Chapter 1021
Spoiled by the President
It was obvious that they had a tremendous bias against their niece-in-law.
No matter what, it was still a good thing that Sharon had been rescued.
Gideon and the rest had no intention of staying any longer. Once they had expressed their thanks to Uncle Ian, they left with the Arcane Jade.
After all this trouble, it was already past 12:00 am when they got back to the Griffin Residence.
Vickie and Gregory originally did not have to head over to the Griffin Residence, but since they were already there, it would be impolite if they had left first without greeting Old Madam Griffin with birthday wishes.
Regardless, they should head there and say hello.
For that reason, they followed the rest to the Griffin Residence.
At this point in time, Old Madam Griffin was not yet asleep.
If it was a regular day, she would have retired to bed by then.
However, there were too many guests today. Although Justin and the rest had been entertaining their crowd outside for her, she still had to meet some of the guests in person.
Moreover, she knew several of those younger ones had gone out and never came back. Not knowing what they went out for, she was a little worried and could not fall asleep.
Hence she thought she might as well wait for them in the living room.
Old Madam Quinton did not think there was anything to worry about but seeing how worried Old Madam Griffin was, she felt sorry for her.
When she called Gideon to ask where he was, all he said was that he had gone to settle some work matters earlier as it was inconvenient for him to talk too much.
So Old Madam Quinton scolded him.
Gideon had not been scolded by his grandma for a long time but he did not get angry. Instead, he smiled on the phone while promising her that he would be back soon before he hung up.
Walking into the brightly lit hall, they saw several old ladies and men sitting there awaiting their return and with the maids standing by the side, it almost resembled a trial by three judicial divisions.
The few of them could not help but smile at that moment.
Liam, Janet, Gideon, and Nell walked toward them first.
They greeted each of the elderly, then explained their reason for going out that night.
Of course, they would never reveal the secret about the Arcane Jade.
All they mentioned was that Shawnâs girlfriend had gotten into trouble so they went to offer help in sorting out the matter.
Since Shawn was related to Mrs. Alfuth and had ties of kinship to the Griffin family, Old Madam Griffin knew him.
After hearing their explanation, she could not help feeling a little surprised.
âHow did it happen? Theyâre alright now, right?â
Liam said calmly, âTheyâre alright now and have been sent home safely.â
âThatâs good.â However, Old Madam Griffin got angry after a while and with a sullen look, she said in a furious tone, âWhoever dared to intrude our territory must have been tired of life. Liam, you must investigate this matter till the end and not let the group of people go so easily.â
Liam nodded his head.
Upon noticing that, Justin came out and said, âMom, itâs getting late now. Youâre all tired, why donât you head to your room and take a rest then.â
Gideon also added, âGrandma, Iâll bring you and grandpa to your room.â
Only when all the old ladies nodded their heads did the âtrialâ finally come to an end.
Vickie and Gregory sent their birthday wishes to Old Madam Griffin before they left.
The next day, the two of them were going back to Lin City.
Gideon thought of the news he had received earlier and brought along Nell to visit them so they could relay the news to them at the same time.
Since Southern Yunnan was not Gideonâs sphere of influence, all he could do was receive the news from his men, so he could not help much even if he went there. In the end, he did not go with them again.
Gideon gave them his informantâs contact information, while Gregory headed straight to Southern Yunnan along with Vickie.
Whereas on this side, Old Madam Quinton still wanted to accompany Old Madam Griffin for another few more days. It was not often that the two elderly could meet each other and no one knew when they would part ways, never to see each other again.
Hence, both of them were reluctant to leave each other.
Old Masterâs health condition was very stable as well since they had an accompanying doctor with them, and the Griffin family had an outstanding medical team.
With that, Gideon did not stop them and let them stay there with peace of mind. As for him, he headed to the desert to look for Cathy and Sean along with Nell.
Naturally, they had to bring Lizzy and Little Viemond along.
After all, Nell had wanted Cathy to meet her two grandchildren.
The two of them departed on the same day to an address that Cathy had previously sent her.
Nell gave a call to Cathy in advance, and knowing that she was coming, Cathy was delighted.
Last time, she was against the idea of meeting outsiders, so she did not want to see her two kids. Perhaps after spending some time with them last time, she was no longer thinking the same this time around.
Although she was still indecisive and hesitant, that kind of sentiment felt more like fear of being close to relatives rather than dislike.
The flight that Nell and her family got on arrived at the airport at 4:00 pm.
This place was a city named Yima, which means longevity when translated to Mandarin.
Given that it is located in the desert with only a small oasis, the population here was not large and its residents here were mostly dark-skinned foreigners.
By the time Nell and her family arrived, the vehicle that Sean had arranged to pick them up was already waiting at the airport.
When the driver saw them, he immediately greeted them in fluent Mandarin.
Spoiled by the President Nell and Gideon walked over with their two kids.
The driver introduced himself with a smile. âHello, Iâm Kremer. My boss had me pick you up, please follow me to the car.
Lizzy and Little Viemond were very curious about his outfit and skin color.
They had experienced and seen a lot since young, but they were still young kids, and it was their first time coming to such a place.
Both the local customs and appearance of people here were extremely different from China.
That was why both kids were filled with curiosity no matter where they went as if they had discovered a new world.
Kremer was a gregarious person. Although he was not aware of the relationship between Sean and Cathy, it did not hinder his enthusiasm toward them.
Along the way, he happily introduced the local customs to them while passing by some scenic attractions.
The desert was a huge land of yellow sand. Even though it was already November and people back home were already preparing to wear down jackets, the scorching sun here shone on their bodies as though they were about to be roasted.
Nell was worried that her two kids might get heatstroke, so she had prepared iced water for them early on.
Despite that, the two kids were obviously much stronger than she thought. Not only were they unbothered by the heat at all, but they too could not stop leaning on the car window to look outside.
This made Nell at a loss of whether to cry or laugh.
Gideon carried Lizzy over with all his might and said, âIâll bring you out for sightseeing tomorrow if you want to take a look around the city. Now that you havenât taken any protective measures, be careful of the sun out there burning your skin. â
Since Lizzy was now a grown kid, she had become more conscious of her appearance.
After hearing that the heat could make her skin peel off, she could not help but stick out her tongue and immediately retracted her head.
The car traveled on the road steadily.
