Nell curled her lips into a faint smile. “It’s alright. The young child needs to be comfortable.”

Lizzy tugged her hands. Thinking that the little girl might have something to say, Nell bent over and leaned in instinctively.

The child suddenly rose to tiptoe and planted a kiss on her cheek.
