Skylar nodded. “Fine, I’ll go deal with this first. You better be careful on your own. Stop causing trouble, especially after what happened. Stay at home, don’t go out, just wait for my news.”

Celine sighed a breath of relief after Skylar agreed to help her. She nodded repeatedly. “I understand. Thank you, Sister Skylar.”

A while after Skylar had left, Celine received a call from Jason.

Celine’s eyes were cold as she glared at the caller ID on display.

She knew they were no longer the same as before yet how much love was left in both their hearts? It was considered a blessing that they did not call each other an enemy after their relationship suffered a fallout.

She stared at the name on her phone and watched it nudge for a few seconds. Her heart somehow felt painful as if something was dug out.

She took a deep breath and answered the phone.

Jason’s voice on the other end of the phone sounded gloomy. “Did you really do it?”

Celine forced a shallow grin on her face and said, “I thought you should know it by now, why are you even asking? When I sent someone to take the cyanide, one of your assistants gave it to me. Don’t tell me that he didn’t ask for your permission.”

Jason said coldly, “How many of my assistants have you bought off without my knowing, do you even count? I’m just letting you have your way, I don’t want to be calculative with you yet you used it as an excuse to shift the blame?”

Celine was slightly stunned. She chuckled and said, “Are you questioning me now?”

“Should I not? I’m sure you know how much money Fenghua has invested in you. You don’t even have to think about that movie deal anymore and Carangi’s endorsement deal is only around the corner, yet you did something like this? What are you going to tell the Carangi representatives?”

Celine was slightly stunned again. She squinted her eyes and lifted her thin lips. “I’m already thinking of a way to solve the problem. Why are you being so anxious? Are you really nervous about the endorsement deal? Or are you feeling for your ex-girlfriend who you ditched but look as beautiful as ever now?”

“CELINE!”

“Don’t shout at me. It’ll make me think that I’m right!”

She showed no expression on her face. Her eyes were as dead as a dry well with a sense of chilliness.

Something inside her heart withered and crumbled to pieces as if a mirror had shattered to a million pieces, where she could no longer see who she was.

She then hung up the phone calmly. She took a deep breath and went out for dinner.

On the other hand, Nell knew that Skylar wanted to see her.

Even though she knew Nell would be at Leith Manor if she was back, Skylar dared not visit the manor directly.

Leith Manor was not a public place where random Jane Doe could have access to.

If she visited the manor and was denied entry, it would do no good to the matter. Therefore, she went to Xinghui and gave Nell a call through Hannah that she wanted to meet her outside.

Hannah was smart but she did not know Nell had been rescued.

Therefore, she was extremely unhappy when she heard Skylar was looking for Nell. The rumors about Nell were going wild online and speculations were saying Celine had abducted Nell.

Even though Hannah thought it was highly unlikely, it did not stop her from being angry at Skylar.

“Everyone knows our boss is abducted and you came all the way here to look for her? Is this a joke? Not only you but even I also wanted to know where my boss is! If we know where my boss is, we wouldn't be so anxious!”

Skylar felt uncomfortable after Hannah argued with her but she came to beg Nell, so no matter how unhappy or how uncomfortable she was, she could not afford to be angry.

She patiently said, “I’m just asking you to give her a call or you can just give me her number, I’ll call her myself.”

Hannah smirked. “And why should I give you the number? Just because you say so?”

Skylar looked at Hannah strictly. “Do you want to know where your boss is or not?”

Hannah was stunned. She sized up Skylar carefully, her gut told her that things were not as simple as it seemed.

“Even the police have released a statement on Nell’s missing and no one is able to find her until now. Yet this Skylar is so sure that a single phone call can reach Nell?’

Despite the thought, Hannah ultimately made the call because she was worried about Nell’s safety.

To her surprise, the call got through.

Hannah was delighted when it got through but she heard a cold voice asking, “What is it?”

It was not Nell but a man’s voice.

Hannah was stunned for a moment before figuring out who the man was.

She widened her mouth in shock but she realized Skylar was still waiting outside, so she quickly suppressed her shock down her throat.

“I...I’m just trying to know, is Sister Nelly okay?”

Sitting on the couch in the living room, Gideon turned to Nell who had a piece of face mask on her.

Nell signed him and he said, “She’s fine. Keep this to yourself.”

Hannah nodded. “Okay, I got it.”

The call ended with Gideon hanging up the phone.

Hannah stared at the phone blankly for a few seconds before reacting to the situation.

Her mind was still blurry but her heart was excited as if a volcano was erupting inside her.

She took a deep breath and stood straight for a few seconds to calm herself down. She put on a cold look and walked out.

Skylar was waiting for Hannah outside and when she came out, Skylar went up to her.

“How is it, Ms. Hannah? Is Nell available for a meeting?”

Hannah frowned and looked at Skylar angrily. “What makes you think our boss is back?”

Skylar was stunned. She forced a smile on her face. “I heard she was back, so I decided to come and try my luck.”

Hannah smirked. “Oh really? I don’t know who’s talking nonsense out there but no one answered my call. I called my boss’ house and the servants said she’s not even home. They’re searching for her as we speak.

“I wonder, Senior Skylar, where do you get the information saying that our boss is back? I think this person must know something about our boss’

missing. Why don’t you tell me the name and I’ll go question this person myself!”
