She spun around in my arms, kissing me with such intensity that I groaned into her mouth.

“Can’t we have a quickie? You made my panties soaked earlier when you pulled your gun out at her. I was waiting until we got back to the house, but I really can’t.”

Damn, this woman. She was my perfect match in every way. She was fearless, and she loved seeing how I work, even if she didn’t have anything to do with it.

I claimed her lips and stripped off her dress in seconds. We stumbled back onto the bed, which was still as comfortable as the day we left for the house.

I thrust into her hard and fast as she moaned loudly. I wasn’t a fan of quickies, but she’d get them if that’s what she wanted.

I pounded her hard as she screamed and moaned; shortly after, we climaxed together. Her body shook and trembled under me as we rode it out, coming down from our high together.

“That was perfect, baby. It’s exactly what I needed.” She kissed my nose, and I kissed her back slowly.

I helped her up, then handed her the bag. After freshening up in the bathroom, she pulled out her jeans, T-shirt, and tennis shoes. “What’s this for? I don’t feel like going on a hike right now, baby.”

I walked over to the closet and pulled out a pair of pants and a T-shirt for me. “We’re not doing that, but I promise you that what we’re doing will be a lot more fun.”

Just then, a knock came at the door. “Boss, we’re both changed and ready to go.”

I slipped on my shoes, and Shay packed our clothes up in the small bag. I took her hand and the bag from her. Then we headed back down the elevator to the car with Connor and Noah.

After a twenty-minute drive, we arrived at a fun park that I’d rented out for us for three hours. Shay’s eyes lit up as we pulled up to the entrance.

“Do you think they’re open? I don’t see any cars,” she said, her eyes scanning the deserted parking lot.

“They’re open, alright. For the next three hours, we’re the only souls here. We’ve got go-karts, laser tag, mini-golf, and a whole arcade to ourselves.”

Her excitement was palpable as she hopped on her toes, following me inside.
