Chapter 248

Spoiled by the President

Midway, Celine suddenly stopped.

She turned to look at one of the officers and muttered, “I want to make another phone call.”

The officer impatiently gazed at her. “How many calls have you made today? Do you really think someone will come to your rescue? Stop dreaming and stay put, will you? It’s best that you think it through and own up to your crimes. Do you understand?”

Celine coldly curled her lips.

All of the sudden, she took a step to the side and rammed her head against the wall.

Frightened out of their wits, the two officers quickly pulled her away.

“Have you gone mad? What are you trying to do?”

“I want to make a call!”

The two officers, “...”

In the end, one of them helplessly waved his hand.

“Alright, alright. Give it to her! She’s gone insane.”

Celine received a phone as promised.

With the phone in her grasps, she could feel the tremble in her fingertips.

Under the excuse of privacy, she had the officers leave the room before she made the phone call.

A gentle female voice picked up on the other end.

“Hello, who is this?”

“It’s me.”

There was silence on the other end of the line.

What followed were light chuckles. “I thought you were locked up yet you manage to make a call? You sure are resourceful.”

Celine coldly blurted, “You’re also involved in this. Don’t think for a second you’ll get out of it if I’m not freed.”

“Ha, are you threatening me?”

“You said no wrong will come out of it but look where I end up. As an ally, shouldn’t you be rescuing me out?”

“Ally? What ally? I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Celine Jennings, what proof do you have to say that I helped you in this? I only chatted and called you a couple of times. I didn’t do anything else. How could you accuse me?”

The arrogant and somewhat smug tone blew a fuse in Celine.

“You’re of the Garretts in the capital. Aren’t you afraid that I’ll publicize the matter? You won’t be able to hold your head up among your social circle then.”

The other party indifferently smiled.

“I’m well known for being a soft-spoken goody two shoes. Old Madam Garret is pretty fond of me. Everybody knows I’m not in the best of health and rarely dabble in the outside world.

“You, on the other hand, are full of lies and a mistress who harms your sister to get to the top. You’re basically a mad dog infecting the world with rabies. Who do you think the people will believe, you or me?”

“You!”

The person added. “Oh, I forgot to tell you. I quite admire your sister. I met her once a long time ago and she saved my life. Only, she seemed to have forgotten about me.

“I think that as people, we should return the favor. So, I helped her a little. It’s nothing really, just adding fuel to the fire.

“You don’t have to be resentful. You wouldn’t be taken advantage of if you didn’t harbor malicious intent in the first place. Celine Jennings, you should be thankful that Nell turned out alright. Otherwise, you won’t even have a chance to call me today.

“Alright, that’s all I have to say. You should take care in the journey to come.”

With that, she hung up.

Celine was beyond furious.

How could the person play her a fool!

The person’s words suddenly came into mind.

Nell saved her life a long time ago...

Return the favor, add fuel to the fire...

Celine was hit with a realization!

With chill creeping in as though a nipping viper was slithering up her spine, she trembled all over.

She got to the bottom of it!

She finally got to the bottom of it all!

It was all but a trap set up by Nell from the start.

Every single person in it, including the few strong bodyguards introduced by the person named Garrett was perhaps Nell’s acquaintance.

Otherwise, Nell would not have gotten hold of pictures of the secret cell!

Celine found it strange that Nell was able to take down four trained men and escaped after she had infused her with drugs.

Everything was crystal clear now. Nell did not defeat the lot but rather, she was let to escape!

Having figured it out, Celine felt as though she was thrown in an ice cave with her blood running cold.

With her arms wrapped around each other, her body slid down against the wall, shaking from head to toe.

Outside, the two officers were startled by what they saw through the glass. Under the impression that she may not be all right, they rushed in.

She was fine but seemed to have taken a blow. They let out a sigh and escorted her to a cell.

The same night.

Nell was fast asleep when her phone suddenly beeped.

She opened her eyes slightly and drowsily picked up her phone for a look.

It was a text message from an unknown number with something simple written on it.

“Long time no see, Seven.”

Nell was dumbfounded.

Struck by a thought, she gained full consciousness.

She held onto the phone and glanced at the number, trying to recall who the person behind the number was.

She had a great memory and a thing for numbers, but the number sparked no memory. This should be someone whom she never came in contact with before.

Who was this person?

Beside her, Gideon was awoken by her movements. He reached out to clasp her in his embrace before asking, “What’s wrong, wifey?”

Although slightly pale, Nell shook her head.

“Nothing.”

She turned to glance at the man with his eyes closed under the dimly-lit light. His eyes were heavy with sleep.

Nell pursed her lips and said, “I’m going to the loo.”

She then climbed off the bed.

To her surprise, Gideon sat up.

“I’ll go with you.”

Nell burst into laughter.

The room had an en-suite bathroom. It was not far yet this man...

She pressed him back onto the sheets.

“Go back to your sleep. I’ll be right back.”

Without giving him time to respond, she swiftly sneaked away.

After stepping into the loo, Nell locked the door behind her. She then scrolled to the text message and dialed the number on it.

Spoiled by the President Chapter 247 Flatter Yourself Wrong Ride, Right Lover Chapter 1980 It was a busy tone on the other end. The call could not be connected.

Nell was taken aback.

The codename Seven was only known by a handful of people.

That handful would not send her message at such a time.

Moreover, it had been years since she left. Even Old K was not in contact with her because he did not want her caught up in the organization’s recent internal affairs.

Who could it be?

Nell was left scratching her head while outside, the man was calling for her due to her long absence.

“Wifey, are you okay?”

Nell immediately answered, “I’m fine, I’ll be right out.”

She kept away her phone and washed her hands. The man was already standing outside the door when she went to open the door.

Startled, Nell asked, “What are you doing?”

Gideon gave her a bitter look.

“I was afraid that you might have fallen into the toilet bowl and couldn’t get out. I was prepared to come get you if you’re not out soon.”

Nell, “...”
