Chapter 229
Spoiled by the President
A moment later, Jason lowered his head and said with a dispirited tone, âBecause I betrayed you. I did a lot of things that hurt you and I even teamed up with the outsiders to bully you. Do you still hate me?â
Nell raised a brow.
âIs he showing his guilt by lowering his head?â
She chuckled and smiled. âNo, I donât hate you.â
Jason was slightly shocked. He looked up at her in disbelief with his eyes wide open.
âWhy?â
âBecause hate means I still remember and I donât want to remember someone that is not important to me because I hate him.â
With that, she lifted her lips into a grin and walked away without looking back.
Jason stood still as he watched her silhouette leave his sight. His mind was so shocked, it was as if a bolt of lightning had hit him â he was petrified.
âWhat did she say? She doesn't hate me because Iâm not important to her life?â
âIâm not important?â
âHahahahahaha! Six years, she devoted six years into this relationship and she simply threw it away with just a swing of hand?â
âShe doesnât want it because she says so?â
âShe doesnât like it anymore because she says so?â
âIâm not important anymore because she says so?â
âWho gave her the right? What made her think Iâm not important?â
âThat six years, were they not the best time of her life?â
âEven though things have changed and she has someone else by her side now, she should not just call me an unimportant person!â
âIâm her first love! Shouldnât all first love be the hardest to forget? Shouldnât it be the most mysterious part of oneâs heart?â
âNo! I donât believe it! Iâll never believe it!â
As the thoughts flooded his mind, the heat in Jasonâs eyes radiated strongly.
He then lifted his foot and went after her.
...
Nell did not stay at the event, not because of someone but because it was getting late. The big Demon King at home would start to nag at her if she did not get home soon.
Gideon was deeply concerned because she did not want to bring him along to the charity ball.
He swore that one day when she has agreed to unveil their relationship, he would let the world know that he was her man and they were serious about being together.
Hmph!
The man was sulking at home until he heard the noise of the car engine, his brows moved and he bolted up.
However, at the next second, he fell back on the couch.
âWait, why am I so anxious?â
âIsnât she back? She will have to come back eventually! Hmph!â
So he sat down on the leather couch and in order to make himself look relaxed, he crossed his long legs.
On top of that, he even grabbed a magazine by the table and feigned reading it.
The moment Nell came in, she was greeted with the sight of him reading the magazine with his legs crossed.
Inside the spacious and glamorous living room, a handsome man was sitting on the couch with his legs crossed and was reading the financial magazine in his hand seriously.
She grinned as she changed into her slippers and walked over.
âHubby, Iâm home.â
Gideon did not even look at her, he simply grunted, âMhmm...â
Nell put her bag down before she sat down beside him and had her hands curled around his arm.
âHubby, itâs been hours since we last saw each other, do you miss me? Have you been a good boy at home?â
Gideon put on a bland look and pulled his arm away from her hands. He then said nonchalantly, âNo.â
Noticing that Gideon had pulled his hand away, Nell raised a brow at it curiously.
âTsk, you tsundere!â
Just like that, she got up and walked upstairs.
Gideon was surprised by her action as he did not know why she would walk away all of a sudden.
âWait, shouldnât she stay by my side and cheer me up? I made myself look grumpy but she didnât even try her best to cheer me up. Can she put in a little more effort?â
âAm I that boring to her already? Itâs been less than five minutes and sheâs bored with me?â
The thoughts in his head made his already grumpy mood worse.
So, he slammed the magazine on the tea table and grunted strongly. He started to sulk all by himself on the couch.
âFine, if you donât want to cheer me up, donât! I donât need it either!â
âPeople say men shouldnât pamper women too much because the more they are pampered, the more they will take advantage of men. It seems like Iâve given her too much freedom, to the point that she doesnât even take me seriously anymore!â
President Leith sat down at the couch and sulked all by himself.
It was then that Nell walked down from the stairs with a cup in her hand.
âOkay, stop sulking. I know youâre not happy because I didnât bring you out. Iâm sorry. Here, take your medicine.â
Gideon had been having a cold for two days already. The doctor had given him medicine and told him to take a pill before bed every night.
When he saw the fair white hand handing him the pills and a cup of warm water, his gaze landed on her face.
The sulk instantly faded away.
Nell did not ignore him, she simply went up and took his medicines for him.
She cared about him, and this meant that he had an important position in her heart.
It cheered Gideon up right away.
However, Gideon Leith was the big bad boss. Even if he was happy, he would not show it on his face.
He simply grunted nonchalantly and took the pills with the glass of water. He then asked, âWhen can we truly unveil our relationship?â
Nell giggled awkwardly. âTo be fair, I think weâre going quite well now!â
âWell my a**!â
The man suddenly cursed out of instinct.
âAm I that shameful to you? To the point that you donât want to unveil our relationship? Huh?â
She anxiously shook her head.
âI donât mean it that way... Uh... The thing is... Itâs not time yet.â
âHmph! Do you think I will believe you? Tell me, do you wish to hide our relationship forever? Huh?â Gideon grunted and questioned her.
Nell denied it with a shake of her head.
âNo, I swear I never thought of that!â
âIf swearing is useful, the police would be useless.â
âWhat?â
âI donât care, tell me when are you going to end this secrecy?!â
Nell carefully thought about and took the manâs jealousy into consideration. She knew hiding their marriage was not the best way for the long run.
She said, âGive me more time. When I am done with my motherâs matter, Iâll do whatever you want.â

Nell sighed a breath of relief after she had calmed the Demon King down.
Then, Nell thought of the interesting scene that had happened back at the charity ball, so she then told Gideon about it.
After Gideon had heard the full story, he laughed and ridiculed.
âThat bastard Jason is worthy of love? Heâs an insult to the word love!â
Nell looked at him curiously. âIf he is not worthy, are you?â
âOf course!â The man did not find any problem in deeming himself worthy of love. He hugged her tightly in his arms and whispered, âBefore I met you, I never thought I was worthy, but after Iâve met you, you and I know that I had to wake up.â
Nell said, âUh... Donât go upstairs...â
