Chapter 1078

Spoiled by the President

In the evening, after returning home from his matters outside, Gideon played some games with Lizzy and Little Viemond for an hour, and only then did he successfully make their resentment go away.

Since Nell and Gideon went away for such a long time, it was only natural for them to be busy when they returned.

Both of them worked for a very long time and could only rest for a short while.

Janet knew that they were back too so she brought her child to visit them.

Her son, Lenny was already five and a half years old. She also had a very good relationship with Gregory.

Even though both of them had a lot of misunderstandings in the past, they were as close as glue now.

Father Hancock was initially against Janet to be together with Liam because he knew the matters between Liam and the Griffin Family were complicated, so he did not want his daughter to suffer and regret it.

However, now that so many years had passed, Father Hancock could see that Liam did not treat Janet badly.

Father Hancock was reluctant to let his daughter go at first, but now, their father- daughter relationship had improved a lot.

Besides, with Lenny being in the middle to reduce conflict, Father Hancock would urge them to return home to celebrate the New Year every year so that he could see the child.

As to which child Father Hancock was looking forward to seeing, only he knew deep down inside his heart.

Rumor had it that Janet was pregnant again, and after the check-up, they found out the baby was a girl.

She and Liam always wanted a girl. They were usually happy when they visited Lizzy and they liked her a lot.

Now, Liam and Janet could finally get what they wished for.

Nell and Janet chatted for a while before they decided to go shopping together.

Both of them went to the capital's most bustling and luxurious mall.

Unexpectedly, the moment they got down the car, they did not even have the chance to enter the mall. All they saw was a lot of people gathering in front of them, which looked like they were discussing something.

Curious, they walked forward and squeezed through the crowd to see an old lady sitting there.

She was covering her legs and could not stop crying in pain. There was blood coming out from her legs too.

Many bystanders surrounded her to watch the scene but no one was willing to step forward to help.

Nell could not help but frown and said in a low voice, "What's with these people? Don't they know how to give a hand?"

She wanted to go forward to help this old person as she spoke.

However, Janet suddenly grabbed her.

Nell looked at Janet with confusion while Janet pouted her lips toward a direction not too far away, as a signal for her to see.

When Nell looked over, she saw a big and tall man walking in her direction.

While the man walked, his mouth was scolding as though he was saying something.

The old lady looked at him and her body shook a little.

The man walked in front of the old lady and scolded furiously, "Why are you acting all pitiful here? Are you thinking that you haven't made me lose enough of my reputation? Did you think by crying here and acting all pitiful, someone would just come and help you?"

Once he said this, some of the bystanders around could not continue to watch.

"Hey Andrew Pack, what is wrong with you? No matter what she's still your mother. How could you treat her like this?"

"Exactly. She brought you up with so much hardship when she was young. Even if she's not your biological mother, gratitude for taking care of you is bigger than giving birth to you. Can't you have a little bit of conscience?"

Those surrounding bystanders, who still did not dare to help this old lady, suddenly started to shout.

This young man who was known as Andrew Pack stared at them before he furiously shouted toward the bystanders, "What does my family matter have to do with you guys? She's my mom and not yours. Since you guys are so enthusiastic, why don't you invite her back to your home and take care of her."

"Huh, how could you say that?"

"We really can't stand watching this so we had to say something. If you want to

listen, then listen. If you don't, just drop it."

"You're so heartless. Don't be afraid of karma."

Everyone voiced out furiously.

Nell would never think that this man was actually this old lady's son.

From what the bystanders said, it seemed like he was not her biological son too.

However, even if he was not her biological son, he should not have left his foster mother and let her sit in the middle of the streets without being taken care of.

A glimpse of anger appeared on Nell's face.

At that moment, the old lady got up slowly.

around

The area nd her eyes was red and her worn-out face was covered

with shame: She then said to the bystanders, "You guys don't need to say anything else. Don't blame my son. It's all my fault. I was the one who accidentally fell." S

"Old lady, why are you still protecting him?"

"For more than ten years, you took care of him with so much hardship. Now that he has grown up, has a wife and children, he doesn't even see you as a person. Why

are you still spoiling him?"

"Listen to me, usually this matter should be brought up to the court and sue him for abusing old people."

When the middle-aged man heard their words, he immediately stared at them with

anger.

The old lady rushed to explain.

"My son didn't abuse me. Don't talk about him anymore. If you guys continue to

scold him, I will sue you guys for defamation!"

When everyone heard her, they became furious.

As for Janet and Nell who stood not too far away, they did not know what to say and

it was all written on their faces.

No wonder no one wanted to help the old lady when she fell just now.

Now that they had seen what happened, no one could blame those bystanders for

doing so.

After all, judging the situation of how the old lady protected her foster son, she

probably could not set the difference between the bystanders' kindness and grudge.

Maybe before someone could even finish a good deed, they might have brought more trouble onto themselves.

No normal person would do something like that so willingly.

When the middle-aged man heard what the old lady said, a sight of proudness

flashed across his face.

He then said casually, "Okay, you guys don't even have a chance to comment about

my family matters. If there's nothing else, hurry along. Don't embarrass yourself in

public anymore."

The old lady took a glance at him before she murmured something.

She did not say anything in the end. She just held onto her leg while she limped

toward the direction of her house.

The middle-aged man then followed.

Janet let out a sigh.

"Okay, let's go in."

Nell nodded.

When both of them entered the mall, they no longer remembered or cared for the

small incident just now.

It had been a while since Nell came out shopping to relax. Since it was rare for her

to have the time and go shopping with her best friend, Nell did not want it to affect

her mood.

Hence, after both of them shopped for a bit, they went to a beauty salon and did a

spa.

Laying on the massage bed, Nell suddenly said, "Jan, when I was overseas this time, I suddenly figured out something."

Janet closed her eyes and groaned, as an indication that she was listening.

Nell sighed and said, "Life is too short. We really need to appreciate the people in front of us. I know your relationship with Liam is good, so I'm so thankful that both of you are happy. No matter what happened last time, you held onto it in the end unlike Jeff Flinders, whose life ended with all those regrets.

Janet's eye twitched a little and the corner of her lips curved into a smile.

"Nelly, everyone has their own fate. Fate is determined by personality.

Jeff Flinders's personality already determined that he wouldn't have a good ending. He was too extreme and too selfish. It doesn't matter

whether she was alive or dead, he would've never respected Zeezee's decisions. Did you think that he

loved her just because he kept wanting to revive Zeezee from the dead?"
