Gideon looked at Nell. Only after a long time did he realize that his body was subconsciously shaking.

Then, it was Cathy who made a quick decision and signed on behalf of Gideon.

"Gideon, don't hesitate. You men don't understand things like giving birth. We women know best. At this time, the more you hesitate, the more you won't be able to make up your mind. Doctor, go ahead. I'll sign the papers."

Cathy was Nell's mother, so she naturally had the authority to sign.

Nell lay on the bed in the operating room.

"Nelly."

"Why are you here?"

the ward together. Gideon could not distract himself enough to go see the children.

He was on the verge of dying of heartache after witnessing Nell go through such a life-and-death struggle. How could he care about anything else now?

Fortunately, Sean and Cathy were around to see the children.

By then, Old Madam Quinton and Old Master Leith had also received the news and

rushed over.

When they saw their little great-grandson and great-granddaughter lying in their swaddling clothes, their mouths could not help but part in smiles.

Nell was unconscious for half a day.

When she woke up again, it was already the next morning.

She opened her eyes and looked at the white ceiling in front of her, in a daze for a

few seconds before realizing where she was.

To the side, Gideon had his back to her and was helping her make a nutrient

solution of some sort.

Since she was unconscious and was

unable to eat for a while, she had

lost too much nutrition, so doctor suggested giving her some

nutritional fluids to maintain her health first.

Looking at his back, Nell called out softly.

"Gideon."

Gideon's spine stiffened.

He looked back the next second and was overjoyed when he saw Nell awake.

He quickly put down the things in his hands and ran over.

"Nelly, you're awake?"

Nell forced a smile. It was not that she was unhappy, but she really could not laugh.

Otherwise, it would affect and hurt her wound.

When she was under the anesthetics before, she did not feel much pain.

Though now that the anesthetics had worn off, she felt the pain in hindsight.

However, Nell said nothing else other than asking him, "Where are the children?" Gideon paused before he turned around and pushed a large cradle car not far away.

Nell craned her neck to see.

Lying in the cradle were two pink and tender children, sleeping soundly.

They were so fragile and so small, they looked as if they would break at the slightest

touch and it made Nell's heart soften.

"Are they okay?"

"They're great. Nelly, it's been hard on you."

Gideon sat down and held her hand.

Nell laughed.

"I'm the one who wanted to have children, and I love them. How would it be hard on

me?"

Anyone who has never been a mother would never know the joy of being a mother.

She knew that Gideon must be distressed, but she did not regret it.

Even though she suffered and went through so much pain that she

thought she was better off dead earlier, she felt that everything was worth it when she looked at the two pink and healthy children.
