Jason Morton came in at the same time.

He was probably here to look for Celine. Therefore, when he saw Nell sitting alone in the dressing room, he was caught off guard.

He was aware of Nell’s part in the show, but he never expected to meet her here.

The makeup artist did not know of Nell’s previous relationship with Jason, but she knew that Young Master Morton was Celine’s fiance. It had been quite some time since filming began, but it was the first time he paid this film set a visit.

She smiled at him and asked, “Are you here for Celine, Young Master Morton? She’ll most likely be here soon. Why don’t you wait here for a while?”

Jason wanted to decline, but when he saw Nell, he agreed to it.

The makeup artist told her assistant to get a cup of water for Jason. The assistant eyed him secretly and realized he looked more handsome in person than in photos.

With such good looks, he would surely be popular if he became an actor!

Nell closed her eyes to let the makeup artist line her eyes. She ignored him.

Jason felt somewhat embarrassed.

Apart from embarrassment, he also felt a sense of displeasure.

In her place were coldness, indifference and rejection.

Celine cooed in his arms. “I’ve always known that your work will always be more important than me.”

“How can I?”

Jason held her hand uncomfortably and smiled. “Alright, she’s having her makeup done. We’d better leave and don’t disturb her.”

Celine stole a glance at Nell. A sense of satisfaction gleamed in her eyes.

She obeyed his words and headed outside with him.

When the two of them left, the makeup artist giggled. “Look at them, they’re so cute. There are so many fake relationships in showbiz these days, and it’s been a long time since I saw a genuinely happy couple.”

Nell’s lips curled upward in a sarcastic manner. She kept her opinion to herself.

Soon, her makeup was done.

Nell got out to prepare her lines, whereas it was Celine’s turn to do her makeup.

Jason was free today and accompanied her.

The two were lovey-dovey and spent their time together, which resulted in envy among the crew members.

Nell ignored their remarks. She sat on the stool and memorized her lines.

Nancy walked towards her with a glass of iced watermelon juice. She handed it to her and scoffed, “What the heck? They are an adulterous couple, yet people treat it as true love!”

Nell took a sip of the watermelon juice and replied slowly, “No matter what others say, it’s true that they have a good relationship now. It’s good enough for Celine.”

Nancy was taken aback.

She looked at Nell nervously and asked with care, “Aren’t... Aren’t you uncomfortable?”

“Huh?”

Nell lifted her head and noticed the awkwardness in Nancy’s gaze. She then reacted and laughed. “Why think about such things? I’m no longer interested in him.”

Nancy heaved a sigh of relief.

“Well, you have your husband, who’s the best man in the world. Men like Jason Morton are nothing compared to your husband and aren’t worthy of you.”

Nell could not stop herself from chuckling, but when Nancy mentioned Gideon, she remembered that she had been busy filming for the past two days and had not given her husband a call.

Before the film’s production, Gideon would call her almost every night and they would talk for hours.

Two days ago, she stayed up late to film some scenes and did not answer his call. Later, it was already the wee hours of the morning. Gideon probably did not want to disrupt her sleep, so he said a few words hurriedly and hung up.

Until today, he did not phone her.

Nell told herself that if filming wrapped early tonight, she had to give him a call.

As she contemplated, gasps and exclamations could be heard in the dressing room.

“Wow! It’s so pretty!”

“You’re so fortunate, Celine!”

“A huge diamond ring like that must be expensive! My god, my heart!”

She turned around and saw Celine standing at the entrance to the dressing room. The latter held a large bouquet of roses while Jason knelt on one knee in front of her with a diamond ring in his hand. He was sliding the ring onto Celine’s finger.
