Chapter 122
Spoiled by the President
Never mind Wilburn the Second, even Owen Jackman, the calmest and most steadfast of the bunch was shocked.
Adjusting the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose, he asked, âBrother Gideon, are you for real? Could... you have made up a person to disperse the rumors?â
Although Elijah and Gideon were the closest, Owen had better knowledge of Gideonâs bodily condition.
It was for no other reason but his familyâs medical background by trade, the extraordinary kind too.
Since he had a close relationship with Gideon and the other bros, he made it a point to take care of their bodies as well.
Hence, Owen was very well aware that Gideon was not gay.
Both Gideonâs sexual orientation and bodily functions were perfectly fine!
Perhaps there was another reason behind his disinterest in women.
Throwing a glance at Owen, Gideon smiled faintly. âYouâll know the next time we meet.â
Own paused upon realization that there was truth in that. He was intrigued.
âLooks like the feng shui is great in Jincheng. You were never near women in the decades you were abroad or in the capital. It hasnât been six months since you came to Jincheng and now you have a wife. Tsk! You sure move faster than a rocket!â
Gideon grinned. âDonât be jealous. You wonât be able to find yourself a wife even if youâre jealous.â
Owen felt as though he was stabbed in the heart.
Wilburn the Second smiled. âIâm curious. What princess has caught the eye of our Brother Gideon? You must bring her along next time. I really want to take a look at her.â
âYeah. Sheâs our sister-in-law. When are you taking her to the capital? Itâll sure be a buzz when we all gather together.â
âOh yeah, you both should be coming back to the capital, right?â
Gideon nodded. âYes, after a while!â
âOkay, weâll wait for you in the capital.â
âWhat do you mean wait? I want to see her tomorrow.â
âLook at Wilburn the Second, he sure is impatient. Hahahaha...â
The private room was filled with an air of harmony and glee. Just then, Gideonâs phone rang.
Wilburn the Second teased. âTsk, could it be sister-in-law urging Brother Gideon to come home?â
Elijah, who was sat closest to Gideon leaned in for a peek. As expected, he caught a glimpse of the caller ID displayed on Gideonâs phone.
Dearest Wifey.
âTsk tsk tsk tsk. Iâm cringing. Youâre a big boy now yet you use such a cheesy name. Donât you think itâs mushy?â
Gideon snorted. âEven if you want to get mushy, thereâs no one for you to get mushy with.â
Elijah, â...â
Why did a single man like him have to have a big mouth?
Ignoring the party, Gideon got up and took the call outside.
âNelly, are you done over there?â
His tender voice basked in an almost undetectable gentleness.
Nevertheless, the voice on the other end of the line was not the usual calmness and aloofness that was Nell. It was hurried and frail.
âGideon Leith, is it convenient for you to get out here?â
Sensing something amiss in her tone, Gideon frowned.
âWhatâs wrong?â
âI... Iâm drugged in the Jenningsâ residence.â
The manâs face changed.
âIâll be right over.â
Gideon rushed back to the private room and without the time to say his goodbyes to the people in the room, he grabbed his clothes and hurried off.
Noticing the black look on Gideonâs face, everyone stood up altogether.
âBrother Gideon, whatâs up?â
âWhat happened?â
Gideon sullenly answered, âNellyâs in trouble!â
...
After the phone call, Nell did not just sit on the bed and wait up.
She approached the window and took a glance down.
The villa the Jennings resided in was three-stories tall. With her room on the second floor, she was not too far from the ground.
She estimated the distance before returning to the room to connect the bed sheet and covers together.
Shortly, a long rope was made.
Nell secured the rope on the foot of the bed before tying the other end around her waist. She then slowly climbed her way down.
Just under the window was the kitchen where maids were scrubbing on the plates. Nell suspended midair for a while and took the chance to slide down to surface when they turned around to walk away.
Once she landed, she undid the rope and took off.
The Jenningsâ villa was situated in the largest wealthy district within the city center.
Surrounded by mountains and lakes, the large district was developed in the highly-populated city where land was scarce. A picture perfect green landscape, the size of the area was staggering.
Fortunately, Nell was familiar with the surroundings, having grown up here.
It did not take her long before she spotted the nearest roadway and sprinted over.
As it was already late into the night, she dared not linger within the vicinity in fear that the Jennings may catch on and catch up.
The moment she saw gravel, she stumbled down the road and halted a cab.
The taxi driver was a middle-aged man. He was of a sturdy build and had mutton-chop sideburns. The man was dazzled by Nellâs beauty at first glance.
Nell came out in her own clothes but the dress could not hide her voluptuous figure.
Moreover, that face of hers was just an exquisite masterpiece and not to be outdone by those female celebrities in vogue.
He opened the door for her and asked, âYoung lady, where are you heading to?â
With her face painted in an abnormal flush, Nell staggered and jumped into the car.
âTo 13 Shore Lake Road, Leith Garden please.â
The driverâs pupils contracted at the mention of the location.
He turned over to measure her up. His eyes alighted with a hint of envy.
Leith Garden... Tsk tsk!
That was where the rich resided in.
Nell was in too much of an unbearable state to notice the gleam in the driverâs eyes.
After stating the address, she leaned against the seat and closed her eyes.
Nellâs present condition led the driver to believe that she was intoxicated.
He struck up a conversation with a smile. âDid you have too much to drink? When youâre alone outside, you should drink less! Youâre a girl, you know.
What if you encounter a bad guy?â
Still with her eyes closed, Nell reclined against the backseat without a word.
A brief moment later, her phone rang.
It was Gideon.
âNelly, how are you? Can you still hold on?â

ï¤Chapter 487 The End Pt. 5 Nell lifted her hand and placed it over her forehead before replying in a raspy voice, âIâm out and in a car.â
âWhere are you now?â
She tilted her head to glance at the scenery through the window. âI think around the international trade center! Iâve read the address to Leith Garden so I should be home soon.â
While speaking, her vocalization began to dwindle.
The drug had taken its full effect. Despite biting the tip of her tongue to use pain as means to sustain consciousness and rationality, it would not go on for long.
Able to detect the abnormality in her voice through the call, Gideonâs facial muscles tensed up. âAlright, Iâll be there right away.â
Promptly after hanging up, Nell lost consciousness.
Perhaps pressed for time to prepare, Sylvia drugged her with some sort of incapacitating substance, similar to ecstasy used by couples to liven things up; instead of the powerful aphrodisiac Hayley had dosed her with.
