Chapter 1013

Spoiled by the President

Since Vickie and her husband were here, there was nothing else Nell had to worry about.

Very soon, the car stopped in front of Griffin Residence.

Old Madam Griffin had learned of Old Madam Quinton’s arrival and was already waiting at the doorstep.

Both of them were besties ever since their youth, and the friendship they shared was undoubtedly strong.

When she knew Old Madam Quinton was coming, Old Madam Griffin was ecstatic.

In the morning, she ignored her family’s discouraging remarks and insisted on welcoming her best friend personally.

When the Leiths got out of the car, the two old ladies embraced each other and the scene was rather touching.

Unfortunately, the weather was not great and was a bit cold. Although both women were emotional, none of their family members allowed them to remain outside.

Justin Griffin supported Old Madam Griffin and said, “Mom, it’s so cold today. We’d better head inside.”

Finally, Old Madam Griffin conceded.

“Fine, let’s head inside. Sis, let me bring you in.”

Everybody went in as people came up to greet them.

As members of the Griffin family, Liam and Janet had already arrived some time ago.

The Griffins had to make arrangements for the Old Madam’s 70th birthday, so there were many things that needed to be prepared. They also had to take care of some business matters.

Therefore, Janet took her child along and followed Liam here.

Right before Nell arrived, she texted Janet.

When Janet heard the commotion in the anteroom, she knew they were here.

She handed her son to the nanny and came over.

“Nelly.”

“Jan.”

The two besties got together joyfully. Gideon, on the other hand, got left behind.

Old Madam Griffin was thrilled to see the two bundles of joy and asked them some questions.

When she asked about their names and age, the kids answered politely.

Old Madam Griffin smiled until her eyes formed two narrow lines. She told Janet, “Is Leonard asleep? If he isn’t, bring him over so that he can meet Big Sister and Little Brother.”

Janet chuckled. “He isn’t. There are a lot of people here. I’ll take him to the backyard later.”

The Old Madam nodded.

There were too many people in the anteroom, so it was not suitable for children to play.

Janet and Nell chit-chatted for a while before the latter brought her children along, following Janet to the backyard.

The Griffin Residence was massive. When she reached the backyard, Nell found out that a children’s playground had been built in the garden.

Meanwhile, Janet and Liam’s son, Leonard Griffin, was sitting there. Displeasure was written all over his chubby, pinkish face as he lowered his head and sulked. Nobody knew who he was angry with.

Janet approached him and smiled. “Leonard, come see Big Sister and Little Brother.”

Little Leonard lifted his head to look at her. Despite his reluctance, he came over courteously.

Janet held his hand and introduced him to the other two children. “This Big Sister is called Lizzy and this Little Brother is called Viemond. Do you remember their names?”

Little Leonard kept his large, watery eyes open and stared at the two kids without blinking.

Lizzy was the eldest among the three children and the most open, so she offered her tiny hand at once.

“Hi, Little Brother Leonard, I’m Lizzy.”

Little Leonard blinked once, then twice.

As everyone wondered whether it was because he did not like her, he suddenly stretched out both hands, moved forward, and hugged Lizzy.

“Pretty Sis, I like Pretty Sis.”

Nell and Janet were shocked.

The boy, who was sulking earlier, was now beaming with pleasure.

He looked up at Lizzy who was a head taller than him and saliva trickled down the corners of his mouth.

At the same time, the angry roar of a child appeared.

“Don’t hug my sister!”

Little Viemond’s face was red with anger. He rushed forward and pushed the boy away.

Although Little Viemond was a year and a half younger than Little Leonard, he was strong for his age. Moreover, Little Leonard probably did not expect someone to push him, so he lost his balance and fell down.

He did not imagine that his passionate display of emotions would be met with such hostility. At first, he was stunned. Then, he began to wail loudly.

Nell and Janet panicked.

“Don’t cry, Lenny. Be a good boy. Little Brother didn’t mean it. Don’t cry.”

Nell walked toward them, bent down, and pulled Little Viemond away. She spoke to him sternly, “Vinny, didn’t Mommy tell you not to hit other people?

How could you push Big Brother Lenny?”

Little Viemond looked at her blankly. His big, round eyes were like two black grapes, making him look particularly endearing.

Most likely a result of Nell’s chiding, he pouted and said in an upset manner, “Mommy, you said that I’m a boy and I should protect Sis.”

As he spoke, he pointed a finger at Little Leonard who was still crying.

“He bullied Sis!”

Nell froze and understood something. Her hardened expression softened as she laughed.

“He didn’t bully Sis. He likes her.”

Little Viemond shook his head.

“No, he bullied Sis. The books say that Sis is a girl and girls can’t simply hug other boys. He hugged Sis, so he’s a bad guy!”

Lizzy was confused. One of them was her younger brother and the other was her other younger brother. She did not know what to do.

Janet started to react, too.

She stifled a laugh.

She comforted the crying Little Leonard and gave a thumbs-up to Little Viemond.

“You’re right, Vinny. Big Brother’s wrong. He shouldn’t have hugged Big Sister without her permission,” she said as she consoled Little Leonard.

“Lenny, did you hear me? Next time, if you want to hug Big Sister, you must get her permission first, do you understand?”

Little Leonard was still sobbing. Nell saw this and told Lizzy, “Lizzy, go coax Little Brother.”

Lizzy was hesitant.

She did not mind getting hugged, but she feared that Little Viemond, who defended her, would be upset if she approached Little Leonard.

Nonetheless, she believed that nothing bad would happen as Little Viemond was being carried by Mommy. As such, she walked toward Little Leonard.

“Hi, Lenny. Don’t cry. Come play with me!”

As the elder sister, Lizzy did have a way of coaxing young children.

Little Leonard had always liked her. When he heard her voice, he still listened to what she said despite his pitiful sobs.

He directed his tear-covered face toward Lizzy.

He wept and asked, “What do you want to play?”

Lizzy gave it a thought. “How about hide and seek?”

Little Leonard wondered for a moment before he muttered a reply, “Alright.”
