With all these uncertainties in her mind, she turned to face him.

To her disbelief, she was met with a pair of dark and soulful eyes just as she whirled around.

His eyes were as dark as black holes. It was as if they wanted to suck her in.

Startled by the display, she gaped at Gregory.

“Gregory, you...”

He closed in on her and pulled her into his embrace with a hook of his arm.

The woman’s soft body leaned heavily on his, and his breath grew increasingly erratic.

He reached a hand out and lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him.

“You chose that outfit on purpose to try and seduce me, huh?”

A small smile tugged at Vickie’s lips.

Her long fingers traced the outline of his face, dragging languidly past his chin, Adam's apple, collarbones, and sliding right between his sculpted chest.

“Yes. I’m seducing you. I’m just wondering if Mr. Graham is going to fall right into the trap?”

A corner of her mouth curled into an enchanting smile. This was the first time Gregory had seen her like this. He felt like his whole body was on fire.

The heat came out of nowhere, and he was going to explode at any second.

He mirrored her smile.

“Of course I’ll fall for it. How big of an idiot do I have to be to not accept the favor Mrs. Graham has so generously prepared for me.”

With that, he swept her off her feet and carried her in his arms.

Vickie was thrown onto the big and cozy bed by the man.

He leaned down and pecked her lips. “What’s got you so excited tonight?” he rasped as he continued to kiss her.

Vickie’s body was turning numb with the sensation of his lips on her skin. She put her arms around his head and whispered, “Let’s not talk about that now.”

Gregory began chuckling darkly.

Then he heard the woman’s voice saying, “Gregory, let’s have a baby.”

Gregory froze in shock and looked up at her.

She reached a hand out and hooked it around his neck. “Gregory, I want to have a child of our own.”

How could Gregory reject her when she was looking the way she did at that moment?

He deepened their kiss and whispered, “As you wish.”

The next day.

As expected, they woke up later than usual. It was already kind of late when they decided to go to bed last night. Coupled with what they had been up to all night, they did not fall asleep until the crack of dawn.

It was already afternoon when they awakened.

Gregory felt better than ever. He got his own release last night, and he had a refreshing look about him.

In stark contrast with him was Vickie. Her pasty complexion indicated that she did not get much sleep at all. One could see how sleepy she was from her face alone.

Gregory knew he went too far last night, so he did not dare to comment on her exhaustion. He stayed by her side the entire day to attend to her every need. It was only then that Vickie felt a little better.

He and Jeff had successfully made a deal, so there was no need for either of them to suspect one another. Both parties were very clear about their own terms this time. With that, Gregory gave the order to find the rest of the Arcane Jades in no time.

He listened to Vickie and got in contact with Sean Miller through Nell. The Money Bead was delivered to him, and Gregory asked him to take a look into the plant in the meantime.

Sean disliked the Flinders, but he knew that Vickie was different from them even though she had their blood in her.

That was why he did not turn down their request.

Jeff had used this thing to control the Flinders for such a long time. It was not hard to deduce from that that keeping this plant alive would not be a breeze.

Although Jeff had already told them about the ways of tending to it, the reality was that it would never be as easy as it seemed.

Gregory did not expect anything much from Sean though. He was literally clinging to a sliver of hope right now.

Once he had settled matters concerning the Money Bead, he began his tireless search for the Arcane Jades.

He had thought really hard about this. If he were to uncover all five of the jades and told Jeff that he wanted to trade the last one for a dozen or even hundreds of Money Beads, the latter might just agree to the deal.

After all, Jeff had always seemed dead-set on obtaining all six of the Arcane Jades.

The Flinders family was huge, and each member would have to take the medicine, so the supply must be enormous. If Jeff could produce so many fruits at once, it must mean that he had more than just a few of the same plant. It would be nothing for him to give him hundreds of them.

Upon arriving at that thought, Gregory decided to put everything he had into finding the Arcane Jades.

On the other side of the city right now, Nell was working when she received a phone call out of nowhere.

Janet and Liam were not in the country these days. They had gone back to Country F since Old Madam Griffin’s birthday was just around the corner.

Nell had asked her to look out for any news about the jades before this, so she immediately asked when she connected the call, “Jan, did you hear anything about the jades?”

Jan’s laughter could be heard on the other end of the phone. “Ha! So I can’t call you now when I don’t have any news?”

It was only then that Nell realized she had been a little too anxious. She chuckled too.

“Of course you can. I’m just asking.”

She had been friends with Janet for a long time. It was impossible for them to misunderstand one another.

On top of that, Janet knew Nell’s personality really well. She would not have enlisted her help if it was not something urgent.

Although she still had no idea why Nell would want to know anything about the jades, she was ready to pour all her resources into helping her sister in need.

A lot of guests visited the family beforehand, so grandma pulled me along to greet them. Then, we met this uncle from the family, and I overheard their conversation together in which he said he had one of the jades in his collection.”

Nell immediately followed up with her own questions. “What’s the name of the uncle? Can his words be trusted?”

“Hm, I think his last name was Alfuth. I’m not sure about anything else. There were a lot of people that day. I don’t know if his words can be trusted.

I’ve only heard him mention the jade in passing during their conversation. They seemed to be very cautious about mentioning it and won’t talk about it in front of us. I don’t know anything more than that. If you’re anxious to know more, I can help you ask around.”

Nell did not try to be courteous with her and said right away, “Please help me ask around. If what you heard is true, it’d be the best thing ever.”

Janet heard the excitement in her tone and could not suppress her curiosity.

“Nelly, can you tell me why you are looking for this thing? I don’t see you as someone who would go after immortality or anything like that,” she asked in confusion.
