Chapter 1050
Spoiled by the President
Everyone knew that there was no beef or interaction between the Leiths and Jeff Flinders, be it personal matters or business deals.
There was no reason for Jeff to target them.
Well, besides them helping Gregory and Vickie in their recent search for the Heavenly Jade Silk.
Gregory was not about to deny his involvement with this incident.
The two made their plans and hung up. Sean stood there listening to the whole conversation.
He asked the moment the call ended, âSo what do we do now? Sit here and wait? Just how long do we plan to wait?â
Gideon pondered their next move. âIf possible, can you find out who are the people behind the large-scale industries in the city?â
Sean frowned. He had no interest in business, so he never noticed.
Still, he was very well known in the area despite not paying attention and he could easily find information if he wanted to, so he nodded.
âIf you need it Iâll go find out now.â
âPlease. I can't help feeling like Jeff getting here with no traces anywhere was not an easy feat, especially since it looks like heâs been lying in wait for a while. Every hotel we checked has no traces of his existence, which means heâs on private property.
Sean nodded. âIâll be off then. Iâll tell you if I see any private properties related to the Flinders.â
âAlright, call me once thereâs a hit.â
âYeah, I got it.â Sean waved him off and left.
Gideon thought about it for a while, got some of his men, and went straight to the Fairy Palace.
He knew that the Fairy Palace was Flindersâ property, but it was unlikely that Jeff would hide them there in plain sight.
Not to mention he saw Shimon here the last time. He did not know what he was up to but Gideon was willing to bet that he was involved in this kidnapping as well.
It was no secret this place belonged to the Flinders, a little bit of digging would reveal that.
If Jeff wanted to hide, it would not be this place.
However, the reason why Gideon was there was not to find Jeff, but Shimon. If he could find him, he might be able to force a lead out of his mouth.
It was highly unlikely since Shimon was on the outer circle of the family, and Jeff probably only saw him as a pawn. He would never tell a pawn his plans.
Still, Gideon was grasping at straws, anything was worth a shot.
With that, he quickly reached the Fairy Palace.
It was much more deserted at night since all the worshippers had left. There were only a few workers left there and they assumed Gideon was a believer here to pray, so they bowed to him.
Without the hustle and bustle of daytime, the temple almost felt eerily solemn.
He went straight to the main hall and saw that it was empty. The golden statue in the hall stood at three to four meters high. It was like the gods were silently watching humanity from the heavens with warmth and compassion.
Gideon stood there for a while before looking to the hall beside the main one.
A man stood there with his hands behind him, standing in front of a portrait as if he could see god by looking up.
The portrait was the same one that Little Viemond screamed âpretty lady!â at.
Gideon slightly furrowed his brows and walked over.
âLong time no see, Mr. Flinders.â
The man in question turned his head and was equally shocked to see Gideon.
âFancy seeing you here.â
Shimon looked behind Gideon and casually asked, âOh, Mrs. Leith isnât with you?â
Gideon frowned. He stared hard at Shimon, trying to figure out if that was a tasteless joke or if he was unaware that Jeff kidnapped Nell.
Sadly, Shimonâs face was calm and gave away nothing. Gideon spoke after a long pause.
âI didnât think I'd see you here either. This place is in the middle of nowhere, what are you doing here?â
Gideon coldly pursed his lips. âI don't believe in these things.â
Shimon raised an eyebrow. âHuh? If you don't believe it, why are you here?â
He thought about it and whirled around as if a lightbulb clicked. âWait, itâs the middle of the night... are you here to pray for children?!â
Gideonâs face fell and Shimon knew he went slightly overboard with that.
To be frank, the two had interacted with each other, but they were by no means close.
Gideon coldly smiled. âVisiting relatives.â
Visiting your mother-in-lawâs home surely counts right?
âAh, I see.â Shimon nodded but left it at that.
Gideonâs relatives had nothing to do with him, they were on opposing camps and not even close friends. Standing there felt awkward and speculative.
Shimon did not want to talk anymore, so he pointed outside.
âIf thereâs nothing else, Iâll be taking my leave if thatâs alright, President Leith?â
Gideon remained silent.
Shimon took it as a yes, and turned to walk out, but was stopped by Gideonâs cold voice.

âHmm?â he turned to look at him.
âJeff Flinders is here too, did you know?â
Shimon paled and his expression fell.
âI... did not know that.â
