Chapter 1056
Spoiled by the President
How could he be such a simple character?
He would elope with a woman all because of his liking towards her and despite that she was married?
What a joke!
Nell cursed at him secretly, then looked sternly at Jeff.
âMr. Flinders, why donât you just tell me honestly, why did you kidnap me here? Just give me a straight answer as to whether youâre planning to kill me or slit my throat, or else whatâs the point of leaving me hanging here?â
Jeff pondered a little for a while.
Then he let out a faint smile. âI heard youâve been married to Gideon for five years?â
Nell was caught off guard.
She did not understand why he asked this question.
Nevertheless, it was not a secret, so she nodded without thinking.
âYes, why? Are you interested in our story?â
Jeff shook his head.
He chuckled and said, âIâm just curious. Both of you have been married for 5 years, but why has he kept you in the dark and why havenât you noticed anything? People say that youâre smart, but in my opinion, youâre the most foolish woman in this world.â
The facial expression on Nellâs face changed.
She was not an arrogant person, but this did not mean that she liked it when someone scolded her.
Hence, she immediately dissed him back with no mercy.
âOh, I originally thought how amazing you were at controlling the Flinders family, but never did I expect that youâre a coward after all.â
Her cutting remarks, however, did not manage to anger Jeff.
Instead, he turned around to look at the vast sea as if he was thinking about something. After a while, he said, âI have a secret about Gideon. Not sure if youâre interested in knowing about it.â
Nell sneered. âStop deceiving me with those unnecessary words. You want to ruin our relationship as husband and wife? Youâre still wet behind the ears."
Jeff chuckled while he shook his head.
âWhether Iâm ruining your relationship or not, youâll figure it out after listening to this.â
Suddenly, he turned around and gazed at her deeply. He asked, âDo you still remember that incident where you lost three months of memory after being hunted down by someone 10 years ago?â
Nell was shocked as soon as he said this.
All she could feel was a chill running up her spine, making her hair stand on end.
Her expression turned serious as she stared at Jeff coldly.
âHow do you know?â
Jeff walked up to her, knelt down, gazing calmly at her eyes, and said word by word, âWhat if I told you that the person who hunted you down and made you drown in the water was Gideon, would you believe it?â
Nellâs face turned pale in an instant, looking green around the gills.
Jeff looked at her solemnly. Although the two of them did not continue to speak, their eye contact said a lot.
Nell shook her head and muttered, âItâs impossible. Itâs not him! Donât you lie to me!â
Jeff chuckled as he was not surprised by her reaction.
When he was done speaking, he got up and left.
Nell sat there with her face pale and her entire body stiff cold.
Just then, a few black-clothed bodyguards had probably received Jeffâs order as they came over to lift them from the deck and walked them inside.
âGo inside!â
The two of them were pushed into a cabin. Nell staggered a little, but fortunately, Cathy was holding onto her firmly so she did not fall.
Cathy had also listened to the conversation between Nell and Jeff on the deck, and she was perplexed by it too.
Up till this point, Nellâs head was still buzzing. She could not bring herself to believe what Jeff had said.
She had been married to Gideon for five years, so she knew very well what kind of person he was.
It was impossible for Gideon to lie to her!
Yes, Gideon probably did not lie to her!
As she thought of this, her mind became clearer. She lifted her head to look at Cathy before she said, âNothing, itâs just...â
Then she paused for a moment and mulled over Jeffâs words. Jeff had already made his words very clear.
If she deliberately concealed this, it would make Cathy worry instead. After all, the incident had long been in the past, so she thought she might as well tell her everything.
Cathy looked at her steadily. Even though she did not know what had happened to her back then, her instinct could tell that it was not a good thing just by hearing her say this.
Even then, she nodded and responded firmly, âSure, I promise.â
With that, Nell recounted the incident that happened ten years ago.
She told Cathy about how the Jennings family treated her ever since Cathy got into trouble and faked her death.
Nell also told her about how she was framed for plagiarism and bribing examiners when she sat for the national college entrance exam. She then talked about how the Jennings family had hogged the family fortune and forced her to go abroad.
Nell spoke very calmly, while Cathy was clenching her fist tightly as she listened to this story by her side.
Both of her eyes were flushed red.

ï¤Chapter 487 The End Pt. 5 One should know that before Cathy got into trouble, Nell was the little princess of the Jennings family, and she was raised with great care and love.
She had never been through any large hurdles, but ever since she âdiedâ, everything changed overnight.
A mistress brought along her illegitimate daughter to replace her motherâs position. Her grandmother and father who were originally loving and affectionate turned into enemies who hated her overnight.
Even her beloved boyfriend ended up in someone elseâs embrace.
Nell must have been so helpless and wretched at that time.
Cathy could not imagine her feelings back then. Whenever she thought about it, she could only feel her heart ache, as if it had been torn apart by a human.
Nell understood that even though Cathy had made her a verbal promise to accept the truth without being sad, no one could fully control a heart anyway.
Hence, she immediately sped up her narration, skipped many details in the middle, and went straight ahead to talk about what happened after she went abroad.
âWhen I first arrived abroad, my living situation was not decent. One, I was too young, and second, I didnât have much money with me. So I thought of working while studying part-time, and there happened to be a cruise ship that was hiring a temporary attendant.â
