Chapter 170
Spoiled by the President
One thing worth noting was that everything that happened today was all planned by Gideon himself and him alone.
Including the design of the dress, the decorations in the cruise ship, the selection of the ring, and the big surprise at night, he did everything himself without any help.
Even though he was rather stiff in terms of love, he was still able to achieve a lot if he put his heart into achieving something for her.
Soon, Nell was done with her makeup.
The designers and makeup artists helped her to get dressed.
Nell stood still and let the designers help her into the gown. In the end, her curiosity got the best of her and she asked, âWhatâs the occasion today?
Why am I dressing up? I donât remember today being any day special.â
One of the designers smiled at her mysteriously but did not tell her anything.
âIâm sorry, Mrs. Leith, we canât say anything, otherwise Mr. Leith will blame us.â
The other makeup artist smiled and said, âJust relax, youâll know soon.â
Nell realized the makeup artist was right.
If they did not want to reveal anything, she could not do anything either, so she helplessly gave up on finding out about the truth.
After she got dressed, she looked into the mirror and saw a sweet-looking girl. Her reflection slightly surprised her.
The designer smiled and said, âYou look really beautiful in the dress. Mr. Leithâs taste is as top-notch as ever.â
Nell was slightly surprised. âHe picked this dress himself?â
âHe did. This dress is the work of world-class designer Frank. Mr. Leith came up with the draft himself and Frank brought it to life with his outstanding skills.â
Nell was awestruck.
If she remembered correctly, Gideon had either been busy working overtime or traveling for business trips and when he came back, the two of them came for this trip.
He should not have the time to design this dress, let alone preparing all this.
However, since the makeup artist and the designer did not want to reveal the truth, she did not ask anymore.
After she got dressed, the designer added a necklace on her before bringing her out.
Her man was waiting for her outside and when she stepped out of the changing room, his eyes shone.
He had to admit that Nell looked like a mannequin came to life.
Her tall and slender figure, the perfectly proportionate body, the snow-white skin, every single one of her charms was complemented by the pink gown and it made her look exceptionally lovely, especially pinkish cheeks that could move hearts.
Gideon smiled deeply and went up to hold her hands. He said to the makeup artist and designer, âThank you for your work.â
He nodded and the makeup artist and designer went off.
After they left, Nell looked at her man and realized he had changed into a different suit.
He changed from the snow-white tuxedo into a formal black suit with a swallowtail design.
The man was already tall and strong and the black suit granted him a prestigious temperament as if he was THE gentleman.
She was astonished for a moment before she asked, âWhat are you doing? Being all mysterious and stuff? And why are we dressed so formally? Are there any important events that we need to attend today?â
Gideon affectionately tucked her hair behind her ear and said with a smile, âThere is actually, thereâs an important occasion tonight.â
Nell widened her eyes curiously and asked, âWhatâs that?â
Gideon raised a brow at her. âYouâll know soon.â
He then held her hands and went outside.
Nell followed her manâs lead obediently and since he did not want to reveal much, her curiosity started to go out of control.
She curiously asked along the way, âWhere are we going?â
Gideon looked at her affectionately and pointed at the watch on his wrist. âItâs already 8:00 p.m., are you not hungry?â
Nell finally realized she had not eaten dinner!
It was his fault! He had to wrap everything in a veil of mystery just because of the surprise he had prepared. She originally waited for him for dinner back at the manor and after she heard that he was hurt, she rushed out the manor, leaving everything behind.
Who would have thought she would enter the changing room after she boarded the ship? After almost two hours of a goose chase, she still had not eaten dinner.
His little reminder made her realize she had been starving for a while.
At the thought of it, she glared at him and said, âItâs all your fault! Nancy told me you were hurt, whatâs that all about?â
Gideon looked embarrassed when Nell mentioned it.
He awkwardly touched his nose and explained in an anxious tone, âIâm not hurt, itâs just a trick to get you here.â
Nell coldly grunted. âHow could you scare me like that? You two must be working together to trick me!â
Gideon felt bad. He just wanted Nancy to deliver a message. Who would have thought she would use this lousy idea?
Nevertheless, everything had been leading up to this. He could not blow the mystery at the last step, so he smiled tenderly and said, âIâm sorry, itâs my fault. I should tell her to not trick you that way but Iâm happy that youâre worried about me.â
Nell was speechless. She glared at him but was not being calculative.
The two of them arrived at the open-air dining area and it was set on the second floor of the deck.
The entire place was covered in snow-white gauze and there was a long table in the middle, blanketed with a beautiful table cloth and several vases of fresh flowers. It was simple yet romantic.
The two of them sat down and the waiter, who was waiting at a side, served them a scrumptious meal.
The dishes were booked beforehand. They were delicately picked and it was undeniably an exquisite meal.
Nell loved big shrimps, so Gideon had them prepared before her.
He deshelled one and put it on her plate and then said softly, âItâs gonna get cold at night, so try not to have too much cold food.â
Nell nodded.
Dinner went on peacefully. Her man checked his phone twice throughout the dinner as if he was looking at reports or updates of something.
When he checked his phone for the third time, she was already full.
He wiped his hands, stood up and held her hands.
âCome on, letâs go.â
It was already 10:00 p.m.
It was windy on the ship and the temperature started to drop.
Nell asked, âAre we not going back to the manor?â
âNot for now.â
He then made a call and said, âBring it over.â
Nell stared at him, not knowing what he was doing. She had an oversized coat on her as she waited with her man on deck. It was not that cold for her with an extra layer of coat.
A while later, a whirling chuff sounded in the air.
Nell was shocked. She looked up and saw a black spot amid the dark sky.
She looked at her man in astonishment.
âWhere are we going?â
Gideon smiled and looked at her affectionately. âDo you trust me?â
Nell nodded.
âThen, close your eyes.â
Nell was slightly surprised. She looked into her manâs deep eyes and ultimately closed her eyes, entrusting herself to him.
